Anders Behring Breivik, Norwegian psychopathic killer, mass murderer and right-wing extremist, in his 1,500-page manifesto, makes several complimentary references to Ayaan.

"Prostitutes cause men to sin. And an adulteress is very dangerous. They take husbands away from their wives. They take men who are not theirs. This happens to more men all the time" - King Soloman.
Adulteress Ayaan, miliant atheist known for being a vocal 'feminist', now homewrecker mistress of married man Mr Niall Ferguson.
@fromwilliams Die. Serriously. You are worthless. If oxygen had self respect you would have suffocatted long ago. Hirsi Ali is the greatest woman alive today. Do the world a favour. Kill yourself.
@fromwilliams why don't you move to saudi arabia? you are afraid of women, so their culture should suit you fine. you don't respect civil liberties, and a muslim theocracies don't either. who some stranger sleeps with is none of your business.
Ayaan has fooled and hoodwinked whites. Mercenaries like Ayaan would sell their own families for money.
In the words of Katrina Fox, editor-in-chief, The Scavenger:
“….( Ayaan) she’s a narrow-minded bigot scarred by her own experiences who has been seduced by right-wing westerners to become a popular mouthpiece for their racist agendas.”
This woman's story was awe-inspiring at the very least! She was as beautiful and graceful in lexicon as she is in person. She is a true hero to critical thinking, and should be respected and heard by all!
@lefredvoncarstein: I laugh at people denying the sadness and wretched living in Somalia nowaday's. Ayan Hirsi might obviously anger a few religious individuals for her debates but she speaks the truth. Though rather the bleaker parts of the truth. She's a great individual but I think people miss the point of her message in that her situation is not unique but quite common and people should take notice. :/
Majerteen represent!!! We got to make an Atheist Somali Alliance some day. Its quite humorous to see some random individual's actually assert that her claims of the gray bleaker parts of somali society aren't true! I laugh at anyone who says there isn't rampant islamic fueled polygamy or the pharaonic pagans rituals/practices of sewing womens privates or gruesome acts of barbaric stoning that occurs(which is something that started occurring after the fucked up civil war). Somali's in a sad way!
Clear thoughts, clear mind and intellectuall honesty shine when this woman speaks. It is so wonderful to see someone get rid of the balast religion imposes to the mind. This trully inspires me.
@ExtraHoney It seems you believe there can't be any morality without religion. That's false. There are all kinds of things in the bible and quran that we know are immoral and wrong, no sane person would defend them. That proofs we judge morality not by those texts, but by our own judgement. Ergo, morality does not come from the text but from ourselves. And what the other guy said, you have no idea what freedom means. It has nothing to do with rape, stealing or killing, those are crimes.
@sogghartha Human judgement is deformed by knowledge, perception and motivational biases, what is moral to you might be immoral even to the closest person to you. freedom in islam is based on commitment and responsibility, freedom without restraints will lead to nihilism, resulting breakdown of moral and social order. I hope this opens your mind to what freedom is.
@ExtraHoney You can't prove anything about where freedom will lead. It seems to be leading free countries a hell of a lot better than ones following some old ass outdated version. Time for an upgrade?
P.S. deformation by knowledge? Keep your willful ignorance to yourself.
@ExtraHoney Really, so if you didn't think you'd have to pay for your misdeeds after this life you'd just rape steal and kill? What kind of an amoral idiot are you? Morals don't come from god. If the only reason you dont murder rape and steal is because you're afraid of the consequences, then you're a terrible, terrible person.
@MegaAwesomePossem Can you control your morals, when you are DRUNK, or under DRUG influence? you could only pick rape, steal or kill, well I wonder why didn't you pick the first two, because what you picked is the result of them??? If we all could count on common sense and own judgement, then why is there prejudice?
Calling people you don't even know idiots and amoral, shows the standard of your morals.
@ExtraHoney Uhm, yes I can, actually. And not because I think I'll have to account for what i've done when I die, but because doing wrong to other people is simply wrong. I don't need any outside influence to know that. "you could only pick rape, steal or kill, well I wonder why didn't you pick the first two, because what you picked is the result of them???" I'm not sure what you mean by that. And I didn't say that everybody is a good person, I said morals don't come from god.
@ExtraHoney As in, you don't need religion to be a good person. And please read what fromwilliams is saying, he is obviously an anti semite, and a close minded bigot. Again, my point is that morals don't come from religion, and that you don't need religion to be a good person.
@ExtraHoney I'm saying morals don't come from god, how is that doing ANYTHING like hitler did? I'm not saying there's a group of people who are unworthy of being alive, i'm not advertising eugenics, i'm not doing anything of the sort you god damn fool. What kind of a person are you? I don't share your beliefs so i'm as bad as hitler? Could you be any more stupid?
