  • 1:27 onward is my favorite part

  • KNXWLEDGE IS UNFUCKWITABLE!!!!

  • her and Jean Grae need to do an entire mixtape together. I swear on everything, I will buy it if they can make it happen.

  • If they can show females poppin their asses all over the place, WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS VIDEO?!

  • Wtf they didnt let this video on but they let yonkers? Wtf

  • It´s funny that one of the most masculine and sexy rappers happends to be a woman! She´s so hot and one of the best mc:s ever.

  • Great stuff invincible, much respect for what you're doing. Forget mtv all they play is commercial rubbish, if they rejected your stuff you know you're onto something good :)

  • I can't see, is this a woman or a brother? Also, he/she tries to hard to be black.

  • @brameekhout You are a sad human being.

  • @brameekhout She's from Detroit smart one... just like Eminem

  • @MoodMuzikFilez What do you mean with ''just like Eminem''? Am I supposed to give her respect for coming from the same city as that horrible, commercialized, unoriginal rapper?

  • @brameekhout NO. im just saying its where they are both from... they dont try to be Black... its how they grew up... and Eminem is very talented for a mainstream artist... his rhymes are just as ill as they were underground... only difference is that he matured and he's rhyming over stupid pop beats...he still puts out hard shit every now and then.. and how is he unoriginal? there's no rapper like him... last i checked he rhymes with Slaughterhouse who r one of raps best right now

  • @MoodMuzikFilez In his early days Eminem was a HUGE wigger. Not so much anymore now, but back in 1999/2000 up until about 2008/2009 he was a huge wigger. And yes, he is incredibly unoriginal. First he stole AZ's style on Infinite. Then got famous by stealing Cage's style, and now he's famous from copying artists like Lil Wayne and other pop artists making alot of money now.

  • @brameekhout if he such a wigger... how come most of the respect he gets is from black people...especially from rappers who r mostly black... especially the ones ur talking about... yeah Em's style in infinite is influenced by Az and Nas but at the time he was tryin to discover his own style he even says that... many artists have done that.. before Alchemist discovered his style he was immitating Dj preimer... and they r bothr concidered legends... and who the fuck would want to bite lil wayne

  • @MoodMuzikFilez Just cause he gets respect from black people doesn't mean he isn't a wigger. Alot of black rappers out there won't speak bad about Eminem, because it would be bad for their careers commercially.

  • @brameekhout okay ur right... but regardless. Eminem is himself... Invincible is herself... what u expect that they grew up around white people... how's he gonna act white when the ppl who gave him respect in the first place were mostly black? and the reason why black people like Eminem so much is cause he's himself and keeps it real... thats why when you see him he's surrounded by them.. like that even matters tho

  • let this be seen! let this be heard! the only thing problematic is the fact that people are sheltering an issue that needs to be resolved. the reason people commit suicide is because they feel alone. hiding the issue doesnt help. fuck mtv lets get this issue realized!

  • ive had situations like this myself about being suicidal and times are hard

i love this song and video

and no this vid is not problematic

    i hate MTV

  • Respect to Invincible, fuck MTV.

  • It's increasingly hard to find artists these days that are not just original but truly inspiring, this tune is incredible and the video is incredible. I'd never heard of Invincible before this morning but she now has one more fan. Typically MTV wanting to stop music by an underground artisit that has some real meaning, if this was the latest Eminem video then there would be a "Ropes" Happy Meal by now but because it's an up and coming artist they don't want to know. This is all round amazing.

  • Naww, It Ain't Problematic! They Just Scared Because It's The Truth

But they Support Marijuana And Sex? Lmfao

    FUCK MTV!

  • I think that people who have struggled with suicidal ideation/activity (such as myself and more than a few of my friends), as well as the recognized authorities on the study of suicide such as Kay Redfield Jamieson will probably all agree that while there is always the risk of copycat suicide by speaking of it, the greater risk lies in how a person who is suicidal generally feels that they can't speak to anyone about it. Songs such as this make us all feel less alone, even if we're not talking.

