  • Yea bro I enjoy ur show ur work is awsome 2 thumbs up from one car guy to another

  • You are like my auto body super hero !! I found a roof for a good price for my skyroof nova ( doing away with the skyroof option) I'm wondering where are the spot welds along the drip rail? I'm trying to keep my spot/plug welds hidden in the window channel drip rail area

  • @KEITHNICKLOWICZ cool dud glad you found the show.

  • 4 stars Clip

  • I am doing a 72 Chevelle roof skin which appears to be not quite 1/4" short. I haven't really tried yet but can you tell me a way to cope with that? thanks

  • @TheBusterheat Post picks of what your talking about on our Facebook page so I can see what you mean.

  • what if you only have a little rust in the top conner of the windshield could you cut that out and replace it on a 74 barracuda do you have to make the patch panel or do they sell one

  • @bigchev9999 Haven't researched a patch panel for that repair. If it is how I imagine I don't believe it would be hard to make a patch panel. I recommend staying in the window channel if at all possible roof skin patches can be hell.

  • thanks for the video. very informative

  • Jeff do you spot weld over the doors too

  • yes, I used the spot welder on the entire roof skin with the exception of the sail panels and where there was three layers of sheet metal.

  • Good job Jeff. Now you just gotta help me find full quarters for my dart.....

  • what year again?

  • 75 swinger.

  • swinger means its a 2 door, right?

  • Im not sure if that's what swinger means, but yes its a 2 door and its same square body style just like yours not the sport style.

  • Thanks for answering my question.. That "Moon Roof" option looked good. That was a keeper.. hehee!

Is there a rule of thumb of distance between spot welds.

As always, nice work James! Vid Rocks!

    Les

  • No Moon roof that doesn't work, haha. I put more spot welds in it that the factory I figure that will make it stronger.

  • Great info, Jeff.

  • thanks dude.

  • i love the spot welder looks like a factory finish wish list item XXXXXXXXX any how , just wanting to know do you use any products in the drip rail to seal it ? or is paint going to do that for you ?

  • we use a self- leveling urethane seam sealer just before paint to seal.

  • Yeah, that spot welder is a nice tool...

  • made the job real quick.

  • Here in N.E. Ohio that is a primo skin you cut off that car, lol...

  • That's a nice piece back in New York too, but I'm proud of that repair.
