machida's style matched up really well against rich franklin, because franklin is more of a freestyle brawler and lyoto machida is a counter striker. we saw the same thing with anderson silva vs. forrest griffin.

the one rule in Pride and other Japanese events that i REALLY would like to see implemented in the UFC would have to be instead of standing them up, moving them to the center of the ring and putting them in the exact same position they were in. I understand it usually only happens when there are ropes and UFC doesn;t have any, but the ground game was SOO much better in pride than in UFC. UFC ground fights are boring in pride they were fucking exciting!
