it's called a hoover, not sure what what syth they used back in the day but you can do it on just about any synth that has a pitch envelope

Its mostly white dudes because(I'm black by da way)da majority of blacks in this country have been conditioned to like only HipHop and R&B. Ever let da average HipHop head listen 2 some DnB? It confuses em n they jus think its Techno. I listen to all kinds of music myself, n know only 3 otha blacks that do 2, 0 that listen to DnB. Its nice da UK scene is cool, but if 1 thinks the scene's bad here, we should make it better. I like DnB, period. I don't care wut country its from.

And dat's cool, it really is, but unfortunately here stateside it isn't quite like that. I know somewhere in da US there are blacks that dig DnB, it's just in 10 years, I've yet to meet one. It's probably cause I live in a small city (not dat I've never left it). Places like LA, NY, and SF have much more diverse DnB scenes. Where I live da DnB scene is more or less dead, which is a shame too by the way.

yeah that is a big shame i feel that if most americans got to experience the rave sceane first hand like as in to go to a big event eg. Some friends and I actually tried that when I was ravin back in the day. The rave scene was larger here then and I was spinnin trance and progressive house, haha. None of them were junglists tho, and when I started droppin DnB, it didn't go "as planned". Might do it again tho. This cat is tryin to get me to start up again, but he would prefer I didn't do DnB, which kinda ruins why I'd start spinnin again. You're definitely right tho, I (or someone) need to show these peeps what they missin!

Thats a good thing that he is. you guys got it from black kids correct(the clubs sceen was segrigated for the most part in england in the early days of jungle)...and so its a better diversity sound when different spectrums are included, thats why it sounds so dam good! unlike over here in the states.

i'm from the states also but in L.A. the scene is very diverse. there's also a lot of good D&B from America. check guys like Hive, Gridlok, Atlantic Connection, Sabaruko, Infiltrata, Sinistar, etc.

the reason why American DnB is (sometimes) good is because they were influenced by old british dark DnB ;P what theyre now doing was already done by brits i'm sorry to say :P but dnt get me wrong americans are good.
