  • kill all your citizens and make a 200 paladins army !!

  • Vikings all the way!

  • in my childhoof I always played it when i could, very good memories and some days ago I was in a shop an their layed a collectors edition with 1+add on, 2+add on and the soundtrack for just 10€ , of course I had to buy it.

  • Memories of PWNING A.I. bitches with my Teutonic Knights.

  • I think I began playing this game when I whas 1 years old untill I whas about 6-8 (Ofcourse I picked it up and played it after but not as constant). I rember my Father playing it and my fathers brother to. So this bring back some really old and really good memories. I think I will beging playing it again.

  • La puta madre es re choto este !! pongan mejores!!!

  • I used to play the Vanilla Age of Empires II just for it's soundtrack, which does sound better than it's expansion pack.

  • This took me back 10 years.

  • man i miss the golden days of gaming. i dont know i actually felt something from most games back then. now-a-days its nothing.

  • @GamerzPro1231

I know how you feel, me too

  • Every time this song plays, I think of finding sheep. It was when I first began playing this game. I was so excited to find those freaking sheep. When I realised they could explore the map for me, I got even more excited. Then they wandered too far and became the enemy's sheep. I was traumatised as a kid. I wanted to keep those sheep. I told myself, "Never again." and since then, if I ever found sheep, I'd lead them back to my town centre and KILL'EM. KILL'EM GOOD.

*Le sigh* I miss this game.

  • @HickeryHickery Why would you miss it? It's still available in stores :P

  • @HickeryHickery and now today you've become a priest yourself

  • @HickeryHickery Lol I did that Until I would always make A palasiade Wall keeping my sheep safe (:

  • @brute144 Ha, I was the WORST when it came building walls. I'd build around as much land as I could 'cause I wanted a huge empire but sometimes the walls would run into trees and lakes. If I have my villagers gather wood, they'd create these big gaps where the forest used to be and enemies and wolves would SNEAK in through those gaps all the time and kill the living stuffing out of my villagers. Ha! I wasn't a very strategic person when I was little. :P All I could think was "BIG KINGDOM! MINE!"

  • Oh my god the nostalgia is overwhelming. This song is incredible.

  • wtf is this??????

  • i remember playing this game for hours... those online matches would go on for so long but it was so fun!! too bad msn gaming zone took out all there awesome multiplayer games... :(

  • @OctoKitty Voobly still hosts multiplayer :D

  • @6112jimmy awesome! i had no idea!! thanks :D

  • @OctoKitty your welcome. :D

  • nostalgic

  • omfg the song is named after my last name lmao

  • @codyandnelsy Your name is Shamburger? Wow..

  • Yes I was looking it a lot ! thanks ! : p

  • I hate that when installing the AOK: TC the original music is replaced, I'd have loved to have both available while I Play,.

  • @darkhawk116 I hated the start song of TC for a while because of that. Same, since it's a fucking beautiful song once I got over myself

  • La Hire's sword is not enough bloody

  • howdoyouturnthison

  • This may have already been mentioned before, but look up Gameranger as it still has hundreds if not thousands of people playing Age of Empires 2 and it is free.

  • YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • GotY 1999 - 2011 :)

  • when i hear this music and play this game theres always one question :

WHICH FUCKING 2 IDIOTS COULDNT FIND THE THUMB UP BUTTON

  • WOW talk about a flood of memories when listening to this..

I remember playing this game almost nonstop back in 7th/8th grade. Now I'm 22 and working full time. Car payments, insurance bills, credit card bills, credit card bills... etc etc etc.

SHIT, I wish I was 13 again and the only "huge" concern was a 4-page research paper due next week.

  • Long live this amazing piece

  • Mandatum? Yay?

  • can i has shamburger?

  • @Fuckfan77 How much is a Shamburger?

  • This music brings back some really good memories. Lots of epic battles on this game!

  • the 1 person that disliked this video was obviously tormented by the vikings in their youth

  • I came.

  • This song represents my entire youth!!! Miss AOEII so much!!!!

  • aoe2 shits all over aoe3

  • Who likes the owl?

  • The English are terrorizing ALL of Scotland, and its time for us to fight back! But if we are to defeat them, every one of us will need to learn how to MARCH AND FIGHT!

