  • a trick I do instead of the bowl is put the meat in gallon bags and squish the air out,, than I just flip the bags every couple hours.

  • ok just one thing... NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER use "la choy" "soy sauce" it's not even soy sauce. it's like... salt plus corn syrup... use REAL soy sauce like Kikkoman or San Jay (most Japanese brands are good)

  • When I do my beef jerky, I marinade the meat in a zip lock freezer bag and squeeze out as much air as possible then place in the fridge.

  • Tried it, but added a curing agent to it. It tasted great. But I think it would too expensive to use this method on a regular basis. Ignore the comments from others whose self confidence is so low that they must pick at someone over the net. Dumb shits probably don't even know the real meaning of redneck or where the word originated from. Nice video, BTW. Have a good one.

  • i use this recipe minus the teriyaki and chilli powder but add in some "secret ingredients." tastes amazing man. i put 2 1/2 Tablespoons of liquid smoke though, i love it smoky. thats with about 5 ibs. of meat.

  • this is the long way.i made some jerky again last night i just pour on soy sauce move it around a bit then shake on chili powder garlic medittaranean spice some australian native spice pepper salt then hang it on toothpicks from the oven rack and dry it with about 55 degrees celsius for 6 hours with a towel jammed in the door to breath.piss easy.

    Important points of jerky making:

    1) dont use breast milk ( unless u want the oakey flavor)

    2) dont use asbestos

    bam simple as that!

  • LOL !! A teaspoon of Black Powder. Is that about 900 grains !! Oh ya and the breast milk, my wife wasn't lactating but my dog was, she got real pissed off at about 4 oz ROFL !!!! WTF !!! You Are The Best !!

  • Oh Ya I almost forgot the recipe below will brine up about ten pounds of 1/4 inch sliced beef, I soak about 24 hours in fridge. and you can add a splash of liquid smoke if you are not using a smoker to dry it !!

  • Check it out Babbaboooey !! 11/2 cups soy sauce 2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup white sugar 1 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp ground ginger 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp oriental five spice (a must) 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper 1 tbsp kosher salt 1/2 cup of boiling water to dissolve and bring together all ingredients. Try it, it kicks ass. I have been playing with these ingredients for years and this is the refined masterpiece of the redneck art of jerkyism !! Good Video !!

  • i just used this recipe without the teryaki and the chilli powder, i like my jerky mild. its cooking in my dehydrator right now, ill tell you how it turned out. i made this in the oven before i had my dehydrator and it was great so im sure this will be alot better.

  • Great video, i had a stack of used filters beside my water heater i had never got around to throwing away and used those and it worked out great ,they are the type with the metal mesh made on so i didnt even have to use the screen wire like you did, the used filters gave it an Earthy taste and the fuzz came right off with a old hairbrush. I didnt have a fan so i tied it to the front of my truck ,would worked better if i didnt run into rain shower at the town dump just as i got there, tank u

  • Very interesting method....I like th mood of the video, BUT I do have to agree with an earlier post....buying filters and screen would result in a far more expensive method if you plan on doing this more than once. ALSO I would not recommend marinating in a metal dish, much better to marinate meat in a plastic or glass dish. You take the chance of actually tasting the metal in your meat.

  • Oh yeah... for those who are doing this to be frugal... I got a nice Nesco dehydrator for 10 bucks at a thrift shop. Those air filters are about 6 dollars a piece at Wal-mart (they are the sames ones I use, and the same size too)... and HOW many were used in this video? Over time, a dehydrator is cheaper!

  • You had me going with that milk comment. Funny video though. Seems like a lot to go through just for beef jerky considering how cheap dehydrators are and that everyone has an oven. I'm going to try your recipe, I have all those ingredients all the time anyway.

  • Add in a shot 2-3 shot of scotch whiskey or soco and a table spoon of syrup. I call this "Adding the BIG AL touch lol" Those ingredients really make the jerky when making with this recipe. Thank you for this video I've made this jerky 3 times and can't get enough

  • nice video nice way to do it i saw something like that on food channel on tv. personally i can't wait 12 hours or so for my jerky so i just use a dehydrater. and then depending on how lazy i am i do my own style jerky or use pre mixxed season and cure. i make so good jerky either way. haha.

  • for safest curing practices it's important to have a ratio of roughly 1 tblsp salt per pound of meat.

  • hey i followed this recipe and i let it marinade for 24 hours and a made a batch with jack daniels and without 5lb batches and they were both great the jd batch was awesome

  • Babba... you need to pick you up some Tender quick or some cure to mix with your marinade. Drying meat like that gives bacteria a perfect place to grow unless you add the cure. Easy to do.
