hi i am really newbies yday i seen jupiter with my mead lx90 10inch telescope all i can see is white ball and little two of his moon i want to know how can i see more in details and do i need to change my eyepiece i only have eyepiece supplied with telescope
Of course it's Fake. You can't see a planet turn. If it was like that, and you was closer it would be turning way faster, and about every second would make a day. About a hour would make a year. So of course it's Fake. Every two-hundred Earth years make a year on Jupiter.
Jupiter's rotation period is 9 hours and 56 minutes. You can see it rotate by just watching for an hour or so. Apparently you have never looked at any of the planets through a telescope for more than a second or two if at all.

Yes, absolutely! Get some decent eyepieces and get a 2 x and a 3 x barlow....
You'll see Jupiter and most of its moons. The moon is fantastic. You will also see clearly the Orion Nebula, The Dumbbell neb, globular clusters in Hercules..
I have over 15 years and a 10 and 12 inch newt now days but just bought my kid a 4.5 inch Celestron.. its wonderful. Have fun, its a great first scope if you one! Look at a brand name if you can afford it.
The effectiveness of a telescope also depends on where you live and if you are capable of getting to a sweet observing point with low light pollution.
One of the biggest challenges to start with was learning how to find everything in the sky. Once you have that you are going to have a ton of fun with that scope.
I took my DOB apart and now have the tube on top of an EQ motorized mount...
Its an upgrade that you can do later as well if you choose to expand.
Now its astrophotography instead of just looking:-) That Orion has some great optics, enjoy!
I got mine a couple of month's ago already. It's computerized but I have yet to set the computer up. Myself, I have been able to find and see Mercury, Venus, and Saturn. Nebula wise, I've seen the orion nebula and another constellation I can't remember the name of. I pretty much know where everything is in the sky, as I use Stellarium to locate objects before going outside.
I can't use it much now, I have a raccoon problem at my house and I have to eliminate them before taking my telescope out!
LOL:-p Darn Raccoons are destructive little suckers. We have them locally as well and they tear up a lot. Thing is, where there are Raccoons there is usually darker skies, presuming that you are out in the country somewhere.
Hoping to put my equipment on a permanent mount sometime soon. If I do that I'll do a roll away roof on a shed or something.. Till then I'm stuck like you, setting up and tearing down all the time..
wow..i have a 14 inch dob,and jupiter looks nothing like that.i know you said in a previous comment that the pictures were stacked, and i understand that, but its big, bigger then what i have achieved with my scope, although i was only using 150 magnification.i think i have to increase the magnification.were you using a barlow?what magnification were you at?
Yes, you will have to increase the magnification. Your scope could easily handle 500x, but you are going to need pristine seeing conditions obviously. You shouldn't have to go that high though, try a 2x barlow on your 150x eyepiece for 300x.
my jupiter doesent look as good through my 12 inch, it just looks like a white dot with brown lines on it, and really faint, can someone tell me how to get it so good?
Thats because you eyes cannot provide an "instant" perfect image. These were pictures that were stacked, when you do this it produces a picture way better that your eyes could ever provide. You should buy a CCD camera with an autoguider or you could buy an inexpensive adapter so you could just use a digital camera you already have.
hoochis, go to a good telescope dealer. Meade website should have list of authorized dealers. When you make your purchase, they can give a basic tutorial that will get you started. I have a Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain, 8" and I got it from Highpoint Scientific in New Jersey. They told me everything I needed to know and spent an hour talking with me AFTER I purchased the scope. Good luck and have fun!
i am going to get a meade cassegrain telescope but i dont know ne thing about wut camera do get for it and i dont know how to hook it up when i get 1. so can someone tell me what camera to get and how to hook up a digital and video camera to a telescope?
No eyepiece. Just a Philips ToUcam Pro webcam in place of the eyepiece. The webcam lens was removed and a 1.25 inch eyepiece adaptor was screwed in place of the lens.
Realmente impressionante essa imagem!!!

Very nice. I know the amount of work behind such a video. Recenly I made one, including Ganimede transit.
Also with an 8 inch Newtonian and the Phillips SPC900.
Congrats!

wow jupiter rotates very longer ull turn 1 when u die! lol cool pic tho
TheTaylenaLover 1 year ago
@TheTaylenaLover Not really ........... Jupiter takes 10hrs to rotate once where as our Earth takes 24hrs.
But Jupiter takes around 12 years to orbit the Sun where the Earth takes just 365 days.

@appledelicious123 which makes the gravity entirely rediculous lol
in parts there is probably gas packed so tight that it is as hard as a solid

Nice video of Jupiter, that must have taken some sitting around to get multiple captures like that!