  • Fuck Mtv.... :)

  • looks like justin bieber, raps like eminem, this kid is a beast

  • her lyrics/flow are cool. sounds a little like jean grae.

if i was in a battle with her i'd call her brandon teena though.

  • First off the video and message is real. Secondly if they are gonna let your song be heard they should let the video be seen. Otherwise why allow either? Invincilbe keep makin' that music for grown folks. Peace!

  • a real issue we should be discussing! Thank you for making this song!

  • I don't agree with MTV's view, BUT....... it is their network, so it makes sense that they can choose what to play on their own station. It's not really unfair of them if you think about it. Pretty cool track though, I like it.

  • this pretty much blows

  • Comment removed

  • @nickdesuza Fuck you, mate! You gonna suck dick till you cannot handle it!

  • Fuck MTV. They're the epitome of shit programming like that new show "Skins". Two-faced lying S.O.B.'s just gave her a standard politically-correct template email reply for whatever bogus, monetary-related reasons they REALLY have underlying the issue.

  • @powderdd about a month ago and iam not sure why but they went into who invincible is and what she has been through to get mtv to play her video on their university channel

  • i think you brought out a great point in this song and you should release it out to the world so we all can see it and i have had friends that have done it people need to know about this.(:

oh btw your super cute and yess i am a girl lol

  • MTV(money.t.v) DON'T HATE YOU FUCKING PANSIES!!!! HOW MANY FUCKING FEMALES DO YOU KNOW SPIT REAL SHIT!!!! THE LAST I CHECKED LAURYN HILL WAS KILLING...BUT SHES MIA..you would rather play some stupid shit that shares no relations to real issues..ALL ABOUT MONEY

  • @1yogaflame I get many comparisons to Lauryn and Pac for the music I do and I am very proud of that because I am a sister with a positive message and a cold flow to go with it. Check out Ms LOLO when you get a chance. thanks

  • I Love This <3

  • Nice ass song

  • This chick is so nice wit it, madd flow!!

  • NPR!!! YES!!!

  • i heard about this on NPR also. Amazing story.

  • thumbs up if you heard this on NPR

  • @arabat000 Thats wuz up!

  • @arabat000 This was on NPR???? When and why?

  • post in hd please? good song very subtle lyrically and politically. Keep it up please :)

  • It's about damn time that a song like this got out. Where was it for the thousands of young people who needed it a year ago....

  • Did not know of this SUPER MC till today, found her on NPR on an interview with this song playing..Im pucking speechless..this MC is over cold..Im a big fan now and must have everything she makes!! Its been a long time since someone spit like this.

  • @whenicomeup exactly how i found her!

  • Shine a light on it Invincible. MTV should be ashamed that they'll poison the youth of America by glorifying ignorance, sex and alcohol abuse (have you seen the Jersey Shore???), but won't take a chance to offend people by talking about a sensitive subject like this. MTV regularly shows videos which have "undertones" of misogyny and glorification of drugs and drug dealing.... they need to get off their soapbox, about this video. WE WANNA SEE MORE INVICIBLE - no more censorship!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2bad she isn't a guy

  • nope

  • As a human being, I salute Invincible. Her album is incredible! Buy it! Don't download it! Like she said, "You want good music? You gotta support it."

  • As a human being, I applaud Invincible. Her album is incredible! Buy it! Don't download it! Like she said, "you want good music? You gotta support it!"

  • I BELIVE SHE HAS A RIGHT TO HAVE HER SHOW ON MTV ITS WAY BETTER THAN THE USUAL BAD ASS CRAP DEY HAVE ON DERE!

  • She is real... The TV can hold that

  • WOW . that was very moving .. and Invinvible is a great artist ..as an aspiring female rapper I was inspired and blown away by her skills , the message , delivery , and subject matter .

