  • yea my guinea pig died today of age

  • @BarnhartClan that's so sad!

  • Yea he was wheeking. Wheeking is their way to say they want something.. usually food, but severe wheeking is a sign of them being scared. My guinea pig wheeks when he's hungry but he'll also wheek when he wants to be held.

  • My guinea pigs do that when they hear squeaking because the vegetable compartment in my fridge squeaks and that's where we keep the lettuce

  • @Gonk42 That's odd. I'm sure it is just the guinea pig senses, they squeel like this alot. Maybe they are just hungry (:

  • @TheGuineaPigKidz Whenever they heard the squeaking we would then give them lettuce so I'm guessing they figured that whenever they here a squeaking noise that they get food.

  • that sound means hes hungry or happy

  • It's squeaking for food. Many guinea pigs associate a rustling bag with food.

  • This is the noise mine make if i split them up. its call for another guinea pig or person. Mine makes this noise until i come back and pick him up or they sometimes to it when they dont want to be in the cage alone if ive alreayd picked other pig up

  • there are three theorys of mine-

1- it heard some kind of sound that resembled food

    2- it is very scared

3- it is calling to another guinea pig (if u have another)

my guinea pigs have made that sound for all of these reasons

    hope it helps

  • @TheCreamsoda9 it hink being scared sounds more like wheeping.

1 and 3 i can see, cause it looks like a child.

    usually its 1.

  • Hes A Baby & He Wants Food.

Thats What Babies Do When They're Hunqry

  • I agree with some people here: he's not happy at all - wants food (vegetables, fresh greens, carrots, hay, etc.) or company. He can be unhappy about being left in a place that he's not explored yet, so he wants to go home or looking for his mates/parents/partner

  • name me cookie and get another one nammed cashmier so i can rape him lol

  • That call is for attention, either he is lonely and wants you or some piggie company, he's hungry or he's very unsure of his surroundings and wants to be found.

Really though, you probably should not have got a pet guinea-pig before knowing all these types of things first. I would possibly consider getting him a friend if he hasn't got one already.

Also how old is he? He is rather small.

  • possibly also that it needs to pee or poo, our piggies does it when they need to go :)

  • @GraceUnderPressure1 OK thats so dumb, "Maybe we should run down the list of sounds this animal makes before we get one to know what they mean"

  • @crabbigail2007 I know this is late but, in my opinion I think it's best to know your pets body language because for one, if you don't know what your pet wants you're going to have an unhappy animal.

  • give it some food

  • Give it food or a friend

  • Give me food
