@Uniflux Afraid I'm going to have to disagree with you, I'm the proud owner of a Razer Pirahna Headset, a Razer Naga mouse and a Razer Lycosa keyboard. I'm an avid gamer and I find that Razer's build quality is amazing, I'm also a programmer by trade, so I type an awful lot on the keyboard and I have absolutely no complaints.
the normal lycosa has problems with the rubber on the keys where they melt from heat/sweat or just rub off should i get the mirror version ( yes it gets fingerprints but you can just wipe those off )
@XxWolfpack247xX I have the mirror version, love it. Just try and keep your hands clean, and not sweaty ( hard when gaming, I know ) and it limits the amount of marks on it. If they really bother you just get a microfibre cloth and give it a wipe over.
the gold plated is actually a worse conductor than silver gold is just better because it is a softer metal so it can go into slots better but great review
@Andey17 yeah sure ! wake up noob, why do you think all the older cpus and even still ALL the dimms are gold plated? duh,,give your fathead a shake man !
£110 and 18 months later, I'm happily smashing my desk and throwing things around the room. Finding new drivers, new firmware, new tips, new tweaks, new hardware, new software, clean pants and socks, a t-shirt for the day and a shirt for the night, new config layouts/set-ups and new operating systems.
Yeah. I needed this feature so badly, it's why I programmed the first one to do exactly what I need. And also why they gave us those extra buttons. So... wait, was I against or against this feature?
Oh and just to throw it into the mix, the resource hogging config's are useless and assign things to the most useless keys. For example, the mouse has one of it's numerous buttons assigned to profile change. I love it when I accidentally hit that during a game, or when I'm using Photoshop and drawing a line or dragging something on my desktop and for around ten seconds the mouse is even more useless and I cannot move the cursor. And then my new profile (like its facbook) is enabled.
There are two buttons on the furthest side that exactly mirror the useful ones on the other side. These ones are useful too, and I click them with the extra finger I have to the right of my little pinky.
Oh and the mouse has the same gloss black and furry matte black as the keyboard. There are two actually useful buttons under your thumb. The scroller is cool, lights up and clicks down. But then there are two button on the top, in line with the scroller, nearest your palm though, that I cannot physically reach with the middle finger (that I might use more wisely right now) that I use to scroll and right click.
A cardboard alternative just wouldn't have soaked up my Budweiser drippage like this does.
Spectacular.
It's like they researched it or something.
It gives me rashes.
On my hands.
Oh and if you love it when people dog ear books or your house mat curls at the edges, the gaming surface does it to stop gravity taking the said *beverage of your choice* drippage onto your desk. Obviously.
The on-board USB port never seems to work off the bat or at all and the headphone mini-jacks next to the USB port require my typing fingers to fight with the lead that trails over my keyboard to my ears. The USB connector that connects the keybard to my pc, has lots of wickle fwends. There's Mr and Mrs's USB, and the baby twins, Audio and Microphone Jack. They all have lovely days and nights clogging up all my ports like a bad case of the Flu.
The media section in the top right seemingly has no LED's and as a result I cannot see any of them, and generally just for sh*ts and laughs every now and then, I smush my hand over it to see what happens. I often accidentally press the LED Profile switch and have to cycle back. The hand rest slope bit at the nearest end to my body serves only to annoy and bruise the outside of my wrists.
The blue backlighting of the keys and the black of the keyboard plays a kind of stereogram trick on my eyes at night, and renders them useless during daylight as the LED's aren't bright enough. The CAPS LOCK and num lock (and that other one) buttons LED indicators are so bright I can still see them winking at me from below as I look at the screen.
The keyboard was once glossy, I cleaned it with a glasses cleaner cloth the day I got it -Oops, I scratched it. I had fun enduring the next year, with a dust covered keyboard (at least I couldn't see the scratches anymore :D), the keys, being some strange, furry, matte black material, gather all the spunk from when I'm jerking off, which I then can't wipe away for risk of scratching the gloss.
I like Razer. Thanks to them I now have anger issues. I frequently smash my fist to my desk in a joyous manifestation of how much my hardware pleases me.
I have actually cried once or twice.
And because said hardware was so reasonably priced, I don't have money to replace it. Yay.
That's probably because I bought this mouse for £42.99 and also the Razer Lycosa Keyboard for £52.99 and also the Razer Goliathus Gaming Surface for £12.99. That's a meagre amount of almost £110.
