The Corrs first album was an absolute gem, arguably one of the best debuts in years. This is a disgrace to the Corrs (Andrea singing with a faux American accent), to the Blue Nile and to music. She should have learned not to mess with a classic when she tore "Old Town" apart. I'm absolutely appalled at her "Pop" approach and complete lack of feeling. Paul Buchanan must be holding his head in his hands. I'm hoping that this is just a bad dream. (",)

Hillarious. Right up there with Sixpence "very much the poorers'" There She Goes. Maybe Andrea could do a whole genre smashing album, Freak Scene - Dinosaur jr? Something by Shirley Bassey. Pubtastic.

I told my husband that I'd heard this on the radio yesterday, twice and was horrified. I'm a big Blue Nile fan, he is not. His opinion was it's Andrea Corr and she is gorgeous and can sing anything. I've just let him hear it and he has changed his mind. If you're a Corrs fan you will love it but for Blue Nile fans it's awful.
This song,not this version will live in my heart for always.I loved the Blue Nile,it's what growing up was about in the 80's.I like the Corrs but Andrea do you really need the dosh now?

Absolute crap!!! i cant believe anyone would have the audacity to even try to cover this song! Some songs should simply NEVER be covered !! Anyone who thinks this is any good seriously needs their hearing checked. Its nothing more than a mediocre pop song. The Blue Nile takes YEARS to master their arrangements. this sounds like its been knocked together in an afternoon.
@mishkin1878 Sorry, but there are certain songs that should most definitely remain untouched, due to their timeless genius. 'Tinseltown in the Rain' is one of those. You could make an exception for a solo artist that has truly earned widespread respect to attempt a cover, but I don't think Andrea Corr falls into this category. Admittedly, I was baffled by the Corrs mega success years ago, so that factors a bit here too.

No offence to Andrea and her fans, I think this is awful. This is a song ful of opportunities for joy, sorrow ,full on emotion, social commentary and it sounds as though she's singing about candy floss. Fair enough she had a go, I can't wait to get to the Blue Nile now.

@niallredmond What nonsense! There are plenty of covers/ tributes/ remixes to most people's favourite songs. Why obsess over it? You may not like it, but I can tell you that a large number of people will prefer the slicker arrangement of Andrea's version, and her vocals, dry and without echo effects, and IMO generally more pleasing to the ears. Yes, it's a version you love, and have attachments with. I don't. I've never heard it before and I couldn't care less about it. All art is subjective.

Although i absolutely love the corrs and of course Andrea..i feel like after she seperated with her siblings , her music is so whatever..this is the only track so far that i quite enjoy but most of the other tracks...argh...i hope she would stick to either really pop songs or the "Ideal World" type.

,the song eleven is so beautiful and very melancholy !!!and the other ten songs are
