If you dont abide by "unforgiving interpretation" of text in a book it means medievil recrimination is to be applied. Religion should answer for suffering caused. The biggest donators are the Saudis, and that is a fact. There was a short fall of about 2billion dollars in this years budget that the saudis covered. But nothing comes free. Through this economic imperalism, saudi arabia has exported some of its culture as well and we see some of the results.

i can respect religion and the laws that go with it. however... are some of the laws unrealistic today? we are supposed to be evolving as humans with greater kindnes , respect, and freedoms. suppresion belongs to the past with all due respect. it is the man who stares at such beauty that is wrong, instead he should break his look out of respect. staring is rude. beauty is not a bad thing and should never be hidden. the woman to have feelings and should be treated with respect. ban the burka :)

i am sorry and apologize for my point if i made the burka sound as disrespectful. i understand the religious tradions of it. however i do not feel a woman should be beaten if she shows her face or some of the hair on her head. i think the east views the west as treating woman as sex objects. that is false. besides , i have seen the eyes of some of the woman that cover there face. the eyes is the window of the heart. there beauty is not really hidden. so i guess i have contradicted myself.