  • @Flash91s First, RIGHT click the soldier NEAR the flag!

  • @Flash91s If you pretend its a PE teacher talking to his kindergartner students, that first intro takes a whole new meaning :)

  • Nostalgia'd hard.

  • I remember hearing about stuff in history class, then rushing home to make it on AOE, fucking great times, i miss that game, i dont know where the fuck it is,

  • Wow memories man....... memories..........

  • you can still play it via IP connect or using a third party online meeting program like Gameranger for example, it has worked for me when i wanted to go play. btw Gameranger supports Multiplayer over Internet for over 600 games now on PC alone

but maaaaan this song sure brings memories back, old and good memories, did you know that the engine in AOE II is the same as the one used for the first game.

AOE is epic and the best, vote yes if you agree with me.

  • beautiful song.... have it for the PS2 .... good times :)

  • Whenever i hear this song i think of The AE2 mongol campaign

  • A W E S O M E

Age of Empires were the days, totally :D

This must have been my favourite song my entire childhood :D

  • discovering sheep while building farms at the start of a new game... <3

  • This song makes me think about: - Poor villagers beginning to gather resources and start an empire; - The 30 recorded phrases from the game - Every single campaign and their heroes - The first town center (the ragged one) - The hypnotic movement of the villagers doing stuff - The early Middle-Ages - My childhood

  • Sad song :(

    MSN Gaming Zone R.I.P.

    :(

  • @ZombieT3 great fucking times, i had 2.3k ratio : D

  • @xChaud 2.3k? what was your nick? :) I knew everyone from 2.1k++ :)

  • @xChaud nick u lier?

  • What the crap is a Shamburger? lol

  • @MikeIronweaver56 A burger made of Shamwows?

  • @MikeIronweaver56

A "shambuger" can be two diffrent things, it is either a hamburger made with ingredients other than beef or a surname.

  • Very very good

  • just a wooow :O

    it was my fav !

  • Dammit I learned so much history from reading the info in this game and playing campaigns!

Epic music, epic game, epic everything.

  • CoD fanboys say what you want, but this is perhaps the best game to play at LAN ;)

  • @Dracion1 what is LAN?

  • @Naruto00122 Short for LAN Party. Basically, you get a bunch of friends together with computers, link them together, and play games. Nerdy, but immense fun.

  • Great music, great game. like so many other people this brings back alot of good memories. being a kid and having no worries, playing one of the best strategy games ever. When you play this game as a kid you would get so drawn in and really into the time period and all that. now though, if I played this I would get mad every time i was interrupted or reminded to do college work lol im gona buy these games again, so many good memories.

  • Being an AoE nerd is suddenly so much better than being a WoW nerd...

    ...

    ...

    ... :L

  • @Zirotecha i have respect for your nerdness lol

  • Man this brings back so many memories...

  • Barakshu mashri duskoo lamtrigo barto kuski?!!

  • i love how on nearly every age of empires music video there are people reminiscing about how they used to play the game, and you can just see the nostalgia overwhelming them, even over youtube.

as i move through life, i will always retain a computer capable of playing this game. when my kids are old enough, i will show them it in the hopes that it will be as enchanting and educational for them as it was for me.

call me sad, this game is part of what made me who i am today :L

  • Hey tokwok2, going off of what you said, AE2 is what inspired to to be a history major in college. When I was little and would play it I was fascinated by the historical lessons that would play for each civilization, and I would read all of the historical descriptions that were pages long in the game. This is the most special game I've ever played because it literally shaped me into who I am.

  • Proof, please.

  • How could I possibly prove it?

  • I don't know.

  • When I play the game now I dont get music anymore, and its no settings which turns on music either... What to do, what to do

  • @Kempshaw BUY the game

  • @SexWagonPT

    No some computers do that.

  • yeah, music comes from cd ;D

  • @xChaud yeah but when i play more than 30 minutes, the music stops... i imported the sound in my itunes, the only bad thing is that there exists only one song with length of 30 minutes or longer^^

  • yeah i have the same probelm :(

and i also have the CD i got this when it was out so its nothing to do with legal or illegal copies!