Clarification, she encourages proselytism not with the purpose of converting Muslims to atheism but to promote competition against the Islamic faith. She sees it as a lesser of two evils. I concede the point, it is silly. I hope you realize that she is not a major political or intellectual figure. She doesn't carry arms or wear a paramilitary uniform. She isn't a political party candidate. She just happens to be opinionated and has an interesting story to tell. Quite harmless.

Ayaan's repeated bitter attacks on the character, personal & professional life of Muslims is not only appalling but madness.
Her anti-Muslim rants & rhetoric only serve to advance her own agenda.Anyone that supports her agenda is also mad. Ayaan, you are a morally corrupt, serious grub & a juvenile scammer.
Your derogatory remarks, hoax, deceit, delusion, misrepresentation & exploitation of Muslims, glowing innacuracies only expose you for the career con artist & literary hoaxer you are.
3. “We are at war with Islam... you look them in the eye and flex your muscles and you say, “This is a warning. We won’t accept this anymore.” There comes a moment when you crush your enemy."
Reason Magazine, November 2007, Interviewer: Rogier van Bakel
@fromwilliams It's interesting how you spliced her comments. That comment was made with respect to the political side of Islam. It was made after her friend van Gogh was killed by an Islamic extremist and after the Muhammad cartoons controversy. I will concede that the comment was not well articulated. Anyway, do everyone a favor. Be original and stop copying and pasting comments from other people/website or from your old posts on other websites. Really, it's boring and pathetic.
"That comment was made with respect to the political side of Islam".
Oh really, let's continue with the interview:
Reason Magazine: "Don’t you mean defeating radical Islam?"
Hirsi Ali: "No. Islam, period. Once it’s defeated, it can mutate into something peaceful. It’s very difficult to even talk about peace now. They’re not interested in peace".
@fromwilliams I said her comments were not well articulated. You have to read between the lines. English is not her native language. Look at the 3rd statement in that quote, "Once defeated, it can mutate into something peaceful." Clearly, she was referring to defeating political Islam, radical or not. Look at the period when she gave that interview. It was done after the murder of a Dutch artist and violent protests against the Muhammad cartoon. Muslims who advocated peace weren't visible.
@fromwilliams I suggest you listen to the radio interview that Aayan did with Margaret Throsby. It's clear and lucid. It's much more accurate and consistent with what she has been saying. After all, didn't you quote someone about "seeking to understand before being understood?"
Make no mistake, Ayaan wants Muslims to give up their religion. The only path to giving up their religion that this atheist woman has offered Muslims is to first convert them to Christianity. She wants Christians to start proselytizing in the Muslim community.I just have to pause in my chuckling.... this exhortations to Muslims to convert to Christianity make her sound more like Billy Graham.
@fromwilliams When exactly did she say muslims have to convert to christianity? Could you stop taking every opportunity to push your pathetic agenda? You're mercilessly insulting this person, and generally being an uncivillized fool, purely because she doesn't agree with you. You are the kind of person we are fighting against. Also, could you stop quote mining like a god damn child? Either leave the context in, or be quiet. Anyone can rip a quote out of context to make it support their opinion.
2. A visit to the American Enterprise Institute website, and reading the magazine of the Institute on the Internet, will quickly reveal an abundance of quotes hostile to Arabs and Islam. Example: "It is useless for the West to insist it is not at war with Islam. Islam itself is on trial here; it must now choose its path."
@fromwilliams LoL! You are so sad! You need to do better than copy and paste what somebody else (usislam.org) said about the American Enterprise Institute. By the way, in academic parlance, that's called plagiarism. Why don't you yourself go to the AEI website and actually read what they actually said and looked at the context in which they said it. I don't support the AEI but I don't support unsubstantiated demagoguery either. And you're not even good with the latter.
2. There is a powerful lobby that influences politicians,media,academia,opinion-makers,movie-makers,etc, & is interested in presenting Islam in the worst possible light. This lobby works secretively & has for years infiltrated Western culture & shaped its views.A distinction should always be made between the teachings of Islam & the actions of some of its ignorant and misguided followers. Nowhere does Islam enjoin the killing of innocent people, indiscriminate violence, terrorism or suicide bombing.
@fromwilliams If there's anyone who is making unsubstantiated and hysterical claims, it is you. There is nothing in this video that supports any of your assertions. Moreover, you've not provided a single example or evidence to buttress any of your hysterical and downright laughable claims. If anything, all you have done so far it to engage in childish name calling of Ayaan. Some of it laced with sexist language. I find it funny that you're criticizing her for doing what you're doing right now.
She is being funded by the American Enterprise Institute ( leading Iraq war pusher & neocons' rampage through the Middle East) an agendum to fuel the hatred against Islam in western countries. She has absolutely no interest in Muslim woman.
