Well Ive watched all the 3d sonic game reviews you have and despite how many you said have bad stories I cant help but want to know what their stories are............not much of a sonic fan though so i doubt i'll ever buy a game. XP
I kind of agree, the Black Knight was pretty much an overall an awful game, I really hated the controls because it always seemed like you needed to swing the Wiimote a certain way to swing the sword a certain way and it made it diffcult to beat some of the bosses (I used the tips in the specials section and it still didn't help), I think if they worked on the plot a little more it would have been really good, Arthur and last boss were fun but I LOVE the song "Fight the Knight!" most epic!
not only did i beat this game in like, 7 hours, i cleared all boss fights ( including final and lancelot returns) with no damage. pretty easy for me, but still pretty good.
I beat Arther 2 in less than 40 seconds and I have no Idea how I did it I believe it was 34 seconds the first one was 38 seconds I must've been really good since I can't do it again also I beat Knukles in 12 or maybe 9 seconds but I say 12
Honestly, if Sega were to continue the storybook series, some of my friends and I would like to see Sonic in The Odyssey (I think). Whatever is the one with the Greek Gods.
I love this game. While it is short, it can get difficult later in the game. The multiplayer is a lot of fun, but I would prefer the Secret Rings' Sonic Party. Overall, this game is just a lot of fun and I really enjoy it. I did hate those missions where you had to give rings to villagers. They were really annoying. The knights' battles were also annoying, but there's only 3 of them so I can deal with it.
Why do no reviewers know that you can destroy a whole chain of enemies be homing attacking the first in line and shaking the remote before you hit them? You can cut through enemies much faster!

@shadic57 That's not what makes this game bad, far from it. Those were just things to mention. What I didn't like was that it focused to much on gimmicky swordplay that's waggle motion and some very lazy level desgins. I'm kind of not in either of those categories you listed. I'm the "grew up with Sonic, knows what Sonic is about, and would rather they focus more on the platforming and speed." If they want to add anything to the gameplay it shouldn't take Sonic away from what makes Sonic Sonic.
@shadic57 I wouldn't mind if what they added to new games enhanced the platforming, speed, or was truely unique and added to the experience. Ex: the wisps in Sonic Colors were meant to enhance the platforming since they can get you to new areas that Sonic couldn't get to on his own. I didn't like the idea of the sword but I kept trying to tell myself "it's like his homing attack and spin-dash on a handle" sadly it didn't feel like that to me. If you like this game I have no problem with that.

Actually, this is one of my favorite Sonic games. I do agree, however, about some control issues. My favorite part of this game would have to be the Fan Art gallery! I hope they do that for future Sonic games! =D
To be honest, I could never picture Sonic as a knight in the first place. I know this was made for a Storybook series, but I can't help but question a lot of the ideas Sega has for Sonic games nowadays since some of them feel so "un-Sonic-ey" to me.
personally I think they should have just made the same game but with a new character my reason for this is because sonic games need to give you that sense of speed and characters with swords in video games stand in one place and fight enemies those two things don't really mix very well to me just saying
i probably should have just rented this game instead of buying it after an hour of rental. i kinda regret it after a while. but it's a good game for me to play once in a while if i wanted to play a game for a day. Can I ask one quick question: I have played through both Super Mario Galaxy games, and I think they are amazing, but how is giving the rings to the villagers different than giving the Star Bits and Coins to the Hungry Lumas?
@lukerbom12 Because you have to stop, play a game of move the control stick in the right direction, then do it again and again and again. In Sonic games the emphasis is usually on Speed and stopping to do something...pointless, ruins the flow of the game. Mario, doesn't really mess up anything as stoping to give them coins or star bits only helps you get to new areas.
i agree with some of the stuff in here like the levels and stuff and i also think it was way too short for a proper 3d sonic game if they wanted to make a feel of the 2d games in it they failed epicly

Yeah, I guess I just rushed it for my 2-year aniversary on youtube and I wanted to get 2 reviews done, plus it was hard to get the footage, music, and narration perfectly done, but that's no excuse for my rush job.
I was thinking about getting The Black Knight at first. But it was best for me to skip cause the level design doesn't look decent or proper enough. I'll be waiting for Sonic 4 instead.
I too thought Secret Rings was better than the Black Knight. I haven't been able to play the No More Heroes games yet but I want too. But I do have Twilight Princess and it's more responsive than Black Knight.
That's a great review. I remember when one of my friends played this game when it first came out. She said that it was okay, but it was WAY too short. And yeah, this game looks like it's all flash and not much substance. The graphics look great and the fighting that you showed looked pretty fancy. And that crow was indeed realistic. I don't think it'd even be funny to compare it to the ones in Luigi's Mansion. The crows in Luigi's Mansion QUACKED for crying out loud!
And that's something I'm not going to say infrot of a younger audience. LOL! I laughed real hard at that part! It could be many things but I think I know what it is.