  • This video has been shown on mtvU. Congratulations to everyone who put effort into making this happen. Thumbs this up so ppl who watch this know that we got what we wanted, in the end.

  • yo this is zig zag of "soul defecation" (check it out) and all i can say is thank god for not just a female with sense but a HUMAN with sense, one ultimate love on what you do invincible you are one of the things that reminds me why i do this. ONE LOVE

  • Isn't it funny, that this is deemed problematic, yet they fill the airwaves with talk of pimping and shooting people. No, the problem has nothing to do with the suicidal undertones. It has everything to do with opening peoples eyes.

  • Im from michigan . an i think my brother is on the edge . i need all gods an all the help i cans gets

  • So what? MTV has always been wack since 2000's era.

On the other hand, they rarely support independent record label artist, so really you already expect them to be an extremely asshole corporate douchebag.

    Big up to Invincible!

  • the absolute truth from invincible every damn time!!

  • Interesting ropes is problematic, ying yang twins whisper song isn't shows mtv's standards huh

  • MTV is so full of it! The subject matter? Give me a break! How many videos on mtv arent already about having multiple sex partners, money, bitches, hoes, glamour! Where's glamour in a relationship where you and your partner slap each other around then solve the problem by drinking and popping pills the next day?! This is a subject that I AM no longer afraid of. I'm so proud that you made this video. The fact that it comes from you is especially enlightening. I needed this.

  • damn this song is dope and once i realized this was a GIRL this song turned doper

  • I love this one!

    keep goin Invincible !

    stay re-volted !

  • Good video and deep content... kudos to MTV for finally coming to their senses.

  • Justin Beiber Raps Now? WTF.

  • @cRs93318 Oh. It's the old "Justin Beiber looks like a lesbian" joke. Classic. Very funny. Maybe you should consider stand up?

Love this song man, so much. Love the contrast between their two voices.

  • love it...posted your two of your vids on facebook.....smart woman

  • im not tryin to say anything but is this a chick or a dude????

  • I NEED MORE! too problematic? fuck you MTV, we need to talk! i'm in, peace from Poland fam, keep it up!

  • I got the album support real Hip-Hop.

  • terrible buena la mina

  • Invincible = REAL music. I wish they would show us more real videos instead of feeding us this daily garbage we hear on the radio and tv. Suicide is a serious issue and it has affected some of my family members. These issues need to be brought to light.

I agree with IdealistEyes, we should petition MTV to air this video.

  • Real talk, I believe in you for real and hope you really make it. You just go so hard...not just for a female but as an Emcee..I'm amazed

  • Real talk, I believe in you for real and hope you really make it. You just go so hard...not just for a female but as an Emcee..I'm amazed

  • FIRE ! I've close family members who are battling with what you speak of. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to the new music.

  • Good positive lyricall content and i aggree with all of the positive statements below ..She's a good catalyst ...(~..~) ...Keep on keeping on

  • Real ass song...Def one of the most underrated MCs

  • we need to poroduce something that can topple mtv. mtv is an evil corperation that feeds the youth unrealistic views of society. i would be complimented if I was rejected by the devil. Your views however Invincible are uplifting. thanx from australia

  • THIS IS REAL HIP HOP IN ITS PUREST FORM

  • wow

  • Girl I just found you and I am blasted out of my seat with your strength and talent.

Bless you angel, you are needed like a glass of water in a desert. Keep singing, keep speaking out, keep doing what your soul tells you. You shine and ignite others. I love it. I'm Eve, and I am with you. Peace.

  • Rofl MTV say this is problematic!? We're talking about MTV right? The motherfuckers who made Jersey Shore and allow videos of people swiping credit cards down dancers' asses? If this was intentional, they though their audience couldn't handle something talented. If they meant it, they are some of the dumbest motherfuckers ever.