the microsoft x8 mouse is better, it's cheaper, has bluetrack, up to 4000 dpi, LCD screen in mouse, sidebuttons, left-right scroll& up^-down scroll,... and much more!
razer is like a fucking money lusting company they charge like fucking 80 and up for their mouses and like 100 plus for they keyboards.... and 60 plus for their Headsets
Could you tell me what's the difference between the sepecial edition keyboard version (Lycosa mirror special edition) and the normal one please? I can't seem to find my answer anywhere. I am going to purchase the mouse and keyboard in a month or less and wanted to know, so I can have my light up blue LED computer theme Please could you help me out before then? Thanks, Melanie
@Meowzers20 The mirror edition is very glossy and almost mirror like. Get that one, because the old one's keys are rubber (which feel great but get totally destroyed in a month).
The keyboard is HORRIBLE it constantly will have keys stop working or constantly repeat uncontrollably. Just Google it there are millions of hits for this problem :( Their customer service is horrible basically calling you a liar and tell you that you are not having this problem.
The gold part of the mouse connector doesn't even do anything... The mouse would be just as good if the connector was made out of plastic. It's just the housing for the 4 pins inside...
im a dumbass am i.. 32 years in the electrical trade.. I think i know a thing or 2.. Everyone knows silver and gold r the best conductors, silver is to expensive and gold doesnt hold heat like other metals... Hence the reason most electrical components are gold plated... Learn a thing or two before u make yourself look like a fool.. At least u gave me and the boys at work something to laugh about.. Fukn NOOB
so you think that the transfer of data is the same just because it has the same plug?... Hmmm interesting.. As is said in the video LATENCY is the key.. Gold plated terminals r proven to be better for conductivity and faster data transfer... :D
They r not gold pins they r made from copper.. We will never get sold gold pins or usb heads because gold has a lower melting point of all Metals.. Doesnt anybody do electronics anymore? Does everyone watch youtube and believe? LOL, You are all funny people
Lemme say again, they don't heat up to the point where metal will melt, I mean, even if electricity does pass through the USB, would you actually say that the temperature before you put your USB in the port be increased just by leaving it in there for some time? You have a USB keyboard dont you? plug it out. Tell me if it heated up after the entire time it was in there...Do you think a a company like Razer would be stupid enough to make a product that will literally fuck your PC?
@0xXCSSXx0 Let us know when you know what the fuck you're talking about, retard. Gold plating is for making a better connection since it's a soft metal.
@pushpoppushpop It lasted about 3 months, then the sensor started screwing up, the mouse would randomly fly across the entire screen, and the DPI was screwed, up. 1000 DPI felt like 4000 DPI and 4000 FPI felt like 500 DPI. It was terrible, but I purchased the Deathadder and I'm very, very pleased with it. I've had it for about 4-5 months now and everything so far has been fine.
So because you had one bad experience with the mouse, ignoring the possible fact that it might have been defective, it sucks. Ignorant people are the best :D
@Slapmaster5000 Well isn't it the company's responsibility to make sure they don't release defective products? Isn't that what makes their products good or bad? One defective product means many defective products resulting in a bad product altogether.
This isn't true at all wow, I've had defective electronics that general aren't. You just had a bad experience and so you're going to be biased and ignorant about it. I'm sorry that you lost your money through the purchase, but that doesn't mean the product is horribly designed because you got a bad one.
@Slapmaster5000 It's the company's responsibility not to release defective products. You can be sure anyone who does receive a defective product will be turned away from using that company again. I myself was not. In fact, I bought a Razer Deathadder a few months after.
A company can't ensure EVERY SINGLE COPY of their product is going to work. "You can be sure anyone who does receive a defective product will be turned away from using that company again", have you not heard of the thousands of people who have gotten RROD with their xbox 360's and replaced in multiple times? It doesn't make you some great forgiving person to buy a different mouse. You had one bad experience, the product itself isn't defective unless you magically know all of them are, sorry god.
@Slapmaster5000 That right there proves that Microsoft has no idea what they're doing since half of their consoles ended up getting the ring of death. Thank you for proving my point, Slapmaster.
That's not proving your point at all, are Razer and Microsoft the same company? No, and I was giving an example to show how much of an asshat you are for saying how you're SO different by supporting a company that had ONE defective mouse out of probably a huge batch of working mice. You're just an ignorant dimwit who can't admit that you're wrong, you lose.
