  • I'm a student at Uni right now, and i've brought plenty of separate supplements from MyProtein (eg, whey, creatine, maltodextrin, glutamine etc etc) but noticed it had a bad impact on my student loan, would you recommend Pulse pre-workout, and Impact Blend and Instant Oats post workout and used as a meal replacement formula? Other than that, my diet is pretty clean, high protein/carb, moderate good fats, but I dont have the time or money to prepare a post workout meal etc... Thanks

  • @rxg092 DUDE!! dont have time or money to prepare a post workout meal?.. I was a student 6 years i had oven chips and one scoop whey for a preworkout meal, then post workout i used to drink blended oats in my protein shake 2 scoops, 45mins later id have some food to eat either rice and tuna with light mayo baked potato tuna, if it was dinner time id have pork chops cut some potatoes into wedges and trow em in the oven from aldi a 6 pack of pork chops were like 3quid, oven chipps 1.99 :D

  • @christophela The INSTANT OATS bought from Myprotein is just normal oats that have been ground down, you can buy a 1kg pack of oats for like 50p then put them in a blender, pick the blender up and shake it so all the oats are blended, CHEAP and EFFECTIVE just what a student loves. you can use shakes as a meal replacement but eat food as much as you can too, dont think oh iv had a shake i dont need to eat now, MRP means you have had an 'extra' meal not replace a normal meal, do you get me?

  • @christophela :o That actually makes sense for getting a quick & cheap easy source of carbs in, rather than boiling rice or pasta xD I was in catered halls this year so had no control over lunch and dinner, but this year im moving into self-catered halls, and I had all these diet plans, relying on wholegrain pitta's, bags of chicken breast from Sainsbury's (and a George Foreman Grill) and for egg whites, those botted egg whites from MyProtein, mixed with whole eggs from the supermarket..   • is it ok to use ready brek instead of oats, cant find fine oats in tesco or asda, and drinking oats ground in the blender makes me gag.

  • I have a dumb question, but I think you know the answer. When I use a propper weightgainer 'shake' (as bought in the store) the results are fine, but it also appears on my face! It's killing me. Do you think it's due the fact of a wrong product or am I just fucked? please help me. X

  • @DonSelwashington All store bought weight gainers generally are is just empty calories as in sugars, this can make you gain unwanted weight but if your working out too then it should be too much of a problem, If the weight gainer has creatine in it then you might be retaining water which could appear around the face area and neck. without knowing the ins and outs thats all I can think of.

  • I have been exercising 5 weeks now I weigh 153lbs 17% bf, I am trying to gain muscle and lose body fat, I do weights 3 times a week, and skip for 45 minutes 3 times a week for my cardio. I try to eat 2150 Cals a week with a 40 pro, 50 carb and 10 percent fat ratio. I have not gained a single pound? Would you recommend seeing a personal trainer about my diet as it's getting frustrating.

  • well man, ya prob get asked this alot, but im 26, and im 8 stone, (dunno what is is in kilos, think its 55lbs, ive a seriously high metabolism, i actually do eat like a horse but it goes nowhere, im in ireland so weight gain and nutritional stuff isnt very known, just wonder have u any advice for me, cheers, john

  • @trimyunglad How tall are you? 8 stone sounds like u could be in risk of serious health issues. never the less everyone is different, first of all go to the facebook page and post the question there an i will try to answer ur questions in detial on there, as i have limited space on here.

  • I use Tesco value oats at 58p for a kilo, I have whizzed it up with a hand blender to powder it up a bit although it does fly everywhere. Still always looking to cut costs on main brand supplements. Concidering buying maltodextrin to add for post workout???

