I have the game. The visuals are good BUT I dont like the lense "filter"! It NEVER looks like a SUNNY afternoon! But like semi-dusk...:-( The filter also makes the colors in the environment look unnatural, like you're wearing sun glasses! Oh, and raindrops STICK on the camera, too! Making visibillity even worse than it should when it rains!

does anyone know how to change tyres during a race? for example, when the race starts it's dry but a few laps later it starts raining. how can i change tyres to wet??? when i go in pit they put me dry tyres again! ?????????
@Chillys94 if you are racing in career mode then BEFORE YOU START THE RACE you go to the tyres option in the garage area thing. then go down to strategy and you have to schedule your pit stops before the race. Thats the only way I no how to change them
it depends on yours controls but on my controller you press left, then you should see a list of settings appear, tyres,engine etc, just select tyres and the compound you want and it should be changed to that compound when you pit, you can also use this to change your engine settings during the race.

There is no podium. There is no game pole position team triumph. Game developers were able to upload these things to the game. Ideally, you get a game press conference. Game disappointed me.
I'm having a hard time on this game, even on easy. I never win a race, I always lose control and spin out on the track, and I'm just frustrated. Not worth my 60 dollars if you ask me.

very good game only thing that pisses me off i get the blame for most crashes and collisions on expert with realisic rules and flags,sometimes when rammed from behind,or after a spin out and the AI drives into me.

@lxxMVPxxl yea your missing out. the game becomes so much better as does any racing game once you use a driving wheel but if its a shit wheel it can be annoying so go for a logitech wheel
worst game ever!!! the graphics is nice but the gaming.. the drivers are put some extremely fast laps -1,-2 sec better laps then in real life! And its happens all the times when u are the fastest on the circuit. i completed 7 seasons now in the game... i won 6 championship in professional settings but u will never win in legend options.... mostly if u use kb.....

GTR & evo and rfactor are phsyicless compared to f1 2010 . This f1 game is pretty damn close to actual scale and phsyics . It's not 100% perfect but from reading all the post people compare it to games that are garbage , they seem to not have a clue about formula 1 .
F1 2010 is as close as you can get to the real thing in a video game . I doubt 90% of these posters could even make a single lap without whining or crying .

I just thought of this idea :) why dont F1 2011 have all catagories such as gp1 gp2 gp3 ect and in the career mode you could start at the lowest catagory and work your way up to be the ultimate f1 driver and create your own player :)
This game gives me a headache and gives little sense of speed, the animation can be jerky (PS3) and the car handles like a go-kart - very disappointed. I much prefer the F1 Championship Edition - which I play quite a lot, but was really hoping 2010 would be great...

It a real f1 car in rain it is damn near impossible to drive unless you know what your doing. The only reason you like the old version is because it drove the car for you. I was racing at Kuala Lumpur today and halfway through the race i noticed droplets of rain, still had to pit aswell, thought i could make it to the end of the racing seeing as i was 4th. Into the final lap it was so heavy i couldn't move because i thought it couldn't get worse and Prime tyres will do to the end. The rain went heavy so quickly i was going through corners of 140mph at around 50-60. I finished 7th. Tough luck eh? haha
I completely screwed up my Lotus at Kuala Lumpur. I bet on it staying dry, set up the car for dry, when the rain hit on lap 5 I dropped from fifth place to being lapped twice. Good times.
@squirlybmx This game fucking sucks. The graphics are good but the gameplay is atrocious and twitchy - and no, I don't mean twitchy in a good way either, like a real F1 car. If you want the best F1 experience visually, buy this game. If you want the best F1 experience driving wise, its Geoff Crammond all day long. Even rFactor handles way better.
This game doesn't fucking sucks. It's a lot of fun, especially online. But you are right at one point: The GRAND PRIX-Series by grandmaster Geoff Crammond is still by far the best F1-experience in the history of videogames. Would be great to see GRAND PRIX 5 one day, but I fear we'll never see it... =(