@fromwilliams First, when Ayaan was in the Netherlands, she helped many Somali Muslim women. Second, there's no evidence to suggest that the AEI is trying to fuel hatred against Muslims. They publish criticisms of Islam and Islamic practices but that's fair game. Just as it is fair to criticize other religions. It comes with living in a free society. Third, it's irrelevant if she is an AEI fellow. What's relevant are the things she says. You're still short on facts. You need to do better.
1. Dr Miriyam Aouragh Ph.D. ,Cultural Anthropologist,University of Amsterdam, Dutch Social Reform Committee, Rubicon Postdoctoral Fellow:
“She (Ayaan) has never fought for the oppressed. In fact, she’s done the opposite. She uses these problems as a cover to attack Islam. She insults me and she makes my life as a feminist ten times harder because she forces me to be associated with anti-Muslim attacks”
@fromwilliams Giving a quote is not the same as giving a fact. It's merely parroting what somebody else says. If anything, it may even suggest that you do not have a mind of your own. Where are the facts? Dates, incidents, and specific things that Ayaan actually said or did that supports the claims that you made. If you all you have are just claims or quotes by other people, then you have nothing. And that is it.

I agree with Nicholas Kristof (dual Pulitzer Prize winner) when he wrote, “Since (Ayaan) Hirsi Ali denounces Islam with a ferocity that I find strident, potentially feeding religious bigotry", "exemplifies precisely the kind of rhetoric that is overheated and overstated.”. Nicholas is correct about Ayaan's anti-Muslim rants.
FGM has nothing to do with religion, it is cultural. You cannot simply judge a religion based on the acts of what some Somalians do, who claim to do it in the name of Islam but are far from the essence of Islam. Pls study Islam before making judgments on it. Don't let evil people claiming to be Muslims define this religion for you.
As Dr. Stephen R. Covey said, "seek to understand before being understood."
Her books are popular with xenophobic people blaming Muslims for everything, as it fits in with their prejudices. She is a hack tool useful only to her neo-conservative employers in the United States. Her recent exhortations to Muslims to convert to Christianity make her sound more like Billy Graham. Hack tools such as Ayaan, "professional" former "alleged" ex-Muslims have long provided respectable cover for the bigotry and, more often, plain ignorance of mainstream western commentators on Islam.
“I FELT SICK…Hirsi Ali’s simultaneous condemnation of Islam and obvious admiration of Christianity was disturbing. As with any religion or ideology, it’s how it’s practised that impacts on people’s lives and on society. Vilifying an entire religion or people who follow that religion is not the way to create a harmonious society – as history as shown time and again. She has (perhaps unwittingly) become a fundamentalist herself.”
@fromwilliams I wonder if you would say the same thing if someone forced you to have part of your genitals mutilated. Whether or not her message is exploited is besides the point. She is justified to feel the way she does. Going by your logic, we should all stop learning science and go back to living in pure ignorance. After all, science has been used a "tool" by neo-conservatives to make war.
The practice of female circumcision dates to the time of the pharoahs in Egypt and practiced mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa. FGM is NOT Islamic.
Ayaan’s definition is so narrowly extremist, that she dumps forced marriage, honour killings (domestic violence), FGM, terrorism & other un-Islamic practices in the “Islam” category.
This woman cannot be trusted as she is a "professional" Islamophobic bigot that's on the PAYROLL and can't contain her hatred for all things Islamic.
@fromwilliams The point I am trying to make is not the practice of female circumcision per se but the brutality that was done to Ayaan in the name of religion. Whether or not these practices predated Islam is irrelevant. Many things predated Islam, including Arabic. Bottom line, her story checks out. She being a fellow at the Enterprise Institute is another issue. I'm just surprised by your lack of empathy since men don't face similar problems as women in many conservative Islamic countries.
FGM have nothing to do with religion, it is cultural. As Dr. Stephen R. Covey said, "seek to understand before being understood."
@fromwilliams Just to be clear, I wasn't criticizing the Islamic religion itself or FGM per se. What I'm criticizing is your lack of empathy towards people like Ayaan and what they had to go through. It doesn't matter if it was Islam or any other religion. Bottom line, the practices that she had to endure were barbaric. I wonder if you would react the same way if the tables were turned or if you had female friends or siblings that went through the same ordeal.
Ayaan is not condemned for speaking out against barbaric practices amongst immigrant communities – hell, even Nick Griffin can do that. She is condemned for being a liar,a fraud,a publicity seeker, someone who panders to the very worst anti-Muslim prejudices in Western societies, despite all her rhetoric, has actually done nothing to help women on the ground,in fact she has made things more difficult for womens rights activists in Muslim communities.
