At first glance Ryu seems to be the weakest of the 4 new characters.. Sakura was pretty weak in SF4 and that didn't stop me! I've been sucha huge E. Ryu fan i ain't going back. The only thing i can think that is prime so far is his cr. m punch.. everything else seems slow! his timing is different than Ryu and Akuma's too.. just by a frame or two.

I have a hard time doing doing the focus cancel in the last combo. How do you manage to focus cancel fast enough to do the ultra? Every-time I do it my opponent blocks. Help me please?

People are calling him the next noob char. I don't care if all the kiddies are flocking to him. I'm maining him. Don't let popular opinion dissuade you. Use who you want, because a game is about having fun.

I also found a neat reset trick with him. When you shoryuken at the end of a combo, FADC, wait a moment, then light tatsu. You will just barely cross over your opponent before they get up. If you don't wait, you won't cross up. It's pretty ambiguous.

So did you ever getting around to trying to dash under a LP reset after LK tatsu? I've already seen others say that canceling out of teleport doesn't work. But I think the dash under will because Evil Ryu's dash is so good.

Sorry if you got the wrong idea. I was making general statements and didn't mean to say that you didn't know about damage scaling.

I have a few questions if you don't mind. If you reset with LP after a LK tatsu, can you dash under? And I see that boss version of Evil Ryu can cancel out of his teleports, have you tried to see if the playable version can do the same?

very nice, we're starting to get the ball rolling now...regarding the axe kick - does it seem to you that it's only the Medium version, followed by cr.MP that links? how about counterhit? i'm also still trying to find a good way to combo into the charged ultra 1 - probably anti air SRK.

In the first combo to Ultra, it's scaled down to 10%, 2nd is scaled to 20%, and 3rd to 30%.

Basically, if Ultra isn't going to kill or your opponent is almost dead then it's a waste of meter on Ultra. The combo itself does 400+ damage already.

I really like this new character! I always played Ryu, then Seth, who have low life but beautifull combos! Now, whit Evil Ryu, i have a low health Ryu-Akuma Style combos character with powerfull combo and damage, this is nice ;)

Sick damage on those combos. When I heard mule kick was replaced by axe kick I was a little skeptical, but it seems to be p. cool in its own right. I didn't know you could link off it like that. I see now why they made his raging demon his super and not an ultra, so he didn't have a super to cancel into. That would be a bit much.