  • @Kempshaw Get the cd and put it in, stop pirating.

  • @Kempshaw press the button which open the start menu, then go back in

  • @Kempshaw 13 thumbs ^ for that..?

    Er..? Don't N0CD crack it..? l0l

  • @Kempshaw download soundtrack, burn on disc, and play during game =D

  • @Kempshaw it is on ur original CD, u can use CDEX to rip it. if u play download version u dont get music. If u want the music onthe back ground, just use media player to play it and then run the game.

  • @Kempshaw I use a CD with the mp3 files on there in the right folder (leave others empty) and as long as the songs match the call name of the program (AOE2) then they work. Sites have the downloads for le songs. :P

  • @CBDK8009 Also, I feel silly for not having scrolled down and noticed a lot of people offering better solution. Damn you new youtube comment design!

  • @Kempshaw There is a way to play the MIDI versions (from the trial versions - they go in \sound\midi in your AoE2 directory). Still seeing if MP3s are possible.

Such a wonderful game...back when Ensemble was around to make MSFT awesome. Now, we have AoE Online...pretty, but absolute trash compared to AoE2.

  • Memories! omagosh the memories that come flooding back to me when i hear this track.. times were so much simpler as a kid.. no worries at all...The campaigns taught me more about history than any actual school would.. The only bad point of this game was that ZONE had to close down which was one of the darkest days in history:(

  • fuck, i want this game back SOOOOOOOOOO bad!

  • i always loved the music in this game and all the atmosphere... they should make a remake with better ai ^^

  • wow, hearing it outside AOE, you fully appreciate it. When you're playing it, you don't even notice how good this is.

  • the AI sucked playing against because they made so many damn bombard towers and took hours to destroy them all. for every one you destroyed another villager would just build another one....still a sick game online though

  • i rember playing this ever day weni was litte and once u get it ur hookd

  • i gotta agree with like 95% of the ppl commenting to this vid/song.......man that were memories.....fighting the cpu with the japans as a kid....oh man....too good i still have the game

  • I cant lie but this song is so relaxing, that's why i love it

  • Can I have some Shamfries with that?

  • lol, spamfries

  • This music is so nostalgic I cannot help but love it.

  • Yes, I played this game as a little kid all the time, and I love music like this and I'm sure I will for the rest of my life... I am a VERY nostalgic person

  • same with me partna

  • i love this music sooo much it's soothing and the most amazing music i've ever heard in my life, it kinda makes me wanna cry when i listen to it

  • Me too, nostalgia racks my body...

  • Firefox is so slow when it entered this video

  • You, like anyone gives a fuck.

  • AoE2 was my second ever computer game, I've played it so much it's definately one of the best games of all time.

  • I 100% agree

  • I still have this game in my room, and i haven't played it for 2 years!

i'm planning on starting to play soon!

  • Suprisingly it was Age of Empires II mobile that got me into the game...and the same music was on it as the desktop :)

  • u can still play it online on game ranger

  • i love this song!!!

  • AoE2 was my first computer game...

one of the best games ever without a doubt

  • AoE2 was also my first game xwinddancerx, my dad showed me this game and i miss it so much and nothing beats any of the Ages but AoE2 was the best when it was on the Zone, still dont kno why they shut down the Zone, i really miss it tho

  • My first too. My Uncle was playing it when we went to his house for a family party, and ive been playing it since. AoE gamer since 2001!

  • @XWinddanceRX if only mw2 could bear a scale to this game

  • @hailTHEfail Dude this game is a classical that still holds up to the test time and playability. No one is going to give a shit about MW2 bu the time MW3 comes out. But this, this game is on par with like Morrowind or Fallout 2. You know, games that sticks with you. That always stays at the back of your mind and speaks to you as you play lesser games.

  • @DissentingDogLevi Lol nice, i had felt what you just said in words, thank you !

  • All versions of this game rocked, especially AOE 2:Conquerors.

  • Geez, this soundtrack is pure pleasure, really.

