I owned a 1971 ambasador 750.

had a problem with the retainers that held the exhaust pipes to the engine. They would vibrate loose. the rear main seal would not seat right because the case had a crack in it. never push start the bike if the battery is down.

Ihad to wire the exhaust retaining nuts to the heads to keep mine from bcking out also.

I would have kept the stock pinstriping. Adds that special touch. But that's just me, nice bike!
