I must say this is the most beautiful rendition of this song I've yet to hear. I have the sheet music for this but it's very simple, don't like it much. they're not long anymore.. but in this video they don't go past the fingertips, so that's a perfect length (for me anyway) when playing piano but still thinking about appearance. I don't get why people fuss so much about it.

I'm glad to hear that the nails aren't that long anymore. How long will the nails stay at the "perfect" length before they start clicking on the keys, therefore straightening out your hand and destroying your form? You play too well to be worrying about pretty nails. I think the majority of pianist give up long nails in pursuit of crystal clear playing.

What you do not realise is that not everyone plays piano for a living, but for relaxation, as a general hobby. People who aren't after the perfect technique, and play their own specific way for comfort and not sacrificing anything. I get told while playing guitar "Your thumb shouldnt show" "Your picking is wrong". If someone is happy with the way they play, you should NOT tell them otherwise. There is no wrong way to play an instrument, only preferred ways.

thanks Chris - I don't play piano very often, the only times I care about if it sounds crystal clear is when I'm recording videos. I'd rather care about appearance than practising piano technique twice a week.. I've tried playing with curved fingers but then they are too short for most chords anyway! :)