@600145 Have you set the weather to dynamic......also i will more likely happen in full length races.......you can check the weather status and the likyhood of rain in the garage before a race.......It has happened for me and i can say it is awsome when rain starts pouring mid race and you can feel the tyres gradgually loose grip
@600145 Silverstone for me, bout lap 9 it started to spit, by lap 12 it was chucking down and I then proceeded to have to pit twice to go from inters back to slicks as the dry line appeared, amazing
well i bought the game yesterday and i installed it, but at the end of the install it gave some kind of error, but the install was concluded. when i was going to play the game for the 1st time it said this: Wasn't possible to locate the entry point of the proccedement alSource3i on the dynamic hiperligation library OpenAL32.dll.

played this for 8hours today fucking amazing game but apart from in the pits, in real life they would let you go when an on coming car is coming but on the game i was 3rd then i was in the pits then all the cars came down the pit then i ended up 20th its so annoying

@600145 Yeah i had that same issue, Also could improve the laggy feeling on wing mirrors. Hopefully they'll be up for F1 2011 and focus on damage and pits.

@XtreMeNiinJa Yeah it's because this was their first F1 game for PS and Xbox in 4 years. Their main priority was to have modern game graphics and add their new dynamic weather system and stuff. Of course the career too. If they go for F1 2011 they'll be focused on damage for sure!
@skaterlukeH I've been playing this game on multiplayer system link for the past 2 weeks (I work for a codies studio but not the one that made this game!) I love F1 and racing games in general and my honest, unbiased opinion of this is that it's the best F1 game I've played by a long way. It's not totally sim but feels much more real than Grid but when you nail a tricky set of corners it feels great. Best played against people who want to race properly and not just pile up in the 1st bend.

I've only done time trial so far.First impressions are good.Everything on mine was automatically switched to 'off' e.g. traction control, based on a set of questions they ask at the begiining of the game. So i've experienced the toughest possible gameplay. It's tough but fair. It didn't quite feel right on the controller, but playing on the racing wheel, the game transforms. I expected better graphics though, graphics not as good as Grid,Dirt 2 (PS3)
Guys is there anyway to turn off the automatic go to change tires ? I`m playing in a carrer and ever time i do that i finish 23-24, and practicaly i fail every challenge i have in the game. Thanks in advance.
Well, when you must go in the race at the garrage to change your tires. Is anyway to avoid that, never to go to garrage. Every time i do that (every race) i finish last
In races from 20% till 100% you have to change tires once a race. No way to avoid that, except from racing in the rain. When there's rain you don't have to change tires. But changing tyres doesn't have to be so dramatic; you have to break at the right time, when you're close to the mechanics. The better you do that, the shorter is your pitstop.
Also, when that guy tells you to come and change tires THIS lap, just wait for another round. Then there is less traffic.
im so dissapointed at this game, the handling is 100 times better in Rfactor... And the traction control......... you can flat out in the middle of any corner without spinning off... terrible terrible game

I just thought of this idea :) why dont F1 2011 have all catagories such as gp1 gp2 gp3 ect and in the career mode you could start at the lowest catagory and work your way up to be the ultimate f1 driver and create your own player :)

This game gives me a headache and gives little sense of speed, the animation can be jerky (PS3) and the car handles like a go-kart - very disappointed. I much prefer the F1 Championship Edition - which I play quite a lot, but was really hoping 2010 would be great...

Sorry but this game is SHIT! wasted my money in buying this..... the grafix is dum compared to Need For Speed Shift ! the best in every thing! except no Rain :( The F1 2010 game play sucks as well!! and the loading screens take long so you can have a shit and still make your cuppa coffee in between ! "figure of speech but it dose take round 30 seconds etc,,, so dont bother with this, if u whant a real sim defently go for Need For Speed SHIFT ! I want my money back on this F1 2010 one.....

yeah :p i have my cpu about 2months, and love it every day more and more :p The heared the i5 is also good and the i5 is cheaper then the i7 but stills gives a good performance... GTX470, i don't have experiences with the 470 but it sounds good i bought the MSI GTX480 1500mb for 550euros.. but till now it's an awesome vid cart :)

