  • those aren't brackets they are parenthesis and yes that matters a lot.

  • winbloze sucks

  • @YBH305 Unless you're British in which case it's ( ) Brackets, [ ] Square Brackets and Braces { }

  • @onewizzard who cares, your boyfriend doesn't complain when you suck his Coooooo-ck.

  • You keep saying bracket when you mean parenthesis. These are brackets [ } { } These are parenthesis ( ) There is a big difference. Parenthesis are used to pass objects (this), or group statements for condition testing x > (y + 9) Brackets are used for code blocks myApp() { } Brackets are also used for Arrays and Lists Array students = new student[30]; studentGrades{80, 75, 67} Please correct the video because it is misleading to ppl who don't program.
  • You just wasted my 5 min I thought its' a new tutorial but it's exactly the same in Android Developer resources.....

I bet you are copying from the page urself too.

  • I hate to say this but I think this is a horrible tutorial. I don't think it is possible to write an effective tutorial directed towards beginner programmers that are not familiar with Java. quote: "you wanna type TextView tv = new ... "

Sure you're showing them what to type but it doesn't help. I think you should focus more on experienced Java programmers that are new to the API.

  • EEEEE-Clips

  • ADT + Eclipse for dummies (10-)

  • I thought your presentation was extremely helpful.

I program in several languages, and have found the process of searching, installing and configuring Android SDK, JDK and Eclipse has been much more difficult than any of this needs to be and much more challenging than the actual programming. Thanks for your contribution.

  • i like that you dont talk super fast. cause i dont speak/understand english 100%.. that makes it easier to understand :)).. Thanks.. finally i know how :)!

  • Why is it telling me "TextView cannot be resolved to a type"? It won't let me do anything.

  • @MisanthropicWish same problem on my end. did you ever figure this out?

  • How many e's at the begging of EEEECLIPSE again?

  • So how can I convert that into a .apk? -to test on an Android device?

    (or find the .apk file)

    Please reply...

  • @skillman13 Eclipse should compile it by default... Look inside the bin directory of your project

  • Very clear instructions

    Thanks allot for this tutorial

    5/5!

  • They are parenthesis, not brackets. Brackets are different...

  • Parentheses can also be called open brackets, round brackets or just plain ol' brackets.

    Round here:

    ( ) = brackets.

    [ ] = square brackets.

    { } = curly brackets.

The same is true in both writing and in code.

  • You talk extremely slow and about totally irrelevant things! Keep the track!

  • @antonagestam This is directed for the beginners of the program. ALL DETAILS ARE GOOD!!!

  • @antonagestam though not everyone from this world are english speakers, so reviews are always made in slow talk to make it understandable for more people.

@hejpaget yeah, absolutely annoying way of programming. those things could be done nicer - via ui editor.

  • Its not him Youtube probably compressed the video.

  • I cannot see anything your typing and your not explaining it very well. Thanks

  • cant see what you are typing
