  • very tight sounding motor, crisp exhaust tone. any idea how much power it has? and what kind of mufflers?

  • whats the total cost on your conversion?

  • Listen to that engine...

  • I have one too. What rear end did you use? I still have the 7.5.

  • I have an 86 s10 shortbed with a 400 in it. It runs but I just dont have time to finish the damn thing!!!

  • Nice daily driver. Have you taken it to the track yet?

  • @dragstar7039

Thank you very much! Only once, it ran a 12.70 but the truck was cutting out at the top of the gears because it was particularly cold that night and the carb honestly needed larger jets in it.

  • thats sweet man... im building a 383 stroker for my 92 s10 longbed

  • really like the way it sounds I need to get mine back together

  • great vid, I have got to get my truck back together soon lol.

  • WOW BUD, that thing is SO FUCKIN BADASS. Jesus, i want one NOW. Except im gonna end up dropping a 350 into it. You can only get what monet can buy.

  • That Neon SRT-4 was scared. Hahahaha. Sounds good, I bet its a handful. I'm building a 388 for my '80 C10 shortbed. I'm gonna run a T56 6 speed though.

  • @vwman70

wow, a t56 will be fun in there. good luck with the project!

  • dude thats one bad ass truck gotta love a chevy...nice

  • @stingraystud

    Thanks a lot bud!

  • Holy fuck that's dope. Is the v8 swap really difficult? I wanna drop one in my sonoma but not if it's a real bitch to get in.

  • @dtpchilli4life Usually it isnt getting the v8 to fit that is the hard part b/c you can buy v8 motor mounts, headers, and so on. It is all the other stuff that gets frustrating, tedious, and expensive. You will have to have the correct transmission, and if you happen to have one that bolts up to the v8, is it strong enough to hold the extra power? all the wiring, the radiator. Pretty much it is a good sized project to start from scratch. Very rewarding when done though!

  • how do you insure one of these? just insure it as a V6?

  • @redneck1994

Yea, what ever engine pops up from the VIN is what it will be insured as.

  • Man I really want an S10 or a B Series/Ranger with a nice V8 now =(.

  • ha. They are fun trucks, even if the motor isnt producing lots of power.

  • NICE S10 lucky sonor

  • I just now noticed that is has the same paint job as that suburban.

  • ha, yep. We repainted the s10 tho. gloss black on top, orange on the bottom.

  • @zachws6 Nice, I bet that's pretty awesome.

  • I like the truck dude...Im ALMOST done with my 1982 S-10 Pro Street ,383, Muncie 4-speed,A/C show truck... I have a 1991 S-10 450 hp on my Channel for sale now...It was raining when I took the video, so I couldn't show how mean that sumbitch really is...It ran a 6.02 in the 1/8th on 10in Mickey Thompsons.....Im gonna miss it, but cant wait to drive the other..

  • your truck is going to be awesome. i'll check out your vid as well.

  • Fuk painting that thing...throw a rear bumper on it and DRIVE it...it sounds awesome..............

  • whitch mufflers do you have on the truck ??

  • In this video, I had a jegs dual in/dual out muffler. I later switched to flowmaster 40s b/c i liked the way they sounded at a higher rpm.

  • got to love torque thrust D's ,,,,,, nice truck man real nice.....and im a ford guy lol

  • what type of rear end do you got on that beast

  • what a car!!!

  • curious what headers and if long tubes what kind of ground clearence?

  • hooker stainless shorties

  • Is it a Standard or a automatic ???

  • semi-built 700r4

  • Shweeet, not judging your ride in anyway, Would of been cool though if you had a 5 speed manual transmission in it :S

  • Nice job on the truck sounds good enjoy it.

  • ooooh ok

  • damn it sounds good!!! what kind of muffler you got? check out mine its a lil project that a i got oing on,,,,,,

  • thanks a lot. it was a jegs dual in/dual out muffler actually. sounds similar to flowmaster 40s.

  • yall musta won the lotto or somethin cause u really dont look that old to be affordin all those sick parts for these nice GM's

  • my 81 i have posted i've only got 5000 CAD into it. all of a years work.

  • What mods other than the engine swap were needed to place the v8 in.

  • Engine mounts, new radiator (If you planning on getting higher HP out of the block) If its a v8 small block no real cutting necessary just new mounts if its a big block be prepared to do alot of welding. New tranny, new diff, you know basically a good amount of the running gear.

  • your mufflers are very throaty sound aggressive may i ask what mufflers you are running on the 1988 s-10? your response would be greatly appreciated. megaRsmith

  • that is the jegs true dual muffler.

sounded killer at lower rpms, but i ended up taking it off for 2 flowmaster 40s later on.

  • do you know what brand muffler was used for that set up on the jegs true dual system or even a part number or could you lead me the right direction so i can order them ?!!!!! Thanks for your help,MegaRsmith

  • It was literally a jegs brand muffler that came with a kit that was designed for v8 s10s. i think i still have it. i could ship it to you, for a little money. the thing was only on the truck for a couple weeks.

  • Also what size is the pipe 2 1/2 or 3 inch on that muffler?????

  • Well sounds real healthy, I should be getting another Swapped S-10 in a few days if everything goes as planned. Cant beat the Revs that a stroker can handle.

  • How did you get 388? My SBC stroker motor .40 over came out to 391. and I thought the .30 over was the 383? or is

.20 over 383 an yours is .30 over?

  • was a 350. then bored .60 over with a 400 crank

  • what length rods you running < heads?

  • what cam do you have in it?

  • cam is comp extreme energy 278 intake 286 exh . duration . and 490 int 490 exh. lift . .. 1.6 roller rockers and stud girdles.

not crazy aggressive but got the job done. ha.

  • right on....at first I was thinkin man thats not much lift, but I see you compensated for it with the 1.6's :) do you like that extreme energy cam? just curious.

  • yea, the 1.6s took it up to .520 lift.

  • man, i can't wait, im going to buy an old s10 and do this..about how much was the swap?

  • it depends on how much you spend on the motor initially. that could mean $500-$7,000.

but honestly, after you buy the s10, 2 grand can get A LOT done.

  • i mean just a stock 350 would work for me at first, then ill start modding it...im sure it will be a DAMN fast ride with just that lol. how much do you think it would run me, for a stock 350 and the other stuff. i really want one.

  • WELL i dont know mutch but

if you build the engine from short block up its cheaper but your going to need some tools

and it you do a v8 swap your going to have to change EVERYTHING from mounts to rear end and gunna have to beef up the frame

its alot of work iv never done it but i know

  • r those torque thrust II's on there?

  • yes sir

  • nice im lookin into gettin an 86 s10 and doin the v8 swap to a 400 sbc i wanted to build a 95 s10 wit the v8 but did some research and they heat up real easy due to lack of grill space

and man that is a nice truck

  • very respectable truck! even before paint.

  • i dig the matching paint schemes

  • Nice. so when are you going to post a vid of you smokin that srt 4?

  • ha, i dont have footage of that, although it could. the srt pulled off a 13.1 though.

  • What kind of horsepower you got in that? sounds good

  • thanks. its around 475 at the crank.

  • sounds and looks great

  • thanks a lot! looked much better after we painted and lowered it :)
