  • It hurts to watch this...animals love each other too, and yet we imprison them....this world is messed up.

  • So gentle and soft, how silent the tears roll

  • Just listened to Joseph Gordon Levitt sing this song and had to hear it once more....

  • i will never see my mom in med school :(

  • /gross sobbing (but actually)

  • I think the part that gets all of us is that dumbo is a baby...and that tear he sheds when he touches his mother is just so sad :(

  • Hadn't watch dumbo in years and years and was actually sobbing at this bit. So sad and lovely this scene.

  • When I was a little kid this made me want to cry

  • Every time I hear this, instant waterfalls. ;;

  • this clip brings back so many child memories. without a doubt, saddest movie moment in my life

  • Disney.

Y u make mai heart mushy and my tears all gushy?

  • It was my mum who used to cry at this clip, and explain how cruel it was to separate a mother from her baby, especially as she was only trying to protect him. She loved him whatever he looked like; she was his mummy and that was her baby (as my mum used to say)

  • Anybody think its a little cruel when the Mouse says "Mrs. Jumbo? I hope she's in"? Where else would she be?!?

  • As soon as those tears came out of dumbos eyes, I started bawling.

    T_T

  • WHY IS LIFE SO CRUEL!!!

  • This song always makes me cry... dunno why?

  •

  • because of this scene i had nightmares about loosing my mom! i m crying my eyes out right now i dont know how i could deal with it as a baby... children are really strong. even stronger than adults....

i used to sing this song to my cat, now she's not feeling well and im so scared about loosing her... you're so precious to me, baby of mine... :'(

  • Go on. Shatter me.

  • I love my mom more than words can ever express. I don't know what I'd do without her.

  • raise your hand if you held out to the end

  • @lovedapizza1 I lasted till the 48 second mark. I'm such a sap...lol

  • I always cry when I watch this... :'(

  • i'm bawling my eyes out right now

  • My girlfriend just watched me cry like a baby after I replayed this 5 times in a row. I love my mommy!

  • EVEN THE DAMN MOUSE IS CRYING D:

  • SADDEST THING EVER :'( <33333333

  • 7 people are cold heartless souls...

  • Sob :(

  • I'd like to think I'm made of tough stuff but this part ALWAYS makes me cry. I don't know if it's from having had a mom or from being a mom myself that does it for me but the waterworks begin as soon as Mrs. Jumbo cradles her baby pretty much every time. :'(

  • 7 people hate elephants

  • I've NEVER got through this scene without crying. I check back from time to time, but I always tear up... :`-(

  • It always gets to me ='(

  • I WANNA BE 3 AGAIN D:

  • I'm watching this at 14 years old and I still cry my eyes out every time I see it!!

  • There are 6 EVIL clowns out there who throw baby elephants off of 100 feet towers for entertainment!!!

  • 6 people have no heart.

  • I cry every single time i watch this such a sad scene!

  • The pure and emotional heart strings that this song pulls bring in the tears. I have a child of my own but before him I admit I was an ass. But things change and I have no regrets. When my son wakes he always smiles and he hits me and hides my alarm and says the most heartwarming words I will ever hear "Papa donde esta" while he kisses me on the cheek. I swear I get in late at times at my job but his smile and cries before I leave tell me he Loves me and I love him always.

  • just saw i cryed again this classic i havent to been able to cry in years till 2night thanks dumbo

  • Comment removed

  • I saw this when i was like 6. I'm now 17 and this song still makes me cry like a baby

  • my eyes cry, I sing this song as my nephews who will come to the world. my sisters are a little tricky with the threat of losing them. oh my god do not let them. grant us the miracle. no child should suffer my god protect them.

  • I love this I'm 27 yrs old and yet I tear up and I love this so much I tear up I'm crying right now

  • @lazengann1 Thank you for this comment ! I'm 22 and I thought I was not normal because I tear up too. In fact I almost cry several times during this movie. Dumbo is so beautiful... one of my favourite Disney.

  • This song gets me every time...Also the picturisation is so moving. Sigh...They just don't make movies like this anymore.