lol you sound like a total dick. I'm sorry but wow, 1 defective product and you're the one starting it and then saying that you dont care? Lmao, learn your ignorance
It's funny seeing as I'm not angry, and getting back from vacation it's pathetic you would think so. Looks like you ran out of any points as to why you'd be right, because you're not. You've lost sorry.
@Slapmaster5000 If you're sitting on your computer make this a win/lose game then you're the pathetic one. I proved my point and had no reason to keep commenting on this video. I am sorry that it angers you.
I don't happen to be "sitting on my computer", which by the way is a really stupid thing you said learn english, I haven't gotten angry this whole time. You're the one who got all butthurt because you got a one copy of a product that fucked up, and that there was no evidence that it was the mouses fault. Everyone else who I've talked to or seen review this hasn't said anything about this mouse fucking up, so I jumped in and called you an ignorant dipshit for being so dense and stubborn.
@LQ2DARESQ Ive had my Lachesis for one year and not once have i had a problem with it . it seems that its the person who is handling the mouse who will cause it to screw up . for example I cover it with a cloth at night so it dose not get dusty and i frequently clean the mouse.
@shmowle I kept it in a closed drawer at night and handled the mouse with care, It was simply the drivers/laser's poor quality that resulted in it's malfunction.
poor quality? It's considered the top company and one of the top mouse companies on earth. Just like logitech, no many had a problem but my MX Performance lasted like 1 months and the sensor stopped working and the grip started coming off. But after i got warranty on it the next one they gave me was fantastic, i've had it for 2 months now and there hasn't been even 1 problem. Razer has high quality products, and just because you have 1 problem doesn't mean they're poor quality.
@gallya I didn't "start" anything first of all, I'm just defending my opinion, and all of your internet e-thugs are deciding to PMS all over the comments. You had a mouse that lasted a month, Dell mice last longer than that. Now you've had one that's worked for two months and you're absolutely convinced that you're buying from the best company on the planet.
No but i've had family members that have had the deathadder since it came out and it's still working. You're stating your opinion of 1 experience, and no i did not say i'm completely convinced but i am enjoying the product a lot. If it was such a low quality product i dont think thousands of reviewers would say 8 ~ 9.5/10 for the product, and then think in their head "i'm gonna lie to the people reading this just for the sake of the company."
and you had one mouse that fucked up out of a series of thousands, and you're convinced all of them are bad. Nobody here is being an "internet e-thug" people are just jumping in to attack you because of how ignorant and stubborn you're being.
@LQ2DARESQ too bad I'm not raging, you gave an ignorant opinion and then contradicted yourself. I think it's funny that you keep replying so I'm going to until you realize how futile this argument is because of how stupid you are.
@Slapmaster5000 I have the right to give my opinion even if you wish to deem it ignorant. Hopefully calling me stupid and ignorant makes you feel better about yourself.
I replaced mz old Logitech G3 mouse and G11 keyboard with the Lachesis and Lycosa today. Also bought a Razer eXactMat. Really nice hardware, but the mouse really IS huge, even my XL hands had trouble with it in the first hours. xD
Keyboard isn't that large tough, actually smaller than the Logitech G11, but the keys have a much more shabby and noisy touch, but it still works pretty good.
PS: reading down the product description does not make a review...looks more like a bad advertising attempt. Where is your opinion on the products? Did you even bother testing that stuff?
Did you not listen to a word he said? He gave his opinion on nearly every aspect I could possibly think of regarding these two products. He also has his own rating system, and gave both items a Kickass. I don't mean to rag on you man, just saying, this dude Rodney is pretty damn thorough with his reviews. You should check out some of his water cooling reviews, they're really detailed.
HELP ME!!! My Lycosa's back light would turn off not all the time but sometimes when I reboot my pc. I have configurated it to the point which the back lights should be on at all time. I set it on a profile and I even turn off the power saving feature on my USB ports. Nevertheless, my Lycosa's back light still turns off sometime which is very frustrating. If anyone experienced the similar problem in the past can you please tell me how to fix it? Thank you!
i got both of these in a box (not opened yet) just want to know, which mouse pad is prefferable with the Lachesis. exclude the Destructor. because im not paying that much for a mouse pad.
i can use the lachesis mouse for one hand gaming. the extra side buttons look useful

