  • I will try that.☺Thanks

  • I actually purchased it from a health food store in my area. they also have a website..Pennherb.com

  • I FOLLOWED YOUR DIRECTIONS BUT I ADDED HORSETAIL, NETTLE AND MARSHMELLOW ROOT HERBS TO MY WATER...I ALSO ADDED VITAMIN E AND C..SOME TEA TREE AND FRAGRANCE....ITS AWESOME...THANKS FOR THE INFO

  • @HUNIEPHILLYJAWN Where did you get your marshmellow root and nettle? I wanteed to boil my flaxseeds in the tea made from those two herbs to make a new batch of gel but I do not know a good online source. I am so glad you had great results!

  • I can't wait to try this! The two look almost identical! I've been wanting to try KCCC, but I have a hard time shelling out the $17 for it! I tried Flaxseed gel, and I couldn't get it to work for my wash n go. I may revisit it when I start twisting.

  • I will try! I like to keep my video's under 4 minutes. I do not have video editing software so it will take forever for it to download if it is over 4 minutes.

  • Will you include a tutorial on your recipe?

  • AWESOME! Can't wait to try it! Off to the store :)

  • @rachaelcpr Let me know how you do yours so that we can compare!

  • @Elianna1978 I had never tried teh KCCC before but I heard such great stories that I decided to try it. Not bad! I love the flaxsees gel too! It is so easy and cheap to make!

  • what if you add some glycerin and rosewater?

  • @theocraticlady I didn't much care for the smell of rose water and my hair hates glycerin. I have to do alot of prep work to my hair before applying glycerin to it. If I did not hudrate my hair on a daily basis when I used glycerin based products, my hair would turn into a tumbleweed!

  • Great video...thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe.

  • hey I was thinking, what about using Agar-agar instead of the gelatin? it more natural?? Anyway thank you so much. I live in Canada and the KCCC cost 34$ and you can only purchase it online!!! That is a great alternative and very cheap!

  • @Kmarion77 Hmmm, I have some agar agar in my cupboard. I may have to experiment and see! I should work since it becomes jelly like too. I do not know how it would handle being mixed with the oils though.

  • wwwowww, your receipe looks great! i can wait to try it and to see the follow-up. thanks for sharing!! luv it!!

  • @Kmarion77 please let me know when you try it. I wish I would not have made such a big batch so that I can start experimenting with the next batch.

  • @Kmarion77 Didn't mean to interrupt but you can get Kinky Curly products at Honey Fig or Discount Beauty Supplyif you live in Toronto. I'd prefer this gel or the gel made from flax seed because it's cheaper and you can identify the ingredients. All natural. Still like the Knot Today though.

  • @2damnfunny thank you. I live in Montreal and I purshase some of my products at Honey Fig. Anyway at Honey Fig the Knot today and the KCCC are much more expensive than in the US.! For the rest, my products are homemade . Most of my ingredients are bought in ' Natural stores' like TAU because the blak beauty stores don't sell them. It 's a bit ashame. Are you saying that you subtitute the knot today by the flax seed? interresting... thanks for your advices.

  • Sorry forgot to pull down the details with the recipe!

  • i'd be too afraid to wake up with ants in my hair lol nice vid!

  • @bellanatural01 LOL! There is no sugar in it! It is the unsweetened Gelatin. That would be the worst mess ever to use regular jello ix. Maybe I will try it for halloween!

  • Okay!!!.. I a little excited that that worked! Usually I love the flax seed gel as my best option, but this sounds so great! Please follow up with, next day hair, dryness, and whatnot 'cause you may be on something. Oh yeah what was the recipe you used? Thanks for this idea!

  • @jadar47 After 2 hours of playing in it. The two front pieces had a little flaking from both products but that was because I but it on so heavy. It was only a little flaky at the root area.
