The problem is people not knowing HOW to drive in snow and ice, or knowing when to not try. Think your 2-wheel drive Acura with bald tires is going anywhere? You should have your license suspended until the roads thaw for the sake of everyone else.

the south hill is the wealthier part of town, therefore, a lot people from bigger cities live up there and they are impatient and don't want to slow down or take safer longer routes. they do not heed warnings about how bad the roads get in the winter, especially the steep roads on the south hill. I have never had a problem driving anywhere because i know how to navigate my car in this weather and i will take the longer safer route.

As a resident of spokane for several years, i can confidently say that this shows that people ignore the conditions and the risks and do dumb things regardless. All Spokane residents are well aware of how the weather effects our commute, yet still use little or no thought process in their travels.

I drive school bus here, Spokanites are some of the rudest and dumbest drivers anywhere I have lived, many run the stop sign on my bus, cut us off, and most of them are SUV's and Dodge diesel dufus pickup owners that are aggressive and cannot stop for red lights, speed and fail to use turn signals. (the capitol) is on the east coast. Completely different. And most people living in DC aren't white and don't speak English, so you'll stand out more if you're white and speak English and will probably be considered a tourist (my friend's family had to stop at 7 gas stations in DC just to find someone that spoke English).

I drive school bus here, Spokanites are some of the rudest and dumbest drivers anywhere I have lived, many run the stop sign on my bus, cut us off, and most of them are SUV's and Dodge diesel dufus pickup owners that are aggressive and cannot stop for red lights, speed and fail to use turn signals. If these drivers are so dumb as to keep going down this hill and pile up like that, no wonder Spokane is full of so many that are not that bright...Ay Naku!

I'm sure most of the people who are calling the people in this video stupid have never driven in snow. Spokane gets snow all the time. People drive up hills all the time. Stuff like this doesn't happen every day in Spokane. Yeah the only smart one has front wheel drive and is at :50. But this sort of thing happens in this area because they are not used to or prepared for snow and ice. Its uncommon, so nobody has studs or chains.

It's funny how non-Americans are so prejudice against Americans, calling them stupid and prejudice pricks! I NEVER see American bashing Europeans and their countries (except the French, but who doesn't?). unless provoked American's are far nicer than Europeans and Asians, on the internet at least. And I have been to America, the people there were the most polite, kind and hospitable I have ever met. Anywhere I went strangers greeted and asked how I was. Doesn't happen much to me in Europe!

@nobberING ...You might want to check up on your geography (not that many Americans know it anyway). Washington State (where Spokane is) is on the west coast. Washington D.C. (the capitol) is on the east coast. Completely different. And most people living in DC aren't white and don't speak English, so you'll stand out more if you're white and speak English and will probably be considered a tourist (my friend's family had to stop at 7 gas stations in DC just to find someone that spoke English).