  • i remember my mom had to travel once and i missed her sooo much and we sang this on the song together and i was hysterical and when i was sick shed sing this to me. ;( now im almost 19 and we barely get along

  • Cry my eyes out when I watch this, my heart goes out to those of you that don't have your mother to talk to, laugh with, or cherish in your life. Having a mother is a wonderful thing- appreciate her every second you get. -3

  • @Sm589558 i feel ya even tho me and my mom ahave completly differen belief we still love and cherish each other how i miss that old lady

  • i remember the first time i watched this scene, it was on a day my mom was going to travel alone for some weeks. i couldn't stop crying, and now, ten years after that, i still cry like a child when i watch this

  • But it's a cartoon! Why does it touch my heart like this? )"=

  • Please make a DVD version of movie or put it in the theaters

  • Check out Brian Wilson's newly recorded version.

  • my mum used to sing this to me as a kid & now i cant help but cry when i sing it to my baby daughter. snivel.

  • I didn't cry when Mufasa died. I didn't even cry when Bambi's mother died. To be honest it annoys me how unbelieveably overrated that scene is since you don't actually SEE her die. But this scene really gets me. Dumbo and his mother have such a strong bond and the way she tried to reach through him puts me on the verge of tears. The difference with Bambi and Dumbo are completely different. Bambi had his mother with him ever since he was a baby, Dumbo got his mother taken away from him :'(

  • This scene brings tears to my eyes... It's just so beautiful and sad...

  • Lost my moma yr a go to. I was power of atterony. When it came to saying good-bye forever, that was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I miss her everyday

  • Bonnie Raitt does a beautiful version of this song. I'm losing my mom to Alzheimer's. I miss her hugs, kisses, and the way she would sing to me. I tell my students, always treasure your mama.

  • This makes me tear up every time. It's so beautiful.

  • My mother died last year of lung cancer, at the end she could even lift a normal sized book, because she was so weak.. i miss her evryday may she find peace

  • :(

  • <3 Don't ever forget your mother. She loves you.<3

I love this scene. Its beautiful, sweet, soft, makes you feel warm inside.

  • You guys are lucky you have Moms. i don't, she's with her new family now. ;(

  • @patmercader12 Same here. :(

  • every time i cry!!

  • Oh boy, here come the waterworks X,(

  • everytime i watch this scene i cry

  • I used to watch Dumbo when I was little...now I cry much more at this scene. ;_;

  • I love this movie! It always makes me cry!

  • How can there be ANY dislikes on this clip? Are you people made of solid stone, damn it?!

  • @leda1974 i think their eyes were blurry with tears and they misclicked. happens to me.

  • @abridgedfan107 Yeah, Disney knows where to hit you, all right. This and Mufasa's death are probably the biggest sob-fests they ever came up with.

  • @leda1974 they're probably all upset it made them cry.

  • Oh my god. I am 30 years old and I am literally crying my damn eyes out! I have never ever been able to watch this scene with dry eyes!

  • Why do the best Disney movies have to be SO SAD? If Disney wants to start making good movies again make sad movies!

  • @wildflower2176

    You make a good point.

I think back then Disney movies were more willing to tackle tougher scenes, like death and loneliness that today's whiny parents wouldn't tolerate.

  • I have never cried at a movie before....

    streak broken.

  • My mom is still my best friend. I will always find life empty without her. :-) I cried when I saw Disney's Dumbo for the first time, especially after this song.

  • I'm singing this song to my kids.....

  • Dumbo isn't one of my favorite Disney movies but I just love this scene, it makes me want to cry so badly though...

  • One of the most beautiful, touching moments in the history of cinema.

  • 1:40 to 1:45 : proof that Disney can also portrays hyenas in a positive, if fun way, unlike the way they were portrayed in TLK (even though i love the TLK hyena trio myself !)

  • I got to 0:53, before I started tearing up! It just chokes me up!

