  • I too have had a difficult childhood the repercussions of which have lasted way too long. Now at the age of 49 I have decided to organise a walk of a 1000 miles for charity in the UK next year. Starting in John O'Groats and finishing at Land's End in Cornwall. Then emigrating.

  • @TheChowdss Wow! That sounds like a great charity!! God Bless you with your endeavors! Way to fight against the demons of your past!! Jesus loves you forever and ever!

  • Is Mary Chapin Carpenter related at all to Karen Carpenter? They both have excellent voices.

  • @Ben2Narnia No they are not related in any way

  • This was a wonderful movie. Can anyone direct me to where I can find the uncut scene of her flying the geese to their destination with the 10000 miles song being sung? That was the best part of the movie and I can't seem to find it anywhere on YouTube.

  • I always wished I could hatch one egg, and have a little chick following me, but it would probably be a chicken so I would not have to teach it how to fly. and i would not kill it either. I would just raise it to what ever age, it will servive up to.

  • Beautiful!

  • This film inspires my creativity of building model airplanes out of Lego pieces without instructions! I have two models made and they are on my dresser, the cessna skyhawk and the skydivers porter models. I went for a tandem jump when I was 18, a great escape from hassles to have a moment to enjoy life!

This film was great and very emotional!

  • @DigtyDog lol, the actress's name was Anna Paquin

  • the oscar winner, if u dnt mine me adding... :P

  • @animallover0275 lol Anna looks totally different now. my mum commented on it a few months back, and i didnt no who she was, so mum explained she was off this movie, and my twin sis and i used to watch it wen we were kids. as a result, i looked on utub, codnt find it. so i gt video ezy subscription, and got it out. bits of it i remember, esp the ending wen theyr flying (i was really impressed with those flying machines n the way they zipped through skyscrapers) n i was lyk wow.

  • @DigtyDog nah the actress is anna paquin, shes in true blood with blonde hair!

  • i watched this movie in 4th grade and let me tell ya BEST MOVIE!

  • this song ALWAYS made me cry as a kid :(

  • Listening to this song alone without even watching or thinking about the movie brings tears to my eyes. And I don't know why. Such a beautiful song...but so sad sounding to the point where it brings up memories from the past that I really miss or of times of struggle that I've overcome..I can't always listen to this because it sometimes hurts..All in all, great job done by Mary Chapin Carpenter.

  • love the film love the song xxxxxx

  • Ya me había olvidado lo linda que es esta peli, y la música también, obvio :D

  • whenever I feel sad.... I think of this song and begin to sing it... It usually makes me feel better :')

  • Great movie, this was one of my fav movies as a kid. The song is really good but also kinda sad.

  • Years sought to this song ... thank you very much for putting it, you've made a happy person in this world, this song made me feel better, disconnected from a world so unjust, and transport me to my world, a better world, give me some peace, trust, memories, make my life a little better on hard times. Thank you very much to heart.

  • I'd like to make a video about sea turtles with this song! How does that sound?

  • so... sad. just the song makes me cry. idk.

    death sucks :(

  • Such a beautiful movie and wonderful song.

  • this is my all time fav song and film, love it.....

  • this film makes me cry, i didnt know it was a true story though, gosh :/

  • @J20Lover me either!wow..I wanna cry now..

  • @J20Lover It makes me cry too.... especially the ending when she makes it

  • @J20Lover It is not a true story. There are elements that are true to life, but not the story. Look up Operation Migration and Bill Lishman and you will be able to sift the fact from the film.... There really was a goose named Igor, but unlike the movie, he flew great and was also the dominant goose in the flock (no other goose messed with him).

  • is this at the end of the film?x

  • @bronipink16 it plays a couple of times in the movie, it plays at the start when her mum dies in the car crash, also when she's flying the glider with her geese

  • i always cry whenever they played this song...

    its so sadd yet pretty,

  • i love this film

  • Such a great movie! Love this song as well!

  • this song always makes me cry.

  • i love this song so much i listen tothis song whenever im sad it just helps me bring out my emotions. :)

  • i have this on vcr tape and dose make cry when the 13 old girl die in the car crash and her father back to live with him

  • Hello. Yes, the "true" part of the story is that a Canadian man, Bill Lishman, (naturist, light aircraft hobbyist) wanted to see if he could teach birds new migratory patterns for their safety. In 1993, he hatched (imprinted) & led 16 geese from Ontario to Virginia. All 16 returned to Ontario the following Spring. Mr. Lishman was a consultant & stunt pilot for the film based on his book "Father Goose-One Man, A Gaggle of Geese . . ." Just thought this might be interesting.

  • Forgot how this movie, and this song, gripped my heart. Thank you, animallover0275 for posting this. Peace and love to ye all.

  • this song makes me cry :') that movie is so amazing <3

  • I stumbled onto this excellent movie when it was donated to the toy drive we did for an abused children's shelter. I especially love the fact that Amy's father lets her be herself; she's allowed to express her feelings & keep the geese. When she's scared, she reacts naturally - by screaming & doesn't get "spanked" for it. An even better plot would have had Amy's mother only getting injured, both moving to Canada & the family re-uniting. Peace & Love to ALL.

  • @mjcamck71 Yes, an excellent movie! Bear in mind that this was based on a true story so the plot was probably written according to that story. ^_^

  • @roughscorps Sometimes, we humans redeem and inspire ourselves ... it is certainly a wonder to behold when we do :)

  • @roughscorps - Hello. Yes, there is a "true" part to the story although most of the movie script was fabricated. It's printed in full on the COMMENTS page, but the basics are that a Canadian man named Bill Lishman did, in the 90's, lead some geese South. Just, for your possible interest . . . Peace to ALL.

  • i love this movie so much when was still a little kid and i still do:)