'tis been a long time since I took command over an epic ciy/fortress and planned my skirmishes :D

  • all of my history knowledge for school came directly from this game

  • @kaiserkarlzoso same here i wish they wi=ould keep making games like this instead age of empire3 was all about new world order and rubbish

  • @kaiserkarlzoso fucking this

  • @kaiserkarlzoso no kidding, this game has been the source of my Zealish like addiction to history and that is why i only get A++++ in school so no wonder why i was the best in History class. and this game also helped me a lot with the small handy wiki inside, can be found in the first AOE but opens in a secondary non FS window but still pretty nice knowledge here.

  • @kaiserkarlzoso i think every aoe2 player in our age made the same experience :D

  • @kaiserkarlzoso Question 3: What is a murderholes?

  • @Anuranpostage Holes in castles where soldiers would pour molten tar or something onto soldiers sieging them?

  • @kaiserkarlzoso true i know more about middle age warfare from this game than from school

  • @kaiserkarlzoso Same here. I'm more interested in classical history, so my only knowledge of the Middle Ages is this game.

  • Age of Emipres II = Ownage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice, and yep, it brings the memories. AoE I, II, AoM ftw.

  • great memories

  • Stumbled across this song on YouTube... Now I'm installing it as we speak... haha

  • Such an awesome song

  • "how do you turn this on " best cheat ever xD

  • hahaha yeah it raped.

the first age of empires and the expansion had better cheats tho..

like the one for the robot and photon man and big daddy. there were a lot of cool ones.

  • lolz robots and future tecnology in the greece/roman era :D

  • The soundtracks on all Age Of Empires games are fabulous.

  • wow... this brings back the times where ame n my firned OWND at this game. found it under a harry potter book...HAHHAA

  • i think i will install this game again :D

  • This is the most heard of the game cause is the first you hear every time you start a party.

  • i remeber this song about 5 years ago now... and i was around 6 this song really does give me memories today i started to play aoe 3

  • omg<3

  • I used to play this when I was like, 4

these songs are stuck in my memory!

  • heh I borrowed this game from a friend and didn;t give it back for a year, English Longbowmen were fun to mass!!!

  • I can't believe it was 11 years ago. I'm having a nostalgia attack right now

  • Oh i know, what you mean. i found that game when i was cleaning up. there was a thick layer of dust on it. still reminds me of the good old LAN parties :)

  • same. who needs drugs when you can just play music from old games? sends an amazing shiver down my spine :p

  • I remeber this song as clear as day.

  • I loved this listening to this song when I played Age of Empires II. I was so addicted to it, haha. It took my parents great effort to remove me from the computer if I had school the next day.

  • Wow.. that song is half my entire life :(

Still makes a tear drop from my face every time that I hear it :O

  • Yup. Your not alone on that. =/

  • @MouthofSaurons same here man it is so damn nostalgic, kids nowadays do not appreciate true work of art like this.

half my life has passed since it was released, on that time a few houndred KB/S was unbelievable and gigabyte harddrives were in size of about 40-50 normally or up to 200.

heh it's amazing how fast games have evolved in a few years and advanced.

  • where can i get these soundtracks? please tell me.

  • Reply to this video giving me your email and ill send it to u. i got all Aoe2 and AoM songs from colector edition packs

  • galbadia hotel

  • Comment removed

  • Doesnt it sound different in the game?

  • I think this track was unofficially the age of kings' theme. Amazing how much of a difference music can make when building an empire, lol.

  • 1998 dilburt, simpsons, flight simulation and MSN just started.

  • I remember this song T_T

  • I think I am going to cry xD

This song right here is a big part of my childhood ^^

  • i played this game when i was 4, my uncle who is becoming a priest in taiwon showed it to me. its AWESOME. better than AOE 3. and the conquerers song sucked ... whoever convinced the makers of the song to not put in AOE songs is messed... this is my favorite song.. how can i rip out the songs from the AOE disc?

  • I like the way that if you just put the disc in you can rip all of the ingame music through a media player. This music takes me back to the days of dial-up.

  • the good old tiki ki ka kah, tiki ki kah;

    xD

  • Its a shame there wasn't an option on conquerers to have this music on it.

  • yea.... :(

  • lol do this, put in the conquerors Cd, and when you get to the main menu take it out and put in the Aoe2 cd in it, and when you play it will ply the same stuff as aoe conquerors exept it plays aoe2 music! :D