  • DETROIT STAND UP!!!! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ARTISTS!!!! CUZ THIS SHIT HOT AS HELL!!!! FUCK MAINSTREAM!!!! FUCK MTV!!!! MUCH LOVE TO LYRICAL MUSIC!!!

  • I like it so much, very poetic ! Especially the contrast between the rapper-girl and the singer-girl.

I would say I understand the two points of biew (the one of Invincible and the one of MTV). Maybe if young kids look at this all alone, it's problematic.

  • wow she fucking dope an empress

  • I love the video, the message and your music! I've reposted it to MOG for everyone to see! I can't send the link but find my profile: gcincinnati on MOG :)

  • Freedom of speech!!! It's a dyeing concept. Tiombe, America should be proud of you, for having the vision to bring this powerful statement to life. If governments would not be so oppressive, individuals would take charge of their own destiny. The power to live and fight for freedom is in all of us. Go girl go. a 50y-old male from down-under.

  • motherfuck mtv!!! they wont show this video cuz they say it's "problematic"? get the fuck outta there!

  • if it was a country singer no problem, they always trying to keep true underground hip hop low, thats f--ked up,this girl has potencials, they only give fake money bought puppets a chance to fame and thinking of their own intereststhats all, true hip hop rules!

  • Surprising how songs about others killing each other are allowed and when someone speaks of the despair they experience and the desire to take their own life because of all the SHIT.. they refuse to show. Everyone has mental health issues.. this should wake up those with significant influence and say how can we make this world a place where person want to live, feel alive and be happy.. because if it isn't then the other side may seem or be more attractive. KEEP RAPPING!!

  • You are so down. Keep it up!

  • mtv can suck my dick

  • This is such a significant work of art IMO. Tackling the taboo of the issue; tackling what's underneath the issue; tackling MTV's response to the video; it's all there. Artistically it's superb -- Conceptually it's stellar -- and in the scheme of all that's going on today, it's a tsunami of fresh air. Brilliant. Can't wait to find out more about Invincible!

  • What the fuck is this?

Where are my references to cash, designer labels I can't even pronounce, poppin' bottles, big booty women n da club, drugs, and black on black violence over some Casio synth presets and 808 kick and bass?

These lyrics are too advanced for my 6th grade readin' level.

  • GO INVINCIBLE!! Keep you spirit high....

  • Big One!!!

    RISE!!!!

  • excellent track and video

  • MTV and major networks only want to promote drinking, sex, drugs and all of the things that CAUSE suicidal tendencies. This song and video speaks out in opposition to those things, so they fear they will lose money. That's my 2 cents.

  • yo this chick is brilliant. I've been diggin' her content since that Rawkus-produced "Hip Hop for Respect," but this newer shit I'm hearing is even fresher. Much love and support from DC.

  • WTF was MTVU talking about? This is great.

    - Solomon Jazz

  • la tematia del tema me gusto muy buenas liricas..

good lyrics a dont thing is so problemattic like mtv says..

    5 stars

  • I want show MAD love to you and TIOMBE...i am in NORWAY now and here its a big problem too, especialy for young people, and its one of the firs causes of mortality...love the video and your capacity for rhyme about serious things...much love, your boy ASMATIC from barcelona...

  • no lie: perfect delivery. absolutely 100! subject matter 100%. Thiombe, less crazy than usual but kills it as usual. MTV sleeping on you is the prerequisite for legendary status as an Indie artist. lol... trust me.. I've been watching the game.

  • i dont no what there talking about it was a good veido and song

  • I'm sorry. What is talking black exactly? The dialect of a person is often shaped based on where they live, come from or sometimes where their close family comes from, not their skin. She's a sick MC!!! Judging her based on her skin is not required. And what is black?!lol That's not an ethnicity.

  • @MicrophoneRebel i agree. there is no such thing as "talking black"!

