I grew up in Asheville. The town is great. It's be called "the little San Francisco of the South." But you have to live in town or very close to it in order to get the benefit of the town's liberal bent. A work of caution though, about 10 years ago, Asheville was listed as one of the best little towns to live in and since then the population - along with the cost of living - has skyrocketed.
Yeah, I'm pretty familiar with Asheville. I tend to escape there quite often but the cost of living there is way cheaper than San Fran so its not that bad.

So not only are you mid transition,but you've broken up with your girlfriend,moved like three times. Got kicked out of your Dads place. Parents & Town are still adjusting to you as a Guy. & Doctors are three hours away? Jesus.. You must be a pretty balanced individual to not crack under that kinda stress. If I were you I imagine leaving that town wouldn't be too bad. But you'd know if that's wise. Not me. Take care dude. Ur an inspiration.