Ayaan preaches hateful, reactionary and an extremely popular view through a career based upon insipid, unreliable, hysterical and extremely profitable demonizing of a faith path that fits in nicely with the anti-Arab and muslim agenda of nations seeking to avoid their own critical self-analysis while unjustly and idiotically stereotyping and mass marketing muslims as to blame for all the ailments in the World.
FGM has nothing to do with religion, it is cultural. I have listened to this asshole Ayaan and she does not speak for anyone except for the neocons like bush and rush limbaugh and THE NEOCON NETWORK FOX. She stays on because she speaks for there anti Muslim views. She is a vile asshole.
@wonkothemagicelf Let's work for that day centuries hence when Ayaan Hirsi Ali's monument towers above the broken ruins of Mecca, and Voltaire's above the Vatican.
@FJYardley Our goal as Atheists and people who cherish freedom and humanity is to obliterate Allah's tyranny!! Daily scores of rationalists assume this burden on behalf of the human species and future, one stated by paraphrasing the inimitable words of Sir Winston Churchill: Every last trace of Muhammad's footsteps, every stain of his infected, corroding fingers will be sponged and purged and, if need be, blasted from the surface of the earth!!!
Ayaan is a whore and is the mistress of married man Mr Niall Ferguson. She has no moral compass and will bed anyone for some money. She works at the brothel called the American Enterprise Institute. If you go there ask for the pimp, his name is DICK Cheney. Just present your atheist discount card.
@FJYardley I don't know of the Greeks coming up with universities or doctorates, do you?
"The qu'rap was even complete until early 9th century." - What are you on about?
"What is islam anyway but a now wholly failed attempt to rewrite Judeo-Christianity by Arabs." The Quran is the light which converts thousands to believing in God - the fastest growing religion, that I'm sure you are aware of. "Truth has now arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is by its nature is bound to perish."
@FJYardley The fact that you can deduce someone is mad based on a comment or two speaks volumes about you and how you interpret whats around you; much like the readers of the Sun newspaper I think.
The West is not as politically stable as you may like to think. They only feed on the corrupt governments of the Middle East and their oil. For some 1500 years, the Muslims led innovation and science. E.g. did you know academic institutions were invented by the Muslims?!
I think, she is brilliant for thinking independently. Even if I'm not agree with her in everything, being born and raised in a Sunni Muslim family in Ethiopia, and then living in a Muslim country for two years. I have the same challenges with religion.
You will find my background and my concern of religion in my book which I'm trying to write.
@HirsiWatch33:50 - "Prophet, We have made lawful to you the wives to whom you have granted dowries and the slave girls whom God has given you as booty."
This verse clearly shows that Muslims believe that taking slaves in war was a God-given right. These slaves were considered 'booty' or the spoils of war. As the saying goes: to the victors go the spoils.
@HirsiWatch chauvinistic, vulgar, fascist, scum. Go back to whatever hole you crawled out of, your comments aren't welcome here. We will let you make them, (because we are better than you and believe in free speech) but we won't respond very nicely, or with much approval.
@fromwilliams but it takes 2 women to = 1 man in there court. and if i was at an execution for that im going to kill as many of them fuckers as i can, GO BLACKWATER
@fromwilliams In islam a woman's testimony is worth half of that of a man, and a muslim is by default seen as better than a non-muslim. Islam is anathema to equality. Stop peddling your lies.
The only verse in the entire Qur'an to equate the testimony of two women to that of one man is the so-called verse of debt (ayat al dayn 2:282). This is for matters relating to financial transactions.
One woman acts as a guarantor for the accuracy of the other's testimony.Being familiar with contracts is not something they do everyday in a Muslim society where mostly men work. This is limited to witnessing contracts and similar matters.
This Ali Putana just won't relent insulting Muslims, stereotyping them as retards and a threat. I understand Muslims getting very upset about illegal occupations, invasions, blockades where MILLIONS of their innocent people are slaughtered on a pack of lies, and then being blamed for it. In the end it is all politicized: she's being paid by AEI owned by the Neocon Zionist Fascists. She is nothing but a lying and despicable mouthpiece serving the political propaganda for these mass murderers
If she was raised under the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or the Holy Roman Catholic Church you wouldnt hear about her. She is a political prostitute that beds anyone that pays her to bash Islam.
She does not know what she is talking about, purposefully twisting facts, truths, half truths, emphasis and context. She is paid by the Neocon Zionist mass murderers. A proven liar, fraudster and conwoman, thats who she is. Illegally and unrightfully obtained the Dutch nationality. At the time when the Dutch Government exposed and sacked her, she should have been stripped of her passport and sent back to where she came from.
