Separation of Church, not religion. The Govts. cannot force the people to worship a certain way, as England and other countries did. THAT is the purpose of the Separation. Our founding fathers made sure that the Govt. was prohibited from interfering, yet, that is exactly what it did in the 60s. The courts inadvertently took religious faith out of the Federal and State govts. which is a violation of the constitution itself.

How am I forcing religion on you? The Supreme Court ruling did, inadvertently, encroach upon the people's right and freedoms to pray, worship and observe their faiths anywhere they rightfully chose, since it is a personal matter, by discriminating and preventing it. In essence, it can neither be prevented nor forced.

non-separation of church and religion is forcing religion on me because i pay taxes and that means that my money is used to chisel the ten commandments into the wall of a courthouse. so whether you want to say "stop stealing my money for religion" or "stop forcing your religion on me" the meaning is the same.

Who said anything about the 10 commandments on the wall of a courthouse? I'm talking about the current illegal law which prevents prayer, worship and observance of a faith-based holiday in public, whether it's on government property or private, and that is unconstitutional. Our founders worshipped in the Whitehouse. Congress cannot establish a national religion and force it's observance, Nor prohibit its observance. That's what Separation of Church and State means. Stop forcing atheism on us.

The language is clear in their writings and the Federalist Papers, which Justices refer to in their rulings, except the judges in the 60s who misinterpreted or just violated it. Congress could neither make law for a national religion, forcing everyone to worship that particular way, nor prevent worship any way one may choose. No loopholes. The Fed. Govt. was built solely to protect the rights and liberties of the people, not encroach on them. I care more for down-to-earth matters than universal.

It is a part of government in that America broke away from England in part due to the King's tyrannical orders that everyone worship a certain way or face death for heresy. Our founders built this country in the way of not encroaching on people's liberties to choose. Congress, back then gave $ to certain churches while discriminating against others. Madison told them that was violating Separation of Church and State since Congress was prohibited from making law on Religion, for that reason.

i really don't see what our argument is, it's tyrannical for the government to order that everyone worship a certain way, such as saying that we are "one nation under god" the best method is to simply leave god out of the entire governmental machine. not DENY HIM, but be completely god neutral, it is the only fair thing to do.

Our govt. can't order we worship a certain way, nor can it prevent we worship a certain way, unless it involves something like animal or human sacrifices. No one is forced to utter 'under God' in the pledge of allegience. Our founders, who built the country, of, for and by the people, did so with Christian values and principles, which are meek and just. God or 'our creator' is mentioned in the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Federalist papers. All countries have a religious assoc.

"We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men (and women) are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights..." Many constitutional laws have been violated since, including the rights of the blacks to vote. Even in the 60s. But the founding of this country was held in regard to establishing laws, which were for that period, with amendments to be added to it. As long as those amendments weren't contrary to those basic laws and not encroaching.

When something has a heartbeat, and blood circulating through it, it obviously means it's alive. It's definately not dead. If you were in a whomb, and your mother wanted to kill you, wouldn't you want someone to step in for you and have a voice for you? Abortion is legalised murder.

It's unbelievable how little attention people pay, obama, clinton, and mcain all voted to fund the war 3 times may 2005, dec 2005, and june 2006, and also in june 2006 obama,clinton, and mcain all rejected a bill authored by john kerry that would force bush to bring the troops home within 1 year. Research their voting records for yourself. wake up, Ron Paul is the only canidate who truely opposes the iraq war and has the voting record to prove it.

all the real candidates were excluded... the important thing is to find out by whom. naturally this relates to the topic you bring up, and what needs to be added to this, as well as to fortify the separation of church and state, is to add a separation of media and state amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
