Poetry that must rhyme and flow to a consistent beat, it is often put to hip hop, alternative or indie rock, funk, or (more commonly these days), electronica. even sometimes punk and metal. The rapping itself isn't music, it's a form of spoken-word (or "urban") poetry. Do some research, or just rant like some uneducated GOP voter

@MadMoked I think they cut it because it was considered a musical performance. I saw that they put something about that on the White House YouTube page. Someone else on here posted the performance. A bit of it is cut out but it's still powerful.

You see they cut out Steve Martin's part also that's cause he sang a folk song (something like that) with some other guys. So it just happened to be that way they didn't purposely cut out his part.

@MadMoked I think they cut it because it was considered a musical performance. I saw that they put something about that on the White House YouTube page. Someone else on here posted the performance. A bit of it is cut out but it's still powerful.

@MadMoked they only cut Common's part because he had music playing in the background. It was basically more like a song and they can't put that in here idk why. You see they cut out Steve Martin's part also that's cause he sang a folk song (something like that) with some other guys. So it just happened to be that way they didn't purposely cut out his part.