  • So, everyone watching this vid, give your mom a hug, call or send a text msg and tell them you love them. It will really mean the world to them. <3

  • Mom and I would always watch this film when I was a baby, and at this part I would cuddle up to her like they all would and she would cry. I was too young to understand at the time- and haven't seen this film since. I'm 24 now, and it was on the other day and when this part played I literally wept my eyes out, just like she used to. I understood what she felt and I had to get up and give her a hug and tell her I love her.

  • My parakeet and I would list to this song a lot. I miss really miss her :(

  • @ElephantMousexyz LOL aww

  • The people, who don't like this, have hearts made out of stone!

  • that's probably the saddest thing I've ever watched out of any movie i've ever seen. I am definitely not a movie a cryer but this scene brings on the tears.

  • This is one of the most powerful scenes in the film industry. Beautiful.

  • it's sad because there are real little kids in the world who will never receive a mother's love :( poor babies

  • I started to cry really hard not even a minute in.

  • this always makes me cry

  • My mom died when I was four days old. No one knew what to do with me, they almost gave me up. and my grandma who was 60 at the time took me and kept me with her and she's everything to me. She's my rock, she's taught me life and she showed me love, never hurt. never. She's my best friend. She has alzheimers now, and I'm 18 years old. I wouldn't be who I am without her. She's still alive but she's fading, she still sings this to me though. She told me I'll be the last person she forgets.

  • @olliefckn reading this gave me goosebumps, beautiful...

  • @olliefckn God bless you and your grandmother.

  • @olliefckn omg im praying for you :) † this comment made my eyes water...

  • @olliefckn You just made me cry, listening to this song reading your post :'(

  • I've never even seen the movie and I'm sobbing hysterically. This is one of the most heartwrenching things I've ever seen.

  • If you do not cry at this, you have no soul.

Beautiful. When I was little this made me cry, and it still does :(

  • Comment removed

  • 6 people were adopted

  • Mufasa's Death was sad.... but it would never compare to how sad this is

  • I'm weeping right now...this scene really shows the special bond between mother and child perfectly. I love how the mom's face lights up when she realizes dumbo is there to see her, then I cry when she realizes she can't get to him properly...

  • everyone's happy wit there mama except dumbo :'(

  • this makes me cry no matter what i always cry without fail!!

  • Loooove this song...I sometimes sing it to my babies at night when they're fussy :) Works like a charm!

  • @GuzmanSher2 mine too I've always thought this was one of the most precious songs.

  • Seriously full on adult now, still makes me cry every time...

  • This has to be the saddest one of the saddest scenes in Disney films.

  • My baby is in intensive care. I can relate to the longing to be together in this scene right now. :' (

  • This . made . me . cry . every single time </3 .. omf it's depressing D;

  • everytime this one song from disney gets to me and start crying like a baby.

  • i just watched it twice and cried both times...

  • Veo y escucho esta escena y rajo llorando, es instantáneo, me parte el corazón. ¡GRACIAS DISNEY!

  • what a scene!, always makes me cry, ''im not gonna cry, i'm not gonna cry gonna be strong" cries anyway.

  • I had to stop it before the song even started, I CAN'T HELP IT WAAAAAAA :'(

  • ok, whoever doesn't shed even a single tear over this obviously has got no heart, i mean come on..

  • this is by far the saddest scene of the whole movie...

    makes me cry every time..

  • can someone explain the scene to me?

  • @TheRealest915 Dumbo was born with really big ears, and the other elephants thought he was a freak. His mother kept defending him, but one time, the boy caretakers start to make fun of him, pulling his ears, basically abusing him. His mother comes to his defence and kicks their asses, but is deemed a mad elephant and is locked up from her son :( This is the when he finally gets to see her when she's locked up.

  • I hate this scene so much.

    So sad.

  • Thirty seconds into the video, I couldn't even see my computer screen because my eyes were so blurry with tears. I'm 20 years old.

  • @itaizu me tooo!

  • im 20 and i miss my mom so much. im away at college for summer school. hopefully ill see her soon

  • I just lost my mother a few months ago. When I watch this youtube, I can't help but think of her and cry a river. I use this song each time I want to remember her. I can only ask God to give her roses from heaven and say they are from me.