I can assure you that they do not "do jack shit"

they dont do anything and make no difference bwahahahahaha idiot

Incorrect, gold terminals have a better conductivity.. Transfer of data and power is faster through gold than silver or alloy or steel
MrPCPerformance 2 years ago
@MrPCPerformance bwahahahaha total bullshit youre a fucking dumbass
Hornilope 2 years ago
im a dumbass am i.. Fukn NOOB

AHAHAHA your conversation jst made my day! so im guessing hornilope, you have looked it up and decided not to reply anymore coz ur idiot! LOOOL

no sir, hes not an idiot ;)
0xXCSSXx0 2 years ago
no you see, gold plated dosent make it better at all, a usb only uses the pins inside that are golden anyway xD
0xXCSSXx0 2 years ago 23
so you think that the transfer of data is the same just because it has the same plug?... Hmmm interesting.. As is said in the video LATENCY is the key.. Gold plated terminals r proven to be better for conductivity and faster data transfer... :D
Oh yes it makes a difference..
MrPCPerformance 2 years ago
you have a usb plug somewhere around? look at it, it has 4 pins that are GOLDEN so goldplated gold is better than gold?

They r not gold pins they r made from copper.. We will never get sold gold pins or usb heads because gold has a lower melting point of all Metals.. Doesnt anybody do electronics anymore? Does everyone watch youtube and believe? LOL, You are all funny people

god damn it, you win, NOOO!!! xD so i gues all the ones i have are gold plated

Lemme say again, they don't heat up to the point where metal will melt, I mean, even if electricity does pass through the USB, would you actually say that the temperature before you put your USB in the port be increased just by leaving it in there for some time? You have a USB keyboard dont you? plug it out. Tell me if it heated up after the entire time it was in there...Do you think a a company like Razer would be stupid enough to make a product that will literally fuck your PC?
inzane456 1 year ago 2
@0xXCSSXx0 More to the point, USB is Digital. The data either goes or it dosent.

