The xbox has a safety feature, where if there's a problem during start up it wont run, instead where the green controller lights are they light three red to let you know there's a hardware problem. Normally because its over heating so maybe a fan is out, or the power supply ins't constant so check all the plugs are firmly in place. if it is a hardware fault the warranty covers it.

yeh, you gota rip ur cds to the xbox harddrive, think it uses mp3 encoding, then you can choose to play albums, playlists and random tracks, and they continue to play throughout the games, even through loading screens, makes for some good chilled gaming sessions.

possibly, cuz i use my mp4 player with usb, its comes up as portable storage, and i know they added support for ipods too, not sure bout psp tho, if when u connect it to a pc - it pops up as a removable drive, then it'll probably work.