  • lol mr complex is a failure as a rapper now hes directing....lol

  • people talk the way they do becuz of their enviroment. if you're around people that talk a certain way then youll start talkin that way.

  • i'm down with you....you and Tiombe are incredible.... we need to bring problems out in the open if we're ever going to solve them.

  • we don't hurt on the inside because we are weak, or just because we have chemical imbalances --it's these oppressive societies and systems we're stuck in so often that hurt us from the outside-in, from the top-down.

    MAD LOVE to Invincible.

thanks for not selling out--thanks for being problematic

  • This video is so not offensive. It is necessary to discuss the undiscussed. I think the video is hot. Get at me I still need to get you the footage from Hip Hop Kemp...for good measure! 1.

  • This track is dope and Invincible does her thing as usual. MTV had no issues playing "Jeremy" (Pearl Jam) or "Stan" (Eminem) ad nauseum when they were out. Both of those told the tales of people who had slowly succumbed to pressures resulting in death. It's easier to be commercially viable when viewers/listeners don't think or engage conscience. Real heads know, however and will support.

  • @BRP1968 Church, lets not forget Jay Z simulated his own suicide by getting violently shot up at the end of "99 Problems". If Invincible had more money to pull strings like most of the "big wigs" of commerical music, this would go right over their heads, even the religious figures chasing her throughout the video wouldn't have mattered, either. Real shame, but, like you said, real recognize real.

  • very true, its affected many around me, and it needs to be out in the open now, to help the others out there that dont have the help

  • apparently, theory proves 'depression' is not imgrained in our DNA...lets go progress with that collective conscience

  • So it's fine for females to go on stage naked. The truth has no airing? Boycott those fake ass females who have sold their souls for fame and wealth while the rest live like dogs. As a female I applaud invincible.

  • @g4442able as a true hip hop head i applaude invincible.

  • @g4442able I think those who produce and distribute the music deserve blame more than the artists themselves. We must remember that famous musicians are commodities that are sold the audiences by the record labels. Often times, they aren't in change of their own image because it is created by someone else (e.g. MTV trying to change Invincible's video). Your idea of a boycott is fantastic. Vote with your dollars, and support artists like Invincible.

  • @g4442able YES!

  • But Rudolph it is not problematic. MTV just sucks.

  • u missed the point of my message. nevermind.

  • gaga didnt kill herself during her performance. fame killed her. and she didnt slit her wrists, she was hanging by her arm. and maybe the real reason they dont wanna play it is becuase this song sucks?lol

  • When did MTV Grow a conscious. I mean come on there was nothing "problematic" about this video at all.

  • it's problematic bcuz it has a message. if it's not a song about dancing, rims, strip clubs, or killing blacks, it's a problem. simple as that

  • This song and video NEEDS to be heard! I don't see why MTV thinks it's problematic do to Suicidal undertones cause I don't think it is. Add my name to the petition.

  • Especially after Lada Gaga's performance at the VMAs. Hypocrites...

  • this is real .

i haven't heard good rap like this in soo long .

    she's sickk .

  • So where's the petition to get MTV to get this video on the air??? I'm down to sign it!

  • these lyrics are real as fuck i know what she means

  • Not really problematic at all, considering that all most rappers talk about is hoes, violence, and drugs of all kinds, not to mention the frequently screamed word N*GGA!!!

  • I just found out about this lady tonight and I'm definiltely going to listen to more.

A little bit of trivia: At 3:31 that same footage can be seen in the Right Brigade music video by Bad Brains.

  • This shit speaks to me and needs to be heard

    Faulk you MTV

  • i love the song its dope!!

  • Comment removed

  • Keep reppin for the unspoken truths!

  • Props. Lana! Much repsect for using your voice and ryhme skills to communicate this imp. message. After working in Skid Row, much of the mental illness I saw was due to lack of support, resources, outlets to channel the mad talent and art that most people end up there have. Hip Hop has saved my life in many ways, it must grow, and the message must continue to be spoken on. Thank you! Hope to see you again, next you get out here to LA! Blessings!

