medicine and poison are both used with the middle finger, medicine you keep your finger stationary and wiggle your hand. Poison you kind of rub your palm, look closely. But when you're signing to a deaf person it's all context, use your lips to say the word without actually saying it.
that is correct, but when you read lips and signing it to a deaf person t hey know what you are saying. just make sure you are mouthing the words. smile
Really glad you did these videos! Dictionaries simply aren't enough. They're just not complete enough. Good start, but we really need to see the signs in categories like in your vids. Thx a million!
I was thinking about trying to get Jes (Seek Geo's Jes) to do a video with questions an EMT/emergency nurse might ask, such as "How many pills did you take, and at what time?" or "Are you allergic to any medications?" or "Are you having trouble breathing?" etc. I know there are about 10 or so really vital questions to ask while others are calling 911.
1:43 Medicine vs. poison. Little hard to see. Medicine is signed with the middle finger and poison signed with the index finger?

Yes I know... They are almost both sign the same way. But thanks for pointing that out.

DeafGAGirl, I was not correcting. I'm still only a few months into ASL. I was merely asking. Sorry if I was not clear.

Ohh I know you were not, I was just agreeing with ya. *wink* smile*
Because poison and medicine are about the same way ASL.
