PPS this song sounds freakin HILARIOUS, like Stevie Wonder, when you put it through a long attack envelope filter, like an Emma Discumbobulator or Ableton Live's Auto-Filter
Featured effect is an AnalogMike Stereo Bi-Chorus, synched (approx.) to the half-note. Other thingies in the chain: TC M2000 reverb + Retrospec and Behringer compressors.
PS I think it wasn't Mike's energy that made him smile when he played his tunes... it's the notes themselves... seems like every hedges cover people smile when they play
Well, in my case, I think that was an, 'Oh, I effed *that* up!', eye-rolling smile. Prolly. Uh huh.
Michael's smile? He was a natural showman. A bit of his energetic performance and positive output was professionalism I think, but the majority was surely genuine joy in his own ability to manifest such beauty and share it with the world.
No wonder players are smiling. Anyone who can approach what he did, even a little bit, should rejoice!
you know, listening to Mike's albums, I think he records with neither fresh nor dead strings, but somewhere in between, likely closer to dead. Listen to the low A string on Hot Type, for example, it sounds like a flatwound lol
Yes! Nice observation. I heard: top bright, mid slightly dull, bass dull.
I've looked at a few more of your vids now. You certainly are an intrepid and fearless player. I hope you make a play date in the SF area someday. (I don't get up to P-town much)
Really loved the Debussy! Fantastic! When it was playing, my girlfriend called out from the other room, "what is that?!?" She plays keys and that is one of her favorites. Thanks!
Great Job, you planning to sit in with CGT?

Thanks for the kind words! Never even dreamed of it, although I could play at the restaurant where they're eating maybe?

Changed strings tonight...

right well the chorus is tasteful. The autofilter sounds dope too but it kinda turns it into an abomination of our dear mentor Mike...
I love TC. Someday I'll have enough money to own an all TC rack, but until then, I'm okay with yamaha, lexicon, aphex, and behringer!

DAMN! It sounds amazing on an electric!!! Not to mention the hands playing it are good too!

Thanks! And this with dead strings, too. The final version will feature fresh strings, improved visuals, and less caffeine!
