Joe Wilson outed his own Wife. Robert Novak said " Valerie Wilson " and the next day olde Joe said " Her name is Not Wilson, but Plame " and then had a spread in Vanity Fair. He is the guilty one.

@micmore007a Get ur facts right or check the CIA hearing for Valerie Plame which was under oath in front of congressmen. Joe Wilson only mentioned (his wife), no name, no identity or picture uncovered. Novak was the first to leak Valerie's real identity by mentioning her maiden name thus making it more specific on who she was. Several WEEKS after her cover was blown did valerie agree to publicize her pic in vanity fair, wearing glasses and a scarf!

In this case, though, it seems Joe Wilson was actually the liar, not Bush. Wilson was sent by low-level cia agents without the authorization or knowledge of higher-ups to Niger. He said things that were later found to be untrue. His wife recommended he be sent.

@Whoo69 "Recommended", not decided upon him going there! He was, according to the CIA, an expert on such matters and was suitable for the role because of his previous experience, affiliations and knowledge. Just because his wife "mentioned" him doesn't mean it had a direct effect on the agency's decision to send him. I expect they take appropriate measures and don't just send ANYONE to collect CRUCIAL information (!). They trusted sending him coz he DID have smth to lose if he leaked info on it!

There are also people who discount the claim that Valerie Plame's identity was "leaked", at least in the sense that she was undercover or doing covert ops, and therefore telling people who she was would damage her own security as well as national security.

@Whoo69 P.s. people say all sorts of things. Even the highest-ranking officials have lied to our faces! When your career and life are destroyed you have to fight! I respect Valerie and Joe for having the guts to go public, even if that was later exaggerated by the media so that they seem like they were doing it only for popularity. Yes, approaching as many ppl as possible was one goal, but the most important side was not popularity but the awareness of injustice.
