Cast Aluminum must have the necessary silicon content to pour well and still be strong. This does not translate into being a very good alloy, it is a compromise. That's what machining a homogeneous chunk of good Aluminum is for, so a piston won't melt under high forced induction conditions."That's some good Aluminum". You guys are hilarious and scary! The Ferrari factory conglomerates the dross and removes Hydrogen from Aluminum like everybody else.......with a little Sodium Chloride and Sodium Carbonate. But I could see the thrill in swinging a heavy apparatus by means of a jerky hoist over liquid death, while wearing Levi's and and some ducky shoes. : )