Not gonna lie. I actually like this game. I haven't played my Wii in almost a year because I've gone somewhere where I can't bring my Wii, and this is one of the games I miss playing. Once again, I have to agree with your score. I hate linear Sonic games. Never played this game, but I played Secret Rings, and it's pretty much the same thing.
The game definately would've benefited from creating a new gameplay style to fit the sword, rather than tacking on a sword to Secret Rings gameplay.
Also, MGS4's opening has some nice-looking CGI crows.
I would've liked them to use Wii Motion Plus and actually try to use some strategy to the sword combat besides block and attack (and those enemies that you can't jump spin through). At least I would've given them some credit for trying if they did that.
I think it was very lazy that they basically re-used Shadow, Knuckles, Tails, and Amy. Do you honestly think that Shadow REALLY would have had his future shoes in a world of knights? Come on!
ok I respect your Opinion and all but there some mistakes with this review First of all YOU can Inrcease Your Speed the More Stars you Earn the More You Level up also you can change Styles Your Defalt Style Knight Style is Blanced, Caliver Style is power based and pallidin style is Speed Based also Blaze plays very diffrently to Sonic You haven't really gone very deep into the game I respect your opinion but you don't seem to have gone deep enough into the game (I don't mean Story-Wise)
I rented it for a day, beat it in an afternoon, returned it the next day. But that is sorta what I meant, you don't really level up you just change styles. Blaze does play a little more differently than Sonic but I'd rather play as Knuckles when I can. (A first for the Sonic series for me)
Ok I'll begin by saying that I accually like this game. but there are things that I agree with u about. I didn't mind the fact that there's no stratagy involved and the game is pretty easy and short but it gives me some things that makes me want to play it. I'll answer that question for ya. The chili dog concept was first thought of in the cartoon The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. It was a terrible cartoon, Sega's equivalent to the Super Mario Bros. Movie. So if Sega had to bring in an idea from THAT, it's got to be bad.
I didn't think the cartoon was that bad but yes thank you explaining that. It would be like they made a new Mario game and Luigi is seen eating lots of spagehitii...
Truth is, it was done for those who loved that about Sonic. The chilli dog scenario was added for those who missed that thing about him from the old comics and the ok cartoons. When you think about it, it was about the good old days when Sonic was still cool. Think about it.

I agree with everything in the review, but I still thought the game was ok at best. Since I grew up with Sonic there's always a part of me that says these games are good but that part's dying fast. I at least say it's better than Secret Rings cause there was actual input in the controls, but that only goes so far. Too many people just hated the game from the get go but still went to play it for sooome reason.

i probably should have just rented this game instead of buying it after an hour of rental. i kinda regret it after a while. but it's a good game for me to play once in a while if i wanted to play a game for a day. I mostly bought this game because i like using swords. I actually thought that it was gonna be similar to the 3 musketeers because the trailer made it look like it to me. i was younger then and i didn't learn to not trust trailers after this game. i have a love/hate feeling to this.

to tell the truth sega and nintendo tried to bring their best stars to a new system with mario in space which worked very well and sonic with the storybook series and the sword which was kinda stupid I kinda like the game but I dislike it more if you ask me the cowboy thing would never work work bad from the beginning and this was to one more thing could you possibly review luigi's Manison

well I like this game, its one of my favorites cause the music is awesome, I like the fact that sonic gets a sword, but I do admit the combat could have been better

Can I ask one quick question: I have played through both Super Mario Galaxy games, and I think they are amazing, but how is giving the rings to the villagers different than giving the Star Bits and Coins to the Hungry Lumas?

