I think the name Jews Harp is a bastadization of Jaw Harp. I've just got myself a Dan Moi Jaw Harp, Vietnamese, and it plays a treat. It's louder than the conventional Jaw Harp and there's no need to grip it in your teeth, so it isn't painful to play at all.

lol christmas trees aren't even really from christianity, I think its just a german practice that got associated with christianity because it was done around that period of time (the holiday season). There is nothing even inherently christian about the christmas tree, just as there is nothing inherently jewish about the jewish harp. Its just the common english name; no ONE person decides what something is called, its just a culture thing and is studied in etymology.