  • She's absolutely beautiful.

  • "Depending on if they believed in hell or heaven

Or if there was a chemical imbalance in their cerebellum

Or if the pain was overwhelming full of self loathing

Feeling plagued by failure like the first males chosen

Or what if hell's frozen, and life was only this purgatory?

Full of greed, and murder, war" man i want to meet invincible one day when she coming uk

  • HipHop is only music,.........it aint gonna help people stop killing themselves,......it a personal problem and a decision,........the only reason people make hiphop is to get famous and rich and are just using pretexts like,....oh I wanna help others....... bla bla bla !!! so that others would support them,......people,... get real,....u cannot help others by making music,...........also mtv didnt wanna play the song on network because it crampy,......

  • "HipHop is only music" if there was one ting the great philosophers did not disregard it was music and its power true music can make on experience what kant called "sublime". on a phycological note music holds the power to go through all of the minds barriers. on social not music if a tool used for conditioning.

  • I really like music,......I even started producing music but I dont see your point in this comment,.............music can really get to your mind when you take exstacy,..speed or some crystal,.......you should try it !!!,.......otherwise music is just music,.............your comment tells me your a smart but depressed person who should slow down before getting brain overheat,.........chilllllllll mate !!!

  • Comment removed

  • "music can really get to your mind when you take exstacy,..speed or some crystal" that depending on individual and the setting imo substances taken at raves provides a USELESS experience . tools take ecstasy at raves (im aware ecstasy is considered a club drug)

  • Have you ever tried ecstasy ? Yea it a club drug and it's not useless,...........why would people take it

  • for hedonistic reasons . sheep would be be sheep following the herd to have a good time, but not to reflect on the experience

  • "the only reason people make hiphop is to get famous and rich and are just using pretexts like" hiphop is nothing but the expressing of ideas through poetry on a composed beat. "so that others would support them" invincible is a underground artist she was offered A DEAL BY MAJOR RECORD COMPANIES SHE REFUSED

  • "also mtv didnt wanna play the song on network because it crampy" crampy? the song drawed me in as did the clever yet honest lyrics with the addition of a female voice the song reflects perfectly the despair of our society. Mtv don't have a problem playing songs with "shake you ass".."im shoot you nigger"..with a single verse recited over and over again

  • Hey,..Lucifer986,......Every person should have his own opinion,......this was what I think,.......mtv plays stuff that sells and they dont care if the song is trying to send a message or is 1 verse recited over and over again,................the world is a dark place and if every person would think like this rapper,............people,... would kill themselves,.....the song and lyrics are giving a bad vibe and most people dont like it,.....

  • its not givin a bad vibe its bein open to whats goin on in this world today. stations like to give psa's about this topic but never actually touch or speak on it in a way where teens would actually care cuz honestly who listens to psa's? i know i dont but if more kids actually listened to this & saw the video maybe they'll be more aware to it

  • Comment removed

  • music has been connected with violence forever. when we went to war way back in the day in the civil war, they played drums. babababapah attack. kill.

  • This is amazing, you have talent! I crave music like this!!

  • What in the h*** is wrong with MTV? Really? There is nothing wrong with this video. I agree with ryc691, I guess if it's not the same "Karoke MC's" then MTV won't play it......................... Invincible, keep doing your thing girl!!!!

  • just too real ....

  • MR COMPLEX IS A MACK OF HIPHOP WORD.

  • respect 4 this real woman i like that great lyrics good beats.

  • she is tight , im feelin the song !!!!!

  • Lol'ing at MTV not playing this vid. Its prolly because there's no autotune singing in the song. LOL! Keep up the good job, Invincible! God bless!

  • I did not find the video to be problematic, at all. Damn fine job!

  • Cool Video

  • wasn't it because its not the usual melodic wack rapshit on tv?