  • @mrmattjg Good call mate on the value oats, Oats are oats lets forget brand names! I get asda smart price for like 70p for a big bag. Malto dextrin good call too replace that lost gycogen as quick as poss :)

  • I have this problem as well my dominant side takes over slightly in exercises such as bench press, barbel curls etc so i have a small size difference in my left and right sides, What i try to do is focus on your weaker side, by focusing on this side you will be more concious of its involvement in the movement and will be more likely to spread the stress equally between right and left sides, focus and form are very important factors in gaining a symetrical physique.   • hey chris .. so i have this lil problem lol

    with the 3and a half week creatine gain of 10lbs.. after stopin for like a week now im still continuin to gain weight and not losin any thin lol. how ever my sister made a remark that i have a lil belly fat now ^^ for a joke but now i realised that i am ( just a little bit :P) and its really hard to keep saturated fats down lol.. so im just thinkin i might have to start every breakfast with oats +protein so gona order 10kg of oats from myprotein now;D

  • @Keeperz1 Are you keeping your high GI carbs to a minimum, For breakfast I have four rounds of wholemeal bread, a tin of baked beans 4 rounds of Grilled bacon, 2 eggs and some cheese (made with skimmed milk), all have low GI carbs and it is high in protein, it also has fat (from bacon and cheese) but I should be gettin 40g fats a day anyway plus breakfast can be a little naughty and should be the biggest meal. key is to keep to Low GI foods which means u will store less as fat!

  • @AsSNHo because the idea is to build muslce mass and not fat, sugar and fats (in excess) will convert to fat. sugars are just 'empty calories' and these are usless when building muscle.

  • Although L-arginine is just a simple amino acid which is important for good circulation and can actually reduce blood clots, you can pick it up from any health shop and due to its importance in bodybuilding/sports you should be able buy it at any supplement store (but beware i get mine from a health shop for under £5, but supplements stores might cost slightly more)

  • Chris, there's no such thing as non(clean) fat weight gainer. Oatmeal has fat as well, it should have a couple of grams of fat each scoop. I'm not saying it's not a weight gainer, but it still has fat.

  • @Ant0nio10 well you cant live without fat.. oats have good monohydrate fats not so much saturated .

  • @Keeperz1 also its like sayin a doughnut has fat and wholemeal bread has fat, i know which one would be the healthy option, this is what i meant by clean. sorry for confusion

  • @Ant0nio10 yeh like keeperz1 said below, clean diet is just tryin to keep fats to a low percentage per serving size of product, and trying to cut sugar, truemass weight gainer has 14g of sugar and 17g of fat 5g of saturated fat, this weight gainer has 1g of sugar and 5g total fat, i knew someone would flame me for sayin 'clean' I get my essential fats from my diet, its all good I just dont want my weight gainer to mess up a strict diet.

  • Chris I didn't mean to flame you buddy. I'm just saying there's no such thing as a "clean" weight gainer. And I don't believe in diets as well, if your going to change the way you eat. You'll have to change it permanently, check out some of my videos. I talk about it.

  • @Ant0nio10 You misunderstood what I mean by Diet, A diet is defined as your daily/weekly intake of food. Most people see the word diet and think of salads and weight loss and fads etc. it is a very common misconseption with the word diet. see I am gaining muscle whilst stripping away fat, so I agree with you people shouldnt really bulk and cut, my bulking consists of adding creatine and cutting is simply stop taking it (to lose water weight) nothing changes in my diet this way i dont yoyo.

  • @Ant0nio10 Also people will hear alot of talk flying round about 'clean' and 'dirty' just type clean diet, dirty bulking, into google they are just bodybuilding slang for a strict or not so strict diet, by making a 'Clean' protein shake i know exactly whats in it exactly how much fat, sugar, carbs, protein and calories and I know that they are coming from a good source, and it helps me keep ontop of strict eating; if you dont know the nutritional values EXACTLY then dont put it in ur mouth :)

  • Good to see my advice bein put to good use, it can be a bit lumpy but if its unflavoured whey a little tip is to put some sugar free squash into the water before u put ur protein in. tastes very nice and refreshing

    hey bro i only done 3 and a half weaks on creatine =( cos only had 100g gona reorder some in a week :D

    i gained 10lbs.. and its been 5days since ive been off creatine and ive only lost 1lb !! :D

  • yeah any muscle gains you make on creatine will be permenant aslong as you keep your training and diet correct, the only weight you will lose is water weight! well done by the way ;)
