  • yes can this be used for bass? i'd really like to know as if its good for it i would defiantly get one.

  • @henry12350

Bass players do use this pedal.

You should try one out to see if its right for you.

  • guitarstuffplace

yeah, its a gaurd over the tube that rise out of the pedals

  • Does the actual pedal have a wah with it?

  • Does anybody know what the thing with holes in the middle of the pedal is, is it something to guard the tubes in the pedal? i don't know.

  • That must be the coolest strat i've ever seen!

  • Is that how Pagan's Mind gets that cool sound at the beginning of "Evolution Exceed?"

  • SOLD!!!!!!!

  • I would take off that ugly pickguard and put on a pearl white.

  • it screams!

  • Oh putain je la veux!

I've got the Hot tubes and it's really amazing. But I want this one too.

As the video goes it gets better and better...

  • That trill effect is really cool in a creepy way

  • Nothing better than EHX pedals, wanna have 'em all.

  • sexy as balls! any idea about the price

  • $180-$200 us dollars

  • This guy is the perfect reviewer. He doesn't show the weird stuff as a joke, he shows at as a spectacle for the potential.

  • @BCarey2293 Agreed. His demos are the best. He really pushes the envelope with pedals. Just like a test pilot. He always makes them sound great too and finds all the sweet spots.

  • Can this simply used as an envelope filter with out any distortion like the Doctor Q? Thanks

  • Yeah, you can. You can just turn down the drive and input gain knobs, and turn the master volume up.

I bought one of these. It's a really cool pedal. You can get so many different sounds out of it... It's quite confusing. It takes a long time to figure out how to get the most out of it.

  • Can this be used for bass?

  • If you need a envelope, try the QTron (electro harmonix)

  • @ddoogg1979 I use it on my bass, and it rules.... It can make some crazy funk sounds, i just use it for the filter, only a tiny bit of drive. When you do that though its not quite loud enough for me so i use a Tech21 bass character pedal after it to build it up nice and beefy. All in all though i would have got an Enigma Q, but it didnt come out till after i got my tube zipper. it cost me more in the long run

    SHORT ANSWER>>>> YES!

  • @ddoogg1979 yes

  • @ddoogg1979 Bass players do use this pedal.

You should try one out to see if its right for you.

  • is there a non-tube pedal that's similar to this? would that be the q-tron or q-tron plus??

  • tube amps/pedals are expensive but if you got a tube you got something good

  • the bassballs is similar.

its supposedly just for bass, but i've tried em out on guitar. Fuzzy Envelope Fitler.

  • A tube filter pedal with balls! I wonder the Tube Zipper there is an expression pedal input.

Can it be used for bass? Thanks!

  • HOLY BALLS I NEEEEEED THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is probably the coolest pedal i have ever heard.

  • I use this pedal, & it's just excellent !

  • Hi, I have the tube zipper and it is a great pedal, but I am not able to put it in "self isolation" (final part of the video), even if I set the knob position as in the video. Maybe there is some other effect in chain?

  • It's "self OSCILLATION" not "ISOLATION!!!"

LFO (low frequency oscillators) usually can do that by themselves...

  • A good pedal may leave you looking for some quality self-isolation time... :)

  • ehehe you're right! Could be a great name for your next pedal (hint!!!)

  • Yeah, that's right! :-)

  • @EHX Hey I loooooove EHX pedals and I got a strat that I wanna play some pink floyd sounding stuff (after barret left) What pedal may you recommend to brighten up my tone?

  • Get a Black finger tube compressor, use the middle/bridge selector on your strat, and put any delay after.........Gilmour sound dialed in!

  • yehaww

  • you can play it for funk to abstract noise.

the tube zipper can be a tube driven oscillator effected by the envelope of your signal. dial in out add tubes, gain, overdrive, filters, saturate the feedback, distortion, tube oscillator and make it all respond via sensitivity knob.

one of my favorite pedals ever.

it has it's own distinct and alive character as an envelope pedal.

    like it's alive...

  • I'm guessing this pedal is great for funk music ?

  • i love their pedals and this guy kicks ass. he sounds like the mr rogers of guitar pedals..

  • I have an Old Q-Tron and an English Muff'n (Overdrive). These two combined Sound really simular, Only difference is My Q-tron sounds very dirty and It can't produce thos peeuw, peeuw sounds.

  • I think I might start off with the big muff

  • They really are different sorts of pedals -- the Big Muff Pi is essentially a classic fuzz, whereas the Tube Zipper is essentially an envelope filter that also happens to have a sweet tube distortion.

  • thats a good one sounds good with everything also

  • wow, thats really cool!, id love to have one!
