  • I'm also into Anita Baker,Sade,Phyllis Hyman and Angela Bofill.

  • Now that's my kind of jazz.

  • shit is voted thumps down by accident sry

  • @Andikillaaa LOL no problem man! Thanks for watchng.

  • I didn't know squat about jazz until I took a jazz class and was introduced to it, and I have to agree with you John Coltrane was the greatest in my opinion.

  • Nice collection ! I'd like to get "Bitches Brew" in its collector edition, for its 40th anniversary ... I started to get into jazz a few weeks ago and I love this music so next time I go to a record store, I'm going to buy some Miles and Coltrane :-)

PS : I made a few videos with my turntable, and a song form Distant Relatives ... don't know if you like this album ?

  • beautiful jazz collection!i don't know why this video has escaped my attention for so long but i really enjoyed it.i don't know a whole lot about jazz, but antone with a brainstem can see you have some great names in there.Coltrane is your favorite huh?i'll have to chect him out and get back to you...

  • @dimebagdave77 Hey Dime! Yeah, Coltrane is something else. Make sure the first ablum you check out is Love Supreme! I didn't know who he was until one day I'm in a record store and I hear that album playing and I was like..."What the Heck Is That!". Especially when you know about Coltrane's "Demons" and where he was in life at the time. The song titles and feel make perfect sense. It truly was an lp where he was sharing himself.

  • @mrhoffame demons, now im REALLY interested! was it dope?nah, don't tell me!

  • oh yeah and were do ou get thos plastic sleeves from i got a few that just came with the albums i bout but i dont know where i can find them for the other ones

  • Hey i really enjoy your videos! pls keep them coming i am starting to collect now and would love to share when i get more and i couldnt agree more about a love supreme!

  • Nice collection. Good taste although I'd argue that Kind of Blue is the best jazz record of all time (A Love Supreme is close though ;-)).

I was raised on CDs and digital music but I'm putting together a nice little vinyl setup. I have the components ordered so now it's just a matter of putting it together!

  • Well it would'nt be much of an arguement lol!! Kind of Blue is right up there! Amazing that was done in like 48 hrs huh? I guess that is what makes it so magical. It was so real and not over produced.

Thanks for watching and post some of your stuff when you get a chance.

  • Strange question: I have been wondering how one keeps the LPs from sliding out of their protective outer sleeves when pulling them in and out of a vertical storage shelf like yours. Do you try to keep a certain capacity per shelf so that the LPs are not too difficult to slide out?

  • Actually I know exacly what you mean. I do go through my racks sometimes and tighten them up but I do make sure that each space is not 100% packed in. I always leave enough room to flip the records as wells as enough room to be able to slightly lift the record when pulling it in and out! It is the rubbing up against the record in front and behind the record you are inserting that causse that. At least for me.

  • I am a 16 year old vinyl collector and I live in southern illinois where jazz vinyl is scarce. however, my gunt and uncle moved to california in the 60's and my uncle really got into jazz. When he died my aunt sent me his records. a bunch of good stuff, mingus, gillespie, eddie davis, jimmy smith, He would plae or twice and put them away. Theyre all in mint.

  • Hey,some excellent jazz albums! Miles at Carnagy....wow....Thanks for sharing! I have a few record vids up...will do one jazz soon. Check it out.

  • do you have both verions of the ascension by john coltrane on vinyl.

  • Love your taste! Jonah Jones! John Coltrane!

Brubeck of course (I just bought a 1st stereo edition of Time Out a few weeks ago)

Holy crap I also have that George Benson LP!

Count Basie is good. I have a bunch of his 78s.

Found that same Louis Armstrong LP in 2007 in a garage sale. :-)
