A 2006 "new" cast recording can hardly be called the "original." The orginal cast of the Fantasticks went to the boards in 1960!!

@keirafan7 I believe what Victor1930 meant to express in his comment is the performances on this "New Off-Broadway Recording" (2006) pale in comparison to the performances of the original cast, e.g., Jerry Orbach as El Gallo, et al, on the "Original Cast Recording" (c.1960) ~ and I couldn't agree more ~ in tune, but bland, milk-toast performances compared to those delivered by the original cast; special and spectacular.