This Putana is not a peace loving person, she is a Trojan Horse. Anyone who investigated her background knows she is talking out of her big black ass. She is a self-confessed fraud, for which she got sacked. And now she is paid by the NeoCon Zionists to "excuse" their illegal occupations, invasions, blockades where MILLIONS of innocent people are slaughtered on a pack of lies. She sold out her brothers and sisters, her belief and conscience, and is a most despicable and treacherous bitch.
Last month she succeeded breaking up a nice British couple. Guy wants to marry her, leaving his wife and three kids behind for this bitch. Probably afraid that her Dutch passport will be invoked after her exposed deceipt during her status as a (fake) refugee, so now she may claim a British passport. Hey Hirsi, hope your father is proud of you.

Ayaan is nothing more than a propaganda tool for right wing extremists spreading hate and fear about Islam. Nothing peaceful or progressive here. She has done absolutely nothing for Somalian woman!
If you had to choose between death, forced marriage to a complete stranger and lying to authorities, which one would you pick?
She has been very open about the matter, and it was most understandable in her situation. She didn't lie to cover up her mistakes or anything, she lied in order to survive.
Islam does not advocate forced marriages nor lying to authorities and everyones situation is unique... However, to taint a religion, which is what this woman is doing, reduces my respect for her. If I didn't like a certain religion (or my parents religion), I will stay away from it, its simple. No doubt she has had poor cultural experiences, but to me, it seems she is doing whatever she can to gain popularity, fame and money. IMO, her acts don't really speak very highly for herself.
And Atheists admire people such as Ayaan because it fuels their anti-God propaganda war. As a trained Geneticist, I used to have a lot of respect for Richard, (the Blind Watchmaker and Selfish Gene were personal favouites) but I feel he is doing down the dumps by bringing politics involved in his pro-Atheist rallies. He should stick to Darwinian intellectualism.
Forced marriage has been rampant in Islam ever since Prophet Muhammad married a six-year-old. Ayaan used to be a fundamentalist Muslim as a teenager and has presumably read the Quran from cover to cover. She probably knows much better than we do what Islam advocates, and having read her autobiography, I think she has a very good reason to oppose the entire religion.
Ayaan is a handful of apostates in a population of 1.3 - 1.7 billion Muslim people. Statistically, it's inevitable that some will chose to attack the religion. It seems now that Atheists are also following a political agenda to bring people away from God by interviewing such people. There were no "forced marriage" by the Prophet Muhammad. The apparent 'followers' obviously don't speak for Islam.
Look it up in the hadith: Volume 5, Book 58, Number 234 and Sahih Muslim chapter 10, for instance.
In case you don't know, the hadiths are Islamic holy text with canonical status alongside the Quran. Those who organize forced marriages within Islam have full support of the holy texts.
We Atheists are indeed following a political agenda: the complete destruction of the Cult of Allah and the preservation of humanity. The cult of Allah enslaves and brutalizes a sixth of the planet, and preaches Jihad, a doctrine of war and extermination that poses a moral threat to human survival in the nuclear age. For humanity to survive and fulfill its glorious potential among the stars, ISLAM MUST BE DESTROYED!
Jihad is a recipe for human extinction in a age bristling with thousands of thermonuclear weapons, and in the rapidly looming era of even more virulent and readily available weapons of mega-death. Were Islam to triumph through this unthinkable calamity, the result would be a far greater tragedy: humanity enslaved to ogre Allah, and freedom of inquiry and conscience extinguished for all time. In a post-nuclear holocaust era of Islam triumphant, the thoughtful living would indeed envy the dead.
Jihad, my friend, means "struggle." From inner struggles of fighting personal weaknesses to the everyday struggle in living an earning, lookingater the elderly etc etc. It has nothing to do with nuclear weapons, that was introduced by the West. Hiroshima and Nagasaki was not done by any form of Muslims. I'm in complete favour for the complete abandonment of WMD by EVERY country. To say one country can have these weapons and another can't it utter hypocrasy.
Damascus steel was invented by pagans, yet used by Muslims to subjugate and slaughter from Andalusia to Indonesia. So too with firearms, bombs and airplanes more recently. The principle mandate of Islam, to prosecute the "Struggle" to "enable" humanity to "submit" until the whole Earth is Allah's, insures that nuclear weapons will ultimately to be enlisted in Muslim violence. Atheists and others who prize freedom, reason and humanity are obligated to prevent this horror BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Steel wasn't used just by the Muslims! Muslims have every right to protect themselves, just like anyone else. When it comes to bombs and airplanes, I think you are confused with the true religion and and a few psychopaths out there. "The whole Earth is Allahs."Muslim feel the whole world is Allah's anyway, whether someone wishes to recognise or not is up to each individual.I can understand why so many are insecure about Islam when it is growing so fast but don't worry, most Muslims are peaceful!