@robin89705 wish i did have one made up,, will next time,,, i had Vista and it whent poo again and couldent get it onto windows, but in the end my freind fixed it back up but i all ready got a new one,, the HP i5 2.66ghz 8gb ram blueRay DVD, 1 terabyte HD Windows 7 prem, and a crap 300 watt power supply with a dum nvidea geforce a230 1.5gb (said to be like a GT 9600) cant wait to throw both them out and upgrad power and card!! i recon my old gforce GT 8800 320mb is better! :O :)

i got this game today and i regreat buying it in the first place i want my money back the handling is poor the vibration is soo bad i had to switch it off theres no grip when ure driving in the rain u cant even brake the camera angles are all bad. THE graphics is bullshit i prefer formula 1 championship edition to it. Playing online is useless with all the lagg and players crashing into you. Anyone whos thinking of buying this game, DONTTT i advice you not to its a waste of your money!!

It a real f1 car in rain it is damn near impossible to drive unless you know what your doing. The only reason you like the old version is because it drove the car for you. So with that being said go play mario kart and SHUT THE FUCK UP.

I was racing at Kuala Lumpur today and halfway through the race i noticed droplets of rain, still had to pit aswell, thought i could make it to the end of the racing seeing as i was 4th. Into the final lap it was so heavy i couldn't move because i thought it couldn't get worse and Prime tyres will do to the end. The rain went heavy so quickly i was going through corners of 140mph at around 50-60. I finished 7th. Tough luck eh? haha

If you want the best F1 experience visually, buy this game. If you want the best F1 experience driving wise, its Geoff Crammond all day long. Even rFactor handles way better.

But you are right at one point: The GRAND PRIX-Series by grandmaster Geoff Crammond is still by far the best F1-experience in the history of videogames. @600145 Have you set the weather to dynamic......also i will more likely happen in full length races.......you can check the weather status and the likyhood of rain in the garage before a race.......It has happened for me and i can say it is awsome when rain starts pouring mid race and you can feel the tyres gradgually loose grip

well i bought the game yesterday and i installed it, but at the end of the install it gave some kind of error, but the install was concluded. when i was going to play the game for the 1st time it said this: Wasn't possible to locate the entry point of the proccedement alSource3i on the dynamic hiperligation library OpenAL32.dll.

played this for 8hours today fucking amazing game but apart from in the pits, in real life they would let you go when an on coming car is coming but on the game i was 3rd then i was in the pits then all the cars came down the pit then i ended up 20th its so annoying

@600145 Yeah i had that same issue, Also could improve the laggy feeling on wing mirrors. Hopefully they'll be up for F1 2011 and focus on damage and pits.
I get penalties for something i don't do. I just go wide on corner exits, someone like hulkenburg comes through the outside beside me and pushes me, i get a warning.. D;

@skaterlukeH I've been playing this game on multiplayer system link for the past 2 weeks (I work for a codies studio but not the one that made this game!) I love F1 and racing games in general and my honest, unbiased opinion of this is that it's the best F1 game I've played by a long way. It's not totally sim but feels much more real than Grid but when you nail a tricky set of corners it feels great. Best played against people who want to race properly and not just pile up in the 1st bend.

I've only done time trial so far.First impressions are good.Everything on mine was automatically switched to 'off' e.g. traction control, based on a set of questions they ask at the begiining of the game. So i've experienced the toughest possible gameplay. It's tough but fair. It didn't quite feel right on the controller, but playing on the racing wheel, the game transforms. I expected better graphics though, graphics not as good as Grid,Dirt 2 (PS3)

In races from 20% till 100% you have to change tires once a race. No way to avoid that, except from racing in the rain. When there's rain you don't have to change tires. But changing tyres doesn't have to be so dramatic; you have to break at the right time, when you're close to the mechanics. The better you do that, the shorter is your pitstop.
Also, when that guy tells you to come and change tires THIS lap, just wait for another round. Then there is less traffic.

Yes, it is a problem in when running shorter version of the race say, if you run 100% you will not get this problem.