  • My mom used to sing this to me, and it makes me sad because I'm not her baby anymore :(

  • @SuperUnicornQueen you will always be your parent's baby

  • Im 25 and this movie makes me cry like a 2 year old who can't find his mom. Word of advice people take care of mom, she will love you forever and more.

  • Im 17 and I have not cried in years until now. My mother used to sing this to me when I was younger when I couldn't sleep. This scene is extremely powerful and is well done. And the song too. A mothers love with her child. Its just so disheartening when Dumbo's mother could barely see her child and only can feel and touch him. And the part when they had to see goodbye with only the feel of their trunks, I cried a river. I miss the old Disney. I love you Mommy.

  • 21 years old. A college student. The moment she rocks Dumbo in her trunk I sobbed like a child. I have this combined image of being a kid being rocked by my own mother and hugging my her when I moved out for college. Love you Mom!

  • 6 people need to put duck tape over the holes in their hearts.

  • Did you know that it was John Lasseter's favourite scene, in his favourite film ?

    How legitimate.

  • (TT^TT)

  • f... got tears in my eyes

  • I love this song.. something I want to sing to my children when i'm older

  • Balling my eyes out, I will never not cry at this! This and Fox and the Hound.. Oh my :'(

  • lol i didnt cry

  • OMG LOOK UP THE LYRICS! THEY ARE SO FREAKEN HEARTFELT!!! :( :( :( How I feel for my son lol awwwws....

  • This part is so so sad. Freaken trifling that the mother gets locked up and called a crazed elephant for defending her baby. A mothers love for her child and child for mother are so strong. Makes me think of my little boy and me, and also my strong loyalty and love for my own mother. SOO FREAKEN SAD! :( I'm glad they are together again in the end :)

  • 20 year old guy here.

    Fucking cried my eyes out...

  • @coolsmcbadass 30 yrs old and I'm in pieces ...

  • I can't decide if this scene is sadder or if the scene where Bambi's mom dies is sadder. They both make me cry. That was the good thing about old Disney. You cried because the scenes were wonderful and heartfelt and so full of emotion. Today's Disney makes me cry because it's god-awful. :(

  • The only Disney song that made the actual Walt Disney cry

  • I'm a 17 year old guy, and I cried, and gave my mom a hug. :(

  • Wait why is she locked up??? I never seen this movie, but I don't think I want to seen it made me cry....

  • @sherry56 She's locked up because some kids were making fun of Dumbo's ears, poking at him and scaring him. She got upset, grabbed one of the kids and started spanking him with her trunk. The circus keepers thought she was a mad elephant attacking the crowds and locked her up for the safety of the customers. Meanwhile, turning poor Dumbo into a clown.

  • makes me cry every time :(

  • the only reason i'd dislike this video is because it turns me into a blubbering mess

  • Ahh this scene always makes me cry and think of how close I am with my mother and no matter what happens her hugs always have and will comfort me. Even despite being 21 I love my mommy to the end of the earth. :-)))

  • WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! -SOBBING-

    - BLOWS NOSE LOUDLY.

  • This song used to make me cry,Pink elephants scare the crap outta me.

  • Oh my god. =(

  • Oh my god.. This makes me cry so hard. T___T

  • Never fails every time!!!! I cry!::::::(

  • Why does this always have to make my cry?!!! It makes me want to be an elephant !!!!

  • Can't fight it!...

    *starts sobbing*

  • goddamnit..

    *tear*

  • I watch this movie when I was a little kid. I'm still crying when I see this scene and hear this song.

  • i'm sitting here starting to cry.

  • Damn it Disney, you did it again...making me cry!

This is one of my all time favourite songs from Disney. Dumbo and his mother tug at the heart strings.

  • This scene never fails to make me cry. The worst was when I left home to go to uni in another continent. After unpacking I turned on the telly and THIS SCENE came up on the screen. I called my mother right afterwards, bawling my eyes out.

  • This song is ok but i have heard far better.

  • SOBBING

  • I ALWAYS cry when I hear this song :( It's so pwetty <3

  • So lovely and poignant, never fails to make me cry

    I love you Mama