Muslims made such "impressive" use of Damascus Steel during their Jihads that the alloy's white Pearlite bands became known as "Muhammad's Ladder",i.e. the path to the Hereafter for Islam's victims. Although the ignorant theology of Islam discourages the inquiry necessary for technological advance, the doctrine of Jihad encourages Muslims to appropriate weaponry invented by "Infidels". NEVER must the day dawn when a rabid Mullah brandishes a Koran in one hand, and a nuke in the other.
As you yourself said,Jihad means "struggle", and has two forms, the Outer Jihad to force humanity to bow before Allah, and the Inner Jihad of discipline and faith. The Inner Jihad serves to further the outer Jihad by crushing personal doubt and reason, and instilling the distorted vision and mission of Muhammad in the psyche. Inner Jihad thus serves as a mental boot-camp for producing Muslim propagandists, terrorists and warriors bent on enslaving all humanity to Muhammad's monstrous god.
No, jihad, by its very nature does not force anyone to do anything. There is no outer or inner jihad. By Gods own will, in time, people come to the realisation of who we are, and our purpose on this planet. Most people have a tendency towards God or a form of god, even though they might not have a religion that they follow. That is the inner self admitting to a Creator. If jihad "forced", it would, by its very definition, cease to be a "struggle". i.e. you cannot compel someone into a religion.
Jihad is jihad, by body soul and mind! The struggle comes from trying to educate, understand and assimilate into everyday life. Muslims are encouraged to enquire and learn about themselves and others. It is through understanding others that we are better able to understand ourselves. I don't know where your latter sentance might come from though other than maybe a deep insecurity in oneself?
Just ask yourself this: what has Ayaan gained from becoming rich and famous? Her popularity has come at a very expensive cost, and if she didn't believe in what she was doing, I doubt she would carry on. Ever since she got involved in politics, she's been a constant target of death threats. When Theo Van Gogh was murdered, there was a five-page death threat stuck with a knife to his chest, addressed to Ayaan. Even today she has to travel with armed guard and keep her whereabouts hidden.
She could have stayed in politics, but she obviously wasn't happy to be a back bencher there. She wished to stir hatred in the community, and now this is firing back. The more armed guards she has, the more her cause and popularity rises. Who are these people who rise her to such levels? Atheists, and anti-Islamists. It only increases the tensions in the society where Muslims and non-Muslims have to live.I condemn all forms of violence on people, but I also understand not all people are like me.
And do you not think Muslims themselves deserve any criticism for "increasing the tension"? Last time I checked, Ayaan Hirsi Ali has never advocated the beheading of anyone, except maybe when she was a Muslim herself.
Since she abandoned Islam, she has become a more tolerant and peaceful person. When she was young, she still thought that Salman Rushdie deserved the fatwa that was issued on him. Nowadays, she would never justify violence, except in self defense.
Yes, Muslims are much to blame for the increasing tension as well. Most react spontaneously, without consideration of the consequences of their actions. A fifth of the worlds population are Muslim so inevitably, there will be some who are intolerant. However, most are peaceful, do not justify any form of violence whatsoever and get on with their everyday life. All Ayaan does is bring hatred in the community. Throwing darts at people is one thing but to do it and smile is evil.
They don't react "spontaneously", they react based on the beliefs and values they've been brought up with.
If most of the Muslims are moderate and peaceful, then one would expect that they won't react strongly to criticism or satire of Islam. If this is true, then it's only the extremists who draw hatred from Ayaan and other critics of Islam.
And what exactly is the problem with enraging the extremists, people who actively look for things to be enraged at? How exactly is it Ayaan's fault if people devoted to hatred express hatred? Since when did we allow extremists dictate the limits of our freedom of speech?
Definitions of extremism and moderate Muslims, by their very nature, are subjective. That is maybe where the problem lies. Nobody who follows a religion puts themself in such a category. Thus your argument of enraging others is weak. Most people want to get on with life and their neighbours and as such have common needs, one of them is not being insulted. Likewise, most people are not hateful by nature. It's only when freedom of speech is abused that it becomes a problem.

It has nothing to do with rape, stealing or killing, those are crimes.
sogghartha 1 year ago
@sogghartha Human judgement is deformed by knowledge, perception and motivational biases, what is moral to you might be immoral even to the closest person to you. freedom in islam is based on commitment and responsibility, freedom without restraints will lead to nihilism, resulting breakdown of moral and social order. I hope this opens your mind to what freedom is.

