Skinheads were lowpaid but proud workers, who struggled with lack of jobs, poor payment, crappy housing and so on. Proud to be one of the workingclass, nothing to do with race or nation. Looks were then actually just functional. Steel toed boots: just working boots and starting at the factory every man had his head shaved to prefent lice-infestations. Not a real 'proud' reason, but hey lice gave them a name to go by... The only political ideology was more power and respect to the workingclass.

@ocelot10 - 'White Pride' is a particular movement. No-one is saying you cant be proud of who you are.... that's fine. But maybe you should consider, if you class yourself as 'white', why aren't you specific about your country of origin? Why is it being White that your proud of and not say, proud of being English/American/European. Do you consider all white people are the same? The question is retorical, but you may want to sit down and think about it.

@TheMiamifuentes watch the vid num-nuts. ORIGINAL skins were black and white - the only music they liked was SKA a kind of Jamaican reggae played by everso black people. Check further, it's all here. Like every movement, it got subverted and twisted from it's original meaning.
It was all about working class expression. U.K. black people are not descended from the slaves of British households, we had the working class for that. Jamaicans came after the war to join our depleted working class.
