Not surprised really, totally clever birds.

I reckon if you used a key to open it, and left it inside the cage, eventually they would learn to pick up the key and open the lock... after seeing you do it.

Hahaha. That's why when no one's around. I've have to secure the cage door with cable tie to ensure she don't do anything silly.

True, it can be danger for her, if she end up on the stove or toilet, etc. Vet suggest keep toilet cap close, toilet is grave of flying animals.