They’re not interested in peace".
fromwilliams 1 year ago
@fromwilliams I said her comments were not well articulated. You have to read between the lines. English is not her native language. Look at the 3rd statement in that quote, "Once defeated, it can mutate into something peaceful." Clearly, she was referring to defeating political Islam, radical or not. Look at the period when she gave that interview. It was done after the murder of a Dutch artist and violent protests against the Muhammad cartoon. Muslims who advocated peace weren't visible.
danielkueh 1 year ago
@fromwilliams I suggest you listen to the radio interview that Aayan did with Margaret Throsby. It's clear and lucid. It's much more accurate and consistent with what she has been saying. After all, didn't you quote someone about "seeking to understand before being understood?"

Make no mistake, Ayaan wants Muslims to give up their religion. The only path to giving up their religion that this atheist woman has offered Muslims is to first convert them to Christianity.

If you all you have are just claims or quotes by other people, then you have nothing. And that is it.

FGM has nothing to do with religion, it is cultural. You cannot simply judge a religion based on the acts of what some Somalians do, who claim to do it in the name of Islam but are far from the essence of Islam.
This woman cannot be trusted as she is a "professional" Islamophobic bigot that's on the PAYROLL and can't contain her hatred for all things Islamic.
fromwilliams 1 year ago
@fromwilliams The point I am trying to make is not the practice of female circumcision per se but the brutality that was done to Ayaan in the name of religion. Whether or not these practices predated Islam is irrelevant. Many things predated Islam, including Arabic. Bottom line, her story checks out. She being a fellow at the Enterprise Institute is another issue. I'm just surprised by your lack of empathy since men don't face similar problems as women in many conservative Islamic countries.

@fromwilliams but it takes 2 women to = 1 man in there court. and if i was at an execution for that im going to kill as many of them fuckers as i can, GO BLACKWATER
deadmen117 1 year ago
@fromwilliams In islam a woman's testimony is worth half of that of a man, and a muslim is by default seen as better than a non-muslim. Islam is anathema to equality. Stop peddling your lies.
sogghartha 1 year ago
@sogghartha

I find it hard to take someone who lied about her name and age to Dutch authorities for asylum purposes. Here she is, a heroine amongst Atheists!
Britishfever456 3 years ago
If you had to choose between death, forced marriage to a complete stranger and lying to authorities, which one would you pick?
She has been very open about the matter, and it was most understandable in her situation. She didn't lie to cover up her mistakes or anything, she lied in order to survive.
AapoJoki 3 years ago
Islam does not advocate forced marriages nor lying to authorities and everyones situation is unique... However, to taint a religion, which is what this woman is doing, reduces my respect for her. If I didn't like a certain religion (or my parents religion), I will stay away from it, its simple. No doubt she has had poor cultural experiences, but to me, it seems she is doing whatever she can to gain popularity, fame and money. IMO, her acts don't really speak very highly for herself.
Britishfever456 3 years ago 2

AapoJoki 3 years ago
Ayaan is a handful of apostates in a population of 1.3 - 1.7 billion Muslim people. Statistically, it's inevitable that some will chose to attack the religion. It seems now that Atheists are also following a political agenda to bring people away from God by interviewing such people. There were no "forced marriage" by the Prophet Muhammad. The apparent 'followers' obviously don't speak for Islam.
Britishfever456 3 years ago
Look it up in the hadith: Volume 5, Book 58, Number 234 and Sahih Muslim chapter 10, for instance.
In case you don't know, the hadiths are Islamic holy text with canonical status alongside the Quran. Those who organize forced marriages within Islam have full support of the holy texts.
AapoJoki 3 years ago
We Atheists are indeed following a political agenda: the complete destruction of the Cult of Allah and the preservation of humanity. The cult of Allah enslaves and brutalizes a sixth of the planet, and preaches Jihad, a doctrine of war and extermination that poses a moral threat to human survival in the nuclear age. For humanity to survive and fulfill its glorious potential among the stars, ISLAM MUST BE DESTROYED!
Hottides 3 years ago
If there is one thing that will preserve humanity, it will be Islam.
Britishfever456 3 years ago
Jihad is a recipe for human extinction in a age bristling with thousands of thermonuclear weapons, and in the rapidly looming era of even more virulent and readily available weapons of mega-death. Were Islam to triumph through this unthinkable calamity, the result would be a far greater tragedy: humanity enslaved to ogre Allah, and freedom of inquiry and conscience extinguished for all time. In a post-nuclear holocaust era of Islam triumphant, the thoughtful living would indeed envy the dead.
Hottides 3 years ago
Jihad, my friend, means "struggle." From inner struggles of fighting personal weaknesses to the everyday struggle in living an earning, lookingater the elderly etc etc. It has nothing to do with nuclear weapons, that was introduced by the West. Hiroshima and Nagasaki was not done by any form of Muslims. I'm in complete favour for the complete abandonment of WMD by EVERY country. To say one country can have these weapons and another can't it utter hypocrasy.
