1:18 wasnt a hit confirm or a link into super.

It was a Buffered far s.HP into super done at a range it would only cancel into super if it hit a limb.

From the looks of it the Zangief pressed SPD or walked forward a bit too much and got hit by the buffered normal.

@icantspellthis exactly, he's buffering rekkas, light punches. he's pressing lp, while buffering rekkas. u cant buffer a button, u press them. its an option select because (vice versa) if it whiffs nothing comes out, if it hits, a super comes out. that is still an option select, because he is giving himself more than 1 option. OS doesnt just mean if it hits nothing comes out, its defined with giving yourself more than 1 option. havent u heard when they say daigo OS's c. mk into fireball

@icantspellthis its an option select. read forums, or watch streams with sp00ky, james chen etc ive heard them all call it OS. so its the same term. if low forward whiffs, nothing comes out, if it hits, the move comes out. that is essentially what an option select is, giving yourself more than 1 move. i dont want to argue about it, u have your opinion, i have mine. and glad we sorted the other issue about buffering the moves and not a button

@yahoo1o1 If Zangief blocks, the super would have still come out. So it's not an option select. An option select is supposed to, no matter what you do, be safe. Are you safe after a blocked super ? Hell no.

@shunsuK1max Sorry man but the other guy's right. An option select isn't necessarily safe, it's just when you use inputs to give yourself more than one more. ie, two different options/outcomes the game selects on its own. In this case you either get a whiff, or a hit then a super.

tl;dr: option selects aren't always safe.

@SupremeCream9000 It's easy to pull off! Ace does it the hard way but if you go from crouch back and do the start of your super db, df, db then, when in your second down back, hit the crouching fierce and then just go up and kick. Et voila! db = down back, df = down forward btw