@lukerbom12 Because you have to stop, play a game of move the control stick in the right direction, then do it again and again and again. In Sonic games the emphasis is usually on Speed and stopping to do something...pointless, ruins the flow of the game. Mario, doesn't really mess up anything as stoping to give them coins or star bits only helps you get to new areas.

i agree with some of the stuff in here like the levels and stuff and i also think it was way too short for a proper 3d sonic game if they wanted to make a feel of the 2d games in it they failed epicly

I gotta say, I agree with the personal faults for the most part. If you've got alot to say, don't be afraid to make your review a 2-parter. Still, the review was excellent, and I'm sure you're aware that I agree with pretty much all of it.

Yeah, I guess I just rushed it for my 2-year aniversary on youtube and I wanted to get 2 reviews done, plus it was hard to get the footage, music, and narration perfectly done, but that's no excuse for my rush job.

I was thinking about getting The Black Knight at first. But it was best for me to skip cause the level design doesn't look decent or proper enough. I'll be waiting for Sonic 4 instead.

I too thought Secret Rings was better than the Black Knight. I haven't been able to play the No More Heroes games yet but I want too. But I do have Twilight Princess and it's more responsive than Black Knight.

That's a great review. I remember when one of my friends played this game when it first came out. She said that it was okay, but it was WAY too short. And yeah, this game looks like it's all flash and not much substance. The graphics look great and the fighting that you showed looked pretty fancy. And that crow was indeed realistic. I don't think it'd even be funny to compare it to the ones in Luigi's Mansion. The crows in Luigi's Mansion QUACKED for crying out loud!

Not gonna lie. I actually like this game. I haven't played my Wii in almost a year because I've gone somewhere where I can't bring my Wii, and this is one of the games I miss playing. On the flip-side, I can understand why you don't like it and yeah alot did urk me. Regardless of us being on opposite sides of opinion for this game, This was still a great review. Excellent job.

Sonic himself sums up how I feel about the game.
Once again, I have to agree with your score. I hate linear Sonic games. Never played this game, but I played Secret Rings, and it's pretty much the same thing.
The game definately would've benefited from creating a new gameplay style to fit the sword, rather than tacking on a sword to Secret Rings gameplay.
Also, MGS4's opening has some nice-looking CGI crows.

I would've liked them to use Wii Motion Plus and actually try to use some strategy to the sword combat besides block and attack (and those enemies that you can't jump spin through). At least I would've given them some credit for trying if they did that.

ok I respect your Opinion and all but there some mistakes with this review First of all YOU can Inrcease Your Speed the More Stars you Earn the More You Level up also you can change Styles Your Defalt Style Knight Style is Blanced, Caliver Style is power based and pallidin style is Speed Based also Blaze plays very diffrently to Sonic You haven't really gone very deep into the game I respect your opinion but you don't seem to have gone deep enough into the game (I don't mean Story-Wise)

I rented it for a day, beat it in an afternoon, returned it the next day. But that is sorta what I meant, you don't really level up you just change styles. Blaze does play a little more differently than Sonic but I'd rather play as Knuckles when I can. (A first for the Sonic series for me)

Ok I'll begin by saying that I accually like this game. but there are things that I agree with u about. I didn't mind the fact that there's no stratagy involved and the game is pretty easy and short but it gives me some things that makes me want to play it. I'm a fan of swords and knights and middle ages stuff. but i did like the sword combat and the speed was ok when I leveled up sonic. plus this was the game that made me want to by SU. Plus I don't care if I get flamed. it's my opinion.

I totally expected that Merlina would pull of her face off and reveal herself to be Eggman. THAT would be a great plot twist.

I'll answer that question for ya. The chili dog concept was first thought of in the cartoon The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. It was a terrible cartoon, Sega's equivalent to the Super Mario Bros. Movie. So if Sega had to bring in an idea from THAT, it's got to be bad.

Truth is, it was done for those who loved that about Sonic. The chilli dog scenario was added for those who missed that thing about him from the old comics and the ok cartoons. When you think about it, it was about the good old days when Sonic was still cool. Think about it.

I agree with everything in the review, but I still thought the game was ok at best. Since I grew up with Sonic there's always a part of me that says these games are good but that part's dying fast. I at least say it's better than Secret Rings cause there was actual input in the controls, but that only goes so far. Too many people just hated the game from the get go but still went to play it for sooome reason.