Britishfever456 3 years ago
Damascus steel was invented by pagans, yet used by Muslims to subjugate and slaughter from Andalusia to Indonesia. So too with firearms, bombs and airplanes more recently. The principle mandate of Islam, to prosecute the "Struggle" to "enable" humanity to "submit" until the whole Earth is Allah's, insures that nuclear weapons will ultimately to be enlisted in Muslim violence. Atheists and others who prize freedom, reason and humanity are obligated to prevent this horror BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!
Hottides 3 years ago

Steel wasn't used just by the Muslims! Muslims have every right to protect themselves, just like anyone else. When it comes to bombs and airplanes, I think you are confused with the true religion and and a few psychopaths out there. "The whole Earth is Allahs."Muslim feel the whole world is Allah's anyway, whether someone wishes to recognise or not is up to each individual.I can understand why so many are insecure about Islam when it is growing so fast but don't worry, most Muslims are peaceful!
Britishfever456 3 years ago
Muslims made such "impressive" use of Damascus Steel during their Jihads that the alloy's white Pearlite bands became known as "Muhammad's Ladder",i.e. the path to the Hereafter for Islam's victims. Although the ignorant theology of Islam discourages the inquiry necessary for technological advance, the doctrine of Jihad encourages Muslims to appropriate weaponry invented by "Infidels". NEVER must the day dawn when a rabid Mullah brandishes a Koran in one hand, and a nuke in the other.
Hottides 3 years ago
>Although the ignorant theology of Islam discourages the inquiry necessary for technological advance "O my Lord, increase me in knowledge"
Quran, 20:114.
>The doctrine of Jihad.
And what may that be? LOL
Britishfever456 3 years ago
As you yourself said,Jihad means "struggle", and has two forms, the Outer Jihad to force humanity to bow before Allah, and the Inner Jihad of discipline and faith. The Inner Jihad serves to further the outer Jihad by crushing personal doubt and reason, and instilling the distorted vision and mission of Muhammad in the psyche. Inner Jihad thus serves as a mental boot-camp for producing Muslim propagandists, terrorists and warriors bent on enslaving all humanity to Muhammad's monstrous god.
Hottides 3 years ago
No, jihad, by its very nature does not force anyone to do anything. There is no outer or inner jihad. By Gods own will, in time, people come to the realisation of who we are, and our purpose on this planet. Most people have a tendency towards God or a form of god, even though they might not have a religion that they follow. That is the inner self admitting to a Creator. If jihad "forced", it would, by its very definition, cease to be a "struggle". i.e. you cannot compel someone into a religion.
Britishfever456 3 years ago

AapoJoki 3 years ago
She could have stayed in politics, but she obviously wasn't happy to be a back bencher there. She wished to stir hatred in the community, and now this is firing back. The more armed guards she has, the more her cause and popularity rises. Who are these people who rise her to such levels? Atheists, and anti-Islamists. It only increases the tensions in the society where Muslims and non-Muslims have to live.I condemn all forms of violence on people, but I also understand not all people are like me.
Britishfever456 3 years ago
And do you not think Muslims themselves deserve any criticism for "increasing the tension"? Last time I checked, Ayaan Hirsi Ali has never advocated the beheading of anyone, except maybe when she was a Muslim herself.
Since she abandoned Islam, she has become a more tolerant and peaceful person. When she was young, she still thought that Salman Rushdie deserved the fatwa that was issued on him. Nowadays, she would never justify violence, except in self defense.
AapoJoki 3 years ago
Yes, Muslims are much to blame for the increasing tension as well. Most react spontaneously, without consideration of the consequences of their actions. A fifth of the worlds population are Muslim so inevitably, there will be some who are intolerant. However, most are peaceful, do not justify any form of violence whatsoever and get on with their everyday life. All Ayaan does is bring hatred in the community. Throwing darts at people is one thing but to do it and smile is evil.
Britishfever456 3 years ago
They don't react "spontaneously", they react based on the beliefs and values they've been brought up with.
If most of the Muslims are moderate and peaceful, then one would expect that they won't react strongly to criticism or satire of Islam. If this is true, then it's only the extremists who draw hatred from Ayaan and other critics of Islam.
AapoJoki 3 years ago
And what exactly is the problem with enraging the extremists, people who actively look for things to be enraged at? How exactly is it Ayaan's fault if people devoted to hatred express hatred? Since when did we allow extremists dictate the limits of our freedom of speech?
AapoJoki 3 years ago
Definitions of extremism and moderate Muslims, by their very nature, are subjective. That is maybe where the problem lies. Nobody who follows a religion puts themself in such a category. Thus your argument of enraging others is weak. Most people want to get on with life and their neighbours and as such have common needs, one of them is not being insulted. Likewise, most people are not hateful by nature. It's only when freedom of speech is abused that it becomes a problem.
