I never got the hate that so many people had for Aeire.

Yeah, she whines a bit, but she put almost her entire personal pride in her beatuy and her wings, and then they were ripped away from her in an experience that would be understated to be called traumatic.

And clearly they never saw, a through a relationship with her you could make her a better, stonger person, while she helped maintain your innocence.

And isn't improving yourself and your partner what a relationship is about?

Man this game was just magic and one of the reasons why none of us will ever see another game like this is because this game was made during times when game developers created games with heart and soul when they cared about the games they made now all we have anymore are just developers who just throw out games to make money

@Raubez I think the rights to some video game music must to go the composers, who can then sell it to other places. I've heard music from Planescape: Torment in both a TV show and a movie.

@Raubez I did ask on the BG2 section of the Bioware forum when that was actuality. The gist of the Idea was that the composer or Bioware had agreed to let them use the music. But I never got a better answer than that.

I remember how I played BG and listened to this when I was young... I liked this music, but not with such soul.. more later I was played again in BG and I cried when heared this music again... It contains so such loss, sorrow and grief, tragedy within. I think I could not apprased it when I was young. But now completely can... It is masterpiece. I love it.

For me, Baldur's Gate 2 is and will forever be the greatest RPG of all time. When I completed Baldur's Gate 1 with Add-On and Baldur's Gate 2 with Add-On for the first time with one character, I felt completely empty. Such an epic story with so many characters I loved and suddenly... everything was over. I didn't know what to do because there was nothing left to do. The whole story became a part of me and I'm really happy that I could participate. Thank you, Baldur's Gate, you enriched my life.

I couldn't find anything comparable until finding Final Fantasy 9 along an entirely different direction of RPGs, where video games are used more for storytelling. I slightly preferred the latter, but its a shame no games since have surfaced to master the field of story-making as Baldur's Gate 2 did.

The Baldur's Gate series was the singular greatest RPG game (PC) ever. Nothing prior or since has even come close. The games disorganizer said were other greats that should be lauded and celebrated but Baldur's gate was the best. I am hard pressed to even think of a PnP campaign I have been in that has matched it. I can honestly play that game over and over without getting bored. Voice acting, soundtrack, story; all were amazing. To call this game a benchmark would actually be unfair to others.

Forget Icewind Dale Dragon Age, forget Drakensang, dismiss Mass Effect and Fallout 3 and toss your Neverwinter Nights out of the fucking window. No RPG has made me feel like when i was playing baldurs gate 2. None. PERIOD. Well, Final Fantasy 7 maybe, but thats a whole different genre. And no, Baldurs Gate 1 wasnt better either.

Baldurs Gate 2 is greatness unparalleled.

Viconia was a real challange. You had to have just the right combination of being a a nice caring guy, yet turn around and be a dick at times to her to show your strength.

Aerie is VERY easy, just be a sweet guy to her. and she'll eat out of your hand, Jaheera just isnt my type, so i never tried with her:)

Jaheira's romance was difficult and summarily the most rewarding, but you had to have played through the first with her to understand how truly historic their relationship was.

Aerie's character was naive and innocent, something both attractive and annoying. Her affair with Haer'Dalis and the need to overcome her lost wings served to pull you in.

And Viconia's change from evil and untrusting to a (reluctantly) loving partner, how the very idea of genuine emotion was alien to her, was sweet.

I took Aerie as romance for my neutral good warrior. (He was importet from the first BG)

If I play the game again I take a chaotic neutral Sorcerer and get Viconia as romance.

I'm not really interestet in Jaheira, she's just to mean to my charakter.

What you do is you get a ranger at the lowest level you can and dual-class him as a cleric. Result? Full-leveled killing machine with all friggin awesome cleric spells (blade barrier, holy smite, flame strike, righteous magic, sunray) AND druid spells (call lightning, iron skins, insect plague, dolorous decay, nature's beauty). Way better than multi-classing cleric/ranger instead...

Aerie got me to like the cleric/mage multi class. I thought all multi classes were stupid till I got Aerie. She was pretty useful healing and dealing damage. Only drawback is she couldn't use armor till you get the elvenchain waaaayyy later in the game.

I don't understand. Why did you think multi-classes were stupid? Fighter/mages are a very good class to play with, so are ranger/clerics. Dual-classes are awesome too. The only downside I can see with some multi-classes are a few restrictions on armor and weapons, plus the fact that it took longer for them to level compared to single classes and kits.
