  • Thumbs if you got this from a brutal death video.

  • Hi! Do you have any video or more complete information about patellar luxation in dogs? what the symtoms are? how does it looks like? How do we recognize a patellar luxation in a dog? what should we do in cases like this? Please!! help me.

  • My dog had ACL surgery a year ago and just tore her other cruciate ligament the other day. It seems to be worse this time as she doesn't stand up very long (the leg that had surgery last year doesn't seem to compensate her weight for long). I'm not able to afford surgery til 8 weeks from now. Is it okay to wait this long for surgery and what about TightRope surgery (this is more affordable). She weighs 56 lbs.

  • TPLO is very expensive. Are there other lower cost options?

  • There are other forms of surgery ("traditional" extracapsular ), yes and then simply rest...TPLO is a good choice for med-large dogs. You're right though, it's very pricey.

  • Hey, I'm proud of myself: I was able to view this all the way through without feeling squeemish (although I did flinch a little at the word 'cut').

Glad to see this project is going well.

    :-)

Is the term companion animal in reference to seeing eye dogs and the like?

  • No, Companion Animal is a term some people deem more politically correct than saying "pets". Some people feel that "pet" doesn't really show how much of an integral part of our families they are. I try to use it when I can. Thanks for watching!

  • I used to work for a vet who would do the surgery for this, tibial plateau leveling osteotomy, correct? yep I was right hehehe!! you just said it! I have assisted in this surgery, not tech work, just clean up, lavage, etc.. love it!!

  • Great! Thanks for the comment and info- that's so interesting. Perhaps we should have come to you for information :-)

  • not at all!! I'll be coming to you!!

  • Terrific job with this video and very informative. Keep up the great work. I love learning new things!

  • Thank you so much- we appreicate you watching. Tell your friends who have companion animals.

  • interesting

  • Thanks for watching :-)
