lets be honest. If you buy a Z4, your probably over 40 and you drive automatic. No ones gonna buy a Z4 and have it track ........... because a Z4 can easily get beaten by a track monster like 350z, s2000 and miata. Z4 its a nice car to cruise around when your older.
Lots of bickering on here. Fact is the s2000 was made for the track, I see plenty of s2000's in my city but only 3 z4's on the road where I live. I've driven the s2000 plenty of times and I must say it is a better car for the track. Though my 06 z4 3.0i has no problem taking an inexperienced s2k driver on the highway. The z4 (at least my generation) gets way more attention than an ap1 s2k and looks way better (imho). Quit arguing and lets cruise together and have fun :p.
@Nazgul001 type z4 vs s2000 vs boxster in google and see what top gear thinks, and s2000 has a better power to weight ratio along with better handling and a faster roof. z4.. psh whats a z4 when you have a s2k
@GDanielCho Did you just try to have Jeremy endorse your car? Yes he did. No where on top gear of that time does it say S2k's are faster. Also, Z4s get more chicks than any Honda. Even the ambiguous NSX.
@Nazgul001 lol? z4 is a 3.0 making 231hp, haha the s2k is a 2.0 4 cylinder making 120 per liter. the 3.0 is just a fail and i raced one the other day in my s and i got him by about 2 cars and was still spreading the lead. i was even pulling when i wasnt in v-tec haha! the weight on the z4 is 3554 while the s2k is 2800. and it has a 700lb disadvantage. you will need at lest 75hp to take that difference of weight. and the f20 (9k rpm) was the best motor in the world rated for 10 years. z4...nope
@Nazgul001 and to your "girl" comment, im not a person who has to have nice "things" to have a gf or someone by my side. i find i get girls because of who i am and not because what i have, i dont get used because of my car. Its not because of the car unlike in your case? just wondering do you even own a z4?
That said, the record shows that the Z4 makes bigger numbers on the test track than any of the others, if only by a shade. The 5.3-second 0-to-60 squeaked ahead of the Honda by 0.1 second and out front of the Nissan by twice that. The quarter-mile blurs past in 14 seconds flat, again 0.1 second ahead of the Honda, and this time, 0.3 up on the 350Z. All three clock an identical 99 mph in the distance.
its .1 and thats nothing, that could be driver error for all we know.
@Nazgul001 and for what ever it is s2000 is how much cheaper? around 10 grand. and it is a more tunable car with a medium budget. its a honda its more reliable and maintenance way cheaper. so if you wana spend 10 grand more for .1 second then go for it, i hope your happy with your high maintenance. haha, i do all the work on my car, you bmw owners need to take it to the dealership and spend spend spend for .1 second... and s2000 can be modded very easy, unlike your z4
@GDanielCho Daniel - the 3.0 is bullet proof so I'm not worried about needing to fix it. If I do need a mechanic, I have the cash to do it. I can turn a wrench if I need to (you haven't obviously seen my vids). For all the vaunted Honda reliability, BMW has higher resale value. All I see from the two cars, are different approaches on how to make a roadster.
@Nazgul001 your 3.0 is nothing special, people say its a legendary inline 6. that makes me laugh, all bmws are 3.0 inline 6's. so a 4 banger keeping up or even beating it with some simple cheap mods is better than your bmw. try getting some aftermarket parts for your bmw haha. for the s2k theres a endless list of mods

If you want a track BMW it's gotta be the Z3-4M or the M3 A standard Z4 is far to sloppy for the poise of the S2000
