@Nickpatient Mike does a lot of odd things vocally over the course of their set, much of which has to do with how he handles the mic...Imagine everything that as a typical vocalist you're told not to do with a mic. Now imagine Patton using all the odd sounds and feedbacks from those mis-handlings as effect. He uses that mic' because it gets him the best overall range in effects with those different handlings. He's much more than just a singer, he also uses his voice and mic' as an instrument.

Completely agreed. Look at everything he did in 2006 (because it seemed he was releasing something every 3 days or something then). He's one of the few singers that treats his voice as a "sound source" rather than a "medium for lyrics with melody"... emm.. possibly cos he can do a bunch o stuff with his voice thats well hard for pretty much any1 else.

If it's a shure sm57 then a lot of vocalists use this mic for both studio recording and live performances. They have quite the frequency range.

@brainboob Yeah, but he's using it as a handheld which is weird because it picksup noise from behind the mic and if you hold it, it makes farting noises. He later moved onto the Beta series 57a which he used forever. The cool looking ones.. You can see him using them from late Bungle performances to the FNM reunion at Download. :)

1 week a year the show is recorded in open air on the south of the country during "Le Festival de Cannes" which is the french "Movie Awards"
