Anyways - I love Ed's contributions to the vocals on ALL tunes - he is such a critical utility man in this band.

I always cringe a bit when he tries to sing the older, heavier songs off of The Bends or OKC. Even on newer stuff his voice strains and breaks a lot easier than before.

I think he may even have developed some vocal nodules in the Kid A period (That's when his voice started going downhill) though I'm no vocal expert. On a good day, he is still fucking amazing, just look at some of his solo performances, from after this tour.

@SmallFish616 the keyboard he is using doesn't produce it's own sound, it is a midi controller. I use a midi controller too, and my guess is he took the original Mild Und Leise piece and chopped it up so each chord was triggered by him hitting a key. I do this in Garageband/Logic

@blackbeltbrown My theory is that at the start of the song Ed creates a loop of "noise" with his pedals and guitar (hence the guitar at the start) but he mutes it so we cant hear it. Then he puts down his guitar and sings the backups for the song and plays the shaker lol

In the breakdown sort of section he finally triggers the loop he previously created and just tampers with it using his pedals untill the end of the song, creating that swoosh sound

Feel so bad for Thom, one of the best vocalists ever, by like when they toured for Kid A i think it was like he said himself. He hated touring so much cozit made his voice give out, like in this video.
