  • is it possible to get the taye gokit with the rack system and the transport bags?

  • i hate the way that he changed the groove...i agree with AkiThePirate though: throw a stick at him!

  • I've always wondered, on the small kit, what's the other cymbal called, it sound like a shaker, but it's the two cymbals stacked together...can someone please tell me the name of that cymbal is, like what is it called? and also, does anyone know if the kick pedals that come stock with Taye kits are any good?

  • @ewokbreeder it looks to me like it is one of sabian's mike portnoy signature max stax cymbals. it sounds so nice though

  • I have the kit on the left, the green one. I had never heard of taye until my school had given the set to me.... its missing the second floor tom, are they really good?

  • que aburrido

  • As a session/touring drummer in Nashville, I can tell you that Taye are some of the best sounding drums in all the industry. I've recorded and played more brands than u can imagine and 9 times out of 10, the producers will end up asking me to track the Studio Maples cause they track so beautifully. I have access to pretty much any drum I could ever ask for, and I always end up choosing Taye.

  • Taye drums are amazing! I had a Pearl Export kit then switched to Taye and I couldn't be happier. All my friends are jealous of the way my kit sounds. Keep up the good work.

  • it's awesome how even richard hammond could dwarf a taye kit. epic.

  • you guys suck at playing drums!! Stick to just building them!

  • @billclarkesales Post a video have as good as their playing before you comment like a fool!

  • The drums are great. I've been using them on the road for about 6years now. And Taye was kind enough 2 custom make me the go-rack toms in a natural finish to go with my studio maple natural finish kit. Forget all those other companies that EVERYBODY AND THEIR FRIENDS HAVE, it's 2010, play some real drums! Taye Drums!!!

P.s. Ok now where's my money hahahahaha kiddin'. West you sound good brotha.

  • Brand loyalty brings out the beast in some but it all comes down to build quality and sound, and my money is on Taye Studio Maples, having played them for over 4 years now. I amost made the mistake of buying a DW Collectors and an Ayotte, but honestly, they dont sound any better. I was teased by posers a couple of times until they heard my little bebop Tayes, now they want one! Everyone is impressed with the sound out of that 18 and the toms and snare. Kudos to Taye, hang in there....

  • Thanks so much for the good words. We're trying to spread the good words about Taye Drums! We believe in making great product for not as much money as the bigs. Every company has their nay sayers, but we hope to win the world over, one drummer at a time. (A massive exodus to Taye would be a great thing, too....hahahaha!)

  • Taye = cheap Taiwan junk.

  • @TheWhiteydog what makes you think that, whitey? do tell. experiences please. I'd love to see what you have to say about it...we're not scared and don't need to go get a dog. (ha!) I'm sure the boss would rather me pull this comment down, but I'm ready to put our gear up against anything you have.

  • taye it's american dude!!! omg

  • its canadian.

  • OK...so it's not canadian and it's not completely american. it's North American Sugar Maple made in Taiwan.....our North American Sales/Distribution Office is in Chino, California.

  • Sorry, I just watched again and would have had to definately yell at dude playing the GO KIT.. THought the whole idea was to "trade" licks...

  • i like how the black drum size is

  • Love the Go Kit!!! The playing is a double Mess !!!!!

Play the Go kit !!!!! Only Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee

  • those sound sweeeeeeeet...

  • Did "austin" ever watch this vid, every time he does a fill, the other guy stops and sometimes makes faces...LOL...FILL BLOCKED...

  • I'd definitely have thrown a stick at him.

  • we can't throw sticks at Austin...he's a good kid...just had a case of the "noodles" that day.

  • who is this? hahahahaha!

  • Just a guy who noticed how in the pocket you are in this vid, how awesome your snare sounds and how much you were blocked trying to "trade" licks...

  • What kind of cymbals are on the go- kit? I love the go- kits! i think they are the prettiest things on the earth ( Besides Maria Sharapova). I'm gonna get one, have tons of cymbals and latin percusssion too. But i totally despise the go- kits with the racks.

  • they sound dang good....we were in a warehouse when it we recorded that

  • I'm surprised at the bass, it sounds pretty good for being so thin. My bass is an 18x18 Gretsch and sounds great, but I prefer a more vintage sound. The snare on that thing has pretty normal dimensions, but it's too cranked for my tastes.

Anyway, I'm thinking about a go-kit in the future as a piece is only about 23 inches stacked. I'm wary though, my teacher had a second hand Rhythm Traveler and the bass and toms were atrocious. I'm willing to bet the double headed toms are better on this.

  • Hey JazzDance!

These sound way better than the rhythm traveler. I was playing on the studiomaple kit, but that GoKit is my GoTo kit when i get a chance to play.

  • Cool. I know it's going to be a little lacking compared to a more traditional kit, but this definitely has a much fuller sound than the Pearl.

  • Damn, where are they? It sounds like they're playing in a cave.

I wonder how that GoKit sounds in a smaller room.

  • I have a studio maple. It totally rocks

  • ya i have one of those GOkits...they're pretty good.

  • Yeah!!!!

  • Those kit's sound great!

  • nice job, dad :)
