Deep Purple without Ritchie isn't the same I think. Shame that things went so bad in the band and Ritchie left.

Steve is a great player but I regret that I've never had the opportunity to see them with Ritchie live.

I was there, at Ritchie's second to last gig! Holy mother of God, I've been to many concerts since then, but nothing beats the MKII show I saw. Rainbow 1995 comes in close, but MKII... How can anyone compete with that???

Btw, I met him (and Gillan and Glover) the day before the gig. We stayed at the same hotel, and drank at the same pub:-) Memomries for a lifetime!!

Yes, I did talk with him, but it was just a few words. I was way to nervous to start a proper conversation. Y'know, back then, for me, it was like shaking hands with Jesus:-)

This was Blackmore's next to last show with purple.Two nights after this he played with them in Helsinki and that was it.Although I love Blackmore's Night but how can you not want him back in purple to see him play a solo like this?

Yes, Blackmore is fantastic, no doubt,but I don't feel that joy and friendship between them.Check for Lazy from 1972 and you will understand...Ritchie's ego destroyed it!

I agree. Listening to DP with Morse I think ooohh yeah great music, but enough to hear live in stutghart or anything from 69-73 and you see the differance. MK 2FOREVER!!
