Guys, everybody wins here.. US or India.. This is an exercise for chosen pilots to survive 10 planned / mock missions, to increase their survival rate in the battlefield. Even new US pilots can outdo veteran pilots, its part of the training, they train them to bring out the best in them. At the end of the day, this isnt about who has the most kills, but its all about getting their missions done. INDIA and USA are not enemies, the news program, shouldn't have presented it that way.
I'm Indian, but let me say one thing, you can have the best technology, the best maneuvers, but sometimes and most of the time, it comes down to shear experience...which India doesn't have in a war-time environment...
the indians were crushed in exercises with the USAF, the only times they won were when they were in india and the USAF did not use AWACS and did not use the AIM-120.
@wiganerrmc when the USAF went to india and was not allowed to use AWACS or the AIM-120C the indians won over 60% of battles, but that is to be expected, the Su-27 was built from the ground up for WVR combat, and the Su-30MKI is an upgraded version of that plane. but when the IAF came to the US the USAF won over 90% of battles, and in operation RED FLAG the indians were responsible for more friendly fire incidents than any other single country.

Guys, everybody wins here.. US or India.. This is an exercise for chosen pilots to survive 10 planned / mock missions, to increase their survival rate in the battlefield. Even new US pilots can outdo veteran pilots, its part of the training, they train them to bring out the best in them. At the end of the day, this isnt about who has the most kills, but its all about getting their missions done. INDIA and USA are not enemies, the news program, shouldn't have presented it that way.

@wiganerrmc when the USAF went to india and was not allowed to use AWACS or the AIM-120C the indians won over 60% of battles, but that is to be expected, the Su-27 was built from the ground up for WVR combat, and the Su-30MKI is an upgraded version of that plane. but when the IAF came to the US the USAF won over 90% of battles, and in operation RED FLAG the indians were responsible for more friendly fire incidents than any other single country.

Unlike the USA, where joining the military is voluntary and they get what they can, in India becoming a pilot is seen as an honor.

USA, UK, and German pilots clock in the most training hours which would make them the best. Although Israel's training is equivalent to USA and UK's, but there air force is much smaller.

The USA was forced into two world wars against its will and was the "arsenal of democracy" in WWII. Without the USA, the evil dictators of the Axis would have caused much greater loss of life and could have occupied the European Allies, at least temporarily. The USA loaned enormous amounts of money, resources and equipment to the Allies, much of which was never repaid.
