I find it quite funny people here fail to acknowledge that they are Chinese when their ancestors clearly came from the mainland. Yes, I'm from Taiwan and I do consider myself a Taiwanese Chinese. I can attest to the fact no nonprofit organizations ventured into the mountains during the 5 days of heavy rainfall because they were warned not to. Considering the unstable terrain, mudslides and what not, going into there to save others would mean sacrificing your lives. I live in Tainan, and I saw firsthand how heavy the rain was. All I can say is that I have no respect for people who are all talk when they themselves have done nothing.
