Wow Sylvie, this is one of the extraordinary tutorials on how to deliver a Muay Thai kick since no instructor has ever really told me to focus on exerting the power through the standing leg, and the kicking leg will follow ... This is great stuff and i'll be practicing it your way (i'm a beginner who just started .. 2 months in and still can't do a proper kick). Keep up the good work!
this was very intresting thnx for that, i had a laugh about your dog because my dog always attacks my bag aswell , hard to do training while he is arround :))
Hi. Enjoy your clips. Feel free to subscribe back. I've trained in many disciplines but mainly Kick & Thai Boxing (not the same thing I know). Are you training in States or Thai land? to answer your question, 45 degree round kick is a Tae Kwon Do Ab-dul-chagi (turning kick) lots of whip and snap but not much more than a competition kick.
its very hard i find the trhow it from the side ( like whit youre strong leg ) but whit the weak leg. it helps me a lot to understand the mecanic of the kicks personaly.
do you see that when you kick whit youre weak leg youre kicking foot start from almost pointing in front and when you kick whit youre strong leg you load youre kick whit youre foot pointing at like 45 degrees wich at the end makes that you hit more diagonaly on the bag whit youre strong leg ( like diagonal front of the bag) and more on the side of the bag whit youre weak leg . are you able to reverse that like back leg kicking from the foot pointing almost straight and the weak one loading on
@aoshi3000 Thanks. It was an Everlast bag that I never wanted to kick because it literally felt like cement. So one day I opened it up and saw that they had filled it with lots 5 lb bags of sand and something like insulation filling. The little sand bags were like bricks, making cement lumps, horrible. So I took most if not all of the sand bags out and used clothing to pack it as tight as I could. It settled after a week and I filled it some more.
Awesome!!!!It is easier said than done. That is a powerful kick.U have your baseball bat(s) really.I would hate to be the person to be hit by your baseball bats.
Well put. I practice Tang Soo Do which has the hips as the foundation of all the techniques too. That is great advice to take our mind off the kicking foot and focus on the hip rotation. Never thought of it like that. It works, what a difference. More power with less effort. Thanks!
Great kicks! I heard some people end up breaking their foot when using the bag with the stand, I would be afraid of kicking one of them side poles. Great video, hope to see more of these!
Nice kicks and also nice training room :D

The kicking style actually reminds me of a whip that cracks.

No matter how much I try to get the same feeling, I can not for the life of me get the left round kick to get the same "swivel"
It would sure feel great to have fight ending kicks in both legs, like Daniel Ghita.