Lachesis = biggest waste of money
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
why whats wrong with it?
pushpoppushpop 2 years ago
@pushpoppushpop It lasted about 3 months, then the sensor started screwing up, the mouse would randomly fly across the entire screen, and the DPI was screwed, up. 1000 DPI felt like 4000 DPI and 4000 FPI felt like 500 DPI. It was terrible, but I purchased the Deathadder and I'm very, very pleased with it. I've had it for about 4-5 months now and everything so far has been fine.
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
So because you had one bad experience with the mouse, ignoring the possible fact that it might have been defective, it sucks. Ignorant people are the best :D
Slapmaster5000 2 years ago
@Slapmaster5000 Well isn't it the company's responsibility to make sure they don't release defective products? Isn't that what makes their products good or bad? One defective product means many defective products resulting in a bad product altogether.
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
This isn't true at all wow, I've had defective electronics that general aren't. You just had a bad experience and so you're going to be biased and ignorant about it. I'm sorry that you lost your money through the purchase, but that doesn't mean the product is horribly designed because you got a bad one.
Slapmaster5000 2 years ago
@Slapmaster5000 It's the company's responsibility not to release defective products. You can be sure anyone who does receive a defective product will be turned away from using that company again. I myself was not. In fact, I bought a Razer Deathadder a few months after.
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
A company can't ensure EVERY SINGLE COPY of their product is going to work. "You can be sure anyone who does receive a defective product will be turned away from using that company again", have you not heard of the thousands of people who have gotten RROD with their xbox 360's and replaced in multiple times? It doesn't make you some great forgiving person to buy a different mouse. You had one bad experience, the product itself isn't defective unless you magically know all of them are, sorry god.
Slapmaster5000 2 years ago
@Slapmaster5000 That right there proves that Microsoft has no idea what they're doing since half of their consoles ended up getting the ring of death. Thank you for proving my point, Slapmaster.
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
That's not proving your point at all, are Razer and Microsoft the same company? No, and I was giving an example to show how much of an asshat you are for saying how you're SO different by supporting a company that had ONE defective mouse out of probably a huge batch of working mice. You're just an ignorant dimwit who can't admit that you're wrong, you lose.
Slapmaster5000 2 years ago
@Slapmaster5000 Lol someones angwy. Go rageee to someone who cares.
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
lol you sound like a total dick. I'm sorry but wow, 1 defective product and you're the one starting it and then saying that you dont care? Lmao, learn your ignorance
gallya 2 years ago 2
It's funny seeing as I'm not angry, and getting back from vacation it's pathetic you would think so. Looks like you ran out of any points as to why you'd be right, because you're not. You've lost sorry.
Slapmaster5000 2 years ago
@Slapmaster5000 If you're sitting on your computer make this a win/lose game then you're the pathetic one. I proved my point and had no reason to keep commenting on this video. I am sorry that it angers you.
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
I don't happen to be "sitting on my computer", which by the way is a really stupid thing you said learn english, I haven't gotten angry this whole time. You're the one who got all butthurt because you got a one copy of a product that fucked up, and that there was no evidence that it was the mouses fault. Everyone else who I've talked to or seen review this hasn't said anything about this mouse fucking up, so I jumped in and called you an ignorant dipshit for being so dense and stubborn.
Slapmaster5000 2 years ago
Not for me <3
EvasionX 2 years ago
@LQ2DARESQ Ive had my Lachesis for one year and not once have i had a problem with it . it seems that its the person who is handling the mouse who will cause it to screw up . for example I cover it with a cloth at night so it dose not get dusty and i frequently clean the mouse.
shmowle 2 years ago
@shmowle I kept it in a closed drawer at night and handled the mouse with care, It was simply the drivers/laser's poor quality that resulted in it's malfunction.
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
poor quality? It's considered the top company and one of the top mouse companies on earth. Just like logitech, no many had a problem but my MX Performance lasted like 1 months and the sensor stopped working and the grip started coming off. But after i got warranty on it the next one they gave me was fantastic, i've had it for 2 months now and there hasn't been even 1 problem. Razer has high quality products, and just because you have 1 problem doesn't mean they're poor quality.
gallya 2 years ago
@gallya I didn't "start" anything first of all, I'm just defending my opinion, and all of your internet e-thugs are deciding to PMS all over the comments. You had a mouse that lasted a month, Dell mice last longer than that. Now you've had one that's worked for two months and you're absolutely convinced that you're buying from the best company on the planet.
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
No but i've had family members that have had the deathadder since it came out and it's still working. You're stating your opinion of 1 experience, and no i did not say i'm completely convinced but i am enjoying the product a lot. If it was such a low quality product i dont think thousands of reviewers would say 8 ~ 9.5/10 for the product, and then think in their head "i'm gonna lie to the people reading this just for the sake of the company."
gallya 2 years ago
Dell is crap. If you honestly believe a Dell mouse would last that long you have never owned one. Get over yourself and your lack of knowledge.
bridaco 2 years ago
@bridaco I used a dell mouse to play FPS games for more than a year and it worked almost if not as good as my Razer DeathAdder.
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
and you had one mouse that fucked up out of a series of thousands, and you're convinced all of them are bad. Nobody here is being an "internet e-thug" people are just jumping in to attack you because of how ignorant and stubborn you're being.
Slapmaster5000 2 years ago
@Slapmaster5000 I have no reason to keep posting comments to help you fuel your rage. Get over it, I gave my opinion and don't care for your input.
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
@LQ2DARESQ too bad I'm not raging, you gave an ignorant opinion and then contradicted yourself. I think it's funny that you keep replying so I'm going to until you realize how futile this argument is because of how stupid you are.
Slapmaster5000 2 years ago
@Slapmaster5000 I have the right to give my opinion even if you wish to deem it ignorant. Hopefully calling me stupid and ignorant makes you feel better about yourself.
LQ2DARESQ 2 years ago
I don't need to feel better about myself, you need to feel stupid and ignorant, because that's what you're being. Plus you contradicted yourself.

Did you even bother testing that stuff?
omgitsolithegeek 2 years ago
Did you not listen to a word he said? He gave his opinion on nearly every aspect I could possibly think of regarding these two products. He also has his own rating system, and gave both items a Kickass. I don't mean to rag on you man, just saying, this dude Rodney is pretty damn thorough with his reviews. You should check out some of his water cooling reviews, they're really detailed.
mhaneline 2 years ago
OK . I was thinking to buy a G11 but then I fell in love with the Lycosa. What one do you like the most: the G11 or the Lycosa (G11 is 10€ cheaper).

I definetly prefer the Lycosa, only thing that bothers me is that I had to switch from EU to US layout, but you get used to it.

Thank you!
