Don't use clear nail polish. If you want something very cheap, go to a craft store and in the acrylic paint section buy Clear Varnish for pottery, glass, wood etc, I got mine for like 69 cents :) It works much better than sculpey glaze.

i used the nail polish and it made my earrings stink .. had a very loud smell ;(

yea nail pollish makes it turn yellow

Yea, when i used nailpolish, it turned yellow after a while.

Using nail polish over time turns yellow and makes the clay very sticky

Be wary whilst using nailpolish, especially water-based ones. They react with the clay over time and sometimes cause glaze to peel or turn yellow.
